Why I am experiencing video freezing using FaceTime.
Using an iMac intel OS 10.6.8 and connecting to MacBook Pro with FaceTime, I experience video freezes and broken audio. The other party (MacBook) does not seem to have the same issue leading me to believe it is something to do with the iMac. I tried restarting prior to the FaceTime session but this did not help the problem. I am connected via wire to a cable modem. I haven't found any references to this issue in the help menu nor any forums at this point. Any thoughts?

When I watch videos or use FaceTime on my iPhone the screen turns green and I can only hear the sound. I have reset and turned off as suggested but still no joy.

Why does my Ipod keep freezing during Facetime
While using Facetime the screen freezes, its very annoying, any ideas why this can happen? We have tried turning off all the apps that we are no longer using and turning Ipod off regularly.
Any other ideas?Not sure exactly what's going on here, but it might be worth taking a look at this Apple support document describing some of the ports that need to be opened on your router/modem in order for FaceTime to work properly.

There are plenty of other possible reasons you are running into issues, such as hardware or software issues on your iPod Touch device or perhaps with the other user's device on the other end.

Why do I need wifi to use FaceTime?
When I call at home with my iphone, I can use facetime, no problem. If I go to my mother's house, where there is no wifi, I get a message if I try to use facetime. It directs me to the ATT website.
AT&T requires that you be on a "Shared" data plan to use FaceTime over 3G. That's why you're being directed to AT&T's site...you need to change your data plan.

When making FaceTime calls to family in the UK both our video links fail leaving only audio on our iPads. This has only happened since updating to iOS 8. The screen has a message saying connection is poor and will resume when connection is better. The wifi signal is strong at both ends. The audio is good. Just no video after initial connection is made.
Would love some suggestions as to what to do.Same issue here, both my boyfriend and I updated our iPads and iPhones to 8.1, now FT crashes constantly, when we try to FT from iPhone to iPad we just get "connecting" and nothing happens. If we do iPhone wifi to iPhone cellular we get same "connecting" problem. If we do iPhone to iPhone and enable cellular it connects. When we do iPad wifi to iPad wifi it connects but then crashes constantly. I have tried ft with others who have not done the updates and it works fine Using the same Internet connection. We have switched to skype to video chat and it works just fine, so it can't be an Internet issue.

865PE Neo 2 LS - Video Freeze & Hard Lock
I am experiencing Video Freeze & Hard locks whenever I try to run 3dMark2003 or load my video games (Unreal Tournament & Planet Side so far).. All drivers are current, the only hardware changes were the Motherboard, processor, and memory. All the other components were running properly on my previous P4 1.6Ghz.

Why can I not make video calls using Skype?
I'm really baffled. I have a month old MacBook Air. I use Skype daily for work and personal business. Never had a problem until this evening. I went to make a video call and Skype was not linked with the camera - there was no option to make a video call and when I went into Preferences, it said I had no camera. I then used FaceTime - person I was calling also had FaceTime, so it wasn't an issue - but I've now spent an hour trying to solved the problem, including logging in and out of Skype, closing the app and reinstalling, all to no avail. The camera functions fine with FT and other apps - why will it not sync up with Skype after it's worked fine? Anyone have a clue? Thanks in advance.

FIX:
1. You need Time Machine
2. Go to folder /Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/
3. Copy AppleCamera.plugin to good place (usb memory stick is the best place).
4. Go to Time machine in date that skype work fine.
5. Change AppleCamera.plugin with file from Time Machine
6. Restart system, Now skype need to work with camera.

Sounds like a problem between your external DVD player & your TV. Start w/the basic & easiest. Use a drive cleaner on your external DVD player. -
My iPad Air always freezes during FaceTime calls using wifi. I switch to my iPhone 5c on the same wifi, and it never freezes while I'm sitting in the same location. Is there maybe a setting I have that is causes this? I am up to date on the OS 7.1.1. Video and audio is froze on my end, only video freezes on the other end. It doesn't make a difference who makes the call either.
No, there isn't any setting that you are missing. Have you tried force closing FaceTime, and resetting your iPad?
In order to close FaceTime, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that does not make a difference, you could try resetting all settings, if you reset all settings you will have to enter all of the device preferences again in the settings app. That takes some time to accomplish, but you will not lose my data, media, apps or anything like that. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings.
If that doesn't help, the next step would be to restore the iOS software. Backup your iPad first, restore the iOS, then restore the backup.

So explain how you are video chatting using the rear camera? Obviously either A) you cannot see the person you are talking to because you are talking to the back of the phone or B) They cannot see you because you are watching them on your screen on the phone. What is the point of video chatting if you cannot do both A and B above at the same time? Just because Skype makes an inferior app doesn't mean it is worth using on a phone without a forward facing camera. Also my iphone 4S can change to the rear so people can see what I am looking at but most of the time I am facing them chatting. One other thing, facetime on my macbook only has the forward facing camera so I cannot change cameras on it. If you are seeing a trend here it is that you need a forward facing camera to use the phone and a iphone 4 or better. It was one of the selling points of the iphone 4 just like siri was the selling point of the 4s yet it is not on the 4 which is capable of handling it too.
One final thing. There is no 3S. It is a 3GS or a 3G. -
When I call someone using FaceTime from my mac, they can see me but not hear me. Is there something I need to do to make this happen? I also have an iPad 2 and FaceTime works great on it if I call somebody. Why no sound from my mac FaceTime using a mac pro and isight camera, mike combo.

Try turning down the speak volume (System Preferences->Sound->Output->Output Volume) or the microphone gain (System Preferences->Sound->Input->Input Volume). Do this on both sides of the call.

Automatic Sleep not working - prevented by itunes
