Sam.In this Forum it appears that Windows 2000 with SP4 will work as well (haven't tried it).
If you've got VISTA you could consider running the trial on a Virtual Machine. Parallels, and vmware offer commercial vm products for generating Virtual machines whilst Microsoft (Virtual Pc2007) and VBOX offer Free virtualisation products. Vmware also provides a FREE vmware server virtualisation product --this works fine as well although no multi-media support. However if you only need the Virtual Machine to run the Netweaver trial then that's no big deal.
As I've posted elsewhere a Win XP pro Virtual Machine using only 512MB of RAM will give quite adequate performance of the ABAP trial. Don't even THINK of the Java edition unless you've got at LEAST 2GB - even on a Virtual Machine.

Unable to install iTunes 8.1.1 for windows vista home premium 32 bit
When program is installing from version 7.3, a message comes up stating I have a newer version of QuickTime which is impossible. Having purchased a new iPod Nano I cannot use it because iTunes 8.1.1 has not worked out bugs, or so it seems, to download it successfully. If anyone has had this happen and figured out what the problem is, I would love to read your answer.

I still had the issue after removing the application and cleaning up the installer files on my computer.
Two weeks ago I spoke with Apple technical support. We were unable to come to any conclusion as to any reason why the computer states there is a newer version of QuickTime.
Quite frustrating having purchased an iPod Nano. -

I'm trying to install iTunes on my computer running Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm not sure if iTunes is compatible with my computer operating system because when I try to install it, it says the installation is completed but it says there was an error so it won't let me get itunes! Natalie.I just tried running the Lenovo Hard Drive Quick Test both in normal mode and in safe mode. Both times it indicated a failed read test on the HDD. The last two tests also failed. I forget what those tests were called.
I am really beginning to think I have a bad HDD and the problem just happens to be in the reserved partition where my factory system software resides. -

I've received error messages every time I try to download iTunes. I've tried the troubleshooting steps on Apple's website but no luck.

It's not clear initially which is the fundamental error here. But based on the fact that the 8007371b can be fixed by the System Update Readiness Tool, we might try a manual install of that first. There's information on how to do that in the *Information for Advanced Users* section of the following document.
[Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7, and for Windows Server 2008 R2|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821]
Installing the tool will run the tool.
After the installation of the tool, restart the PC. Then go back to Windows Update, and attempt to stock up again on Windows Updates. Do they download and install correctly? If so, because you might be a reasonable way behind on updates, keep going back to Windows update until it stops offering you new updates.
Once you're stocked up again, restart the PC again, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

Remove all of these items in the following order:

Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Itunes won't start in Windows Vista Home Premium
I have an HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop that I just got around christmas, and it is running vista homem premium.
Everything was working great until about a week ago, I started itunes, and windows just comes up telling me that itunes has stoppoed working, and it is trying to find a solution to my problem. Then it just goes away, and nothing happens.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled, running a registry cleaner inbetween, i've deleted all the files in my library inbetween the installs to try and make itunes creat a new library. I've unistalled the ace mega codecs pack on my computer. Nothing works.
Any ideas?please, help me..

AaliaHi, well I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. We'll see what the problem may be. First to answer your question,
the OS means operating system. Which if you are using Windows, then your OS is Vista. It could be XP or the newest one
which is Windows7, Win7 for short. Now if someone is using a Mac, then that would be their OS.
Now your computer and all computers can install and run Flash Player. However there are a few things that can cause a problem, so I'll list a few.
The first thing and most important is that you must be the Administrator of your computer. If this is your computer and you set up the accounts, the first account set up would be the Administrator account. You can look at that as the "Boss"
Now some people will set up accounts for other people but they are not Administrator accounts, they are called User or Limited accounts. They cannot be "Boss":-) There are some other things, but I'm stating it this way, so you can better understand.
When you Install programs, like Flash Player, you have to use the Administrator account to do so.
Don't think you are the only one having problems. We'll find out what it is and fix it.
Since using the Administrator account is the most important, I want you to go down to where the clock it. With your mouse, right click over the time that is showing. Then when the small window opens, left click on Adjust Date/Time.
Then post back and tell me what you saw.

HELP No Audio Device Installed on HP dv4-145dx running Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2
I recently completed a Windows update and now my audio device is not functioning at all. I am being told that NO AUDIO OUTPUT DEVICE IS INSTALLED. I have tried to use the Update Driver function and keep receiving the message " WINDOWS FOUND DRIVER SOFTWARE FOR YOUR DEVICE BUT ENCOUNTERED AN ERROR WHILE ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL IT."
If anyone has advice on how to resolve this issue please help. Thank you.

It seems that the Audio Driver is corrupt:
Please click Start->In the Search Field above, type DEVMGMT.MSC and Press Enter, it opens Device maanger Window, click + next to Sound, Video and Game COntrollers, right click on IDT or High Definition Audio Device entry, and click uninstall.
Click Start->All Programs->REcovery Manager->Select NO on Software Program Installation, click Next, select YEs on Hardware Driver installation, click yes, it shows all Drivers, choose Audio Driver, and click Install.Restart the PC, and check if the issue has fixed. If not, go to Control panel->Sound, on PlayBack Tab, right click on empty Space, select Show Disabled Devices, Show Hidden Devices, select Speakers, and click Set Default, play a file in Media Player, check to see if it works.

I am still using iTunes Version 7.0.2.16, and due to my failing computer, I am unable to upgrade to a newer iTunes version.
I am about to replace my old computer and the new computers all seem to come with Windows Vista Home Premium.
Do you know if Windows Vista Home Premium supports iTunes Version 7.0.2.16?
(My plan is to install this old version, copy my music directory across to the new computer, and then upgrade iTunes.)
