Why I can't login as a sysdba on server?

I can login as a sysdba under DOS prompt on my PC but can't on the server. Why?

Did you happen to get an answer for this yet? I set up icloud on my phone 3 months ago and have used it. Now my phone is lost so I'm trying to login on the computer (first time doing that) with my icould email and password, and I get the same message? If I can't login to icloud.com, I can't use the FindMyPhone app...

sqlplus, listener and EM Console all work well. I guess the problem is IP address. Please see the following output:

But the Network Configration tool shows that the IP address is 192.168.0.10 and the corresponding Host name is localhost.localdomain. The output is not same with the previous one.

Why I can,t login???

Hi guys.I'am starting with Oracle db 10g.I just had installed db on windows xp, and it works vell.
When I tried connect to SQL Plus form start menu, I just can't do it, this is what I get "listener doesn't currently know of servise requested in connect descriptor "????
When I login from CMD, I can log as "sqlplus /nolog" , and "sqlplus hr/pass", but I can't login as SYSDBA, SYS.
What to do?

In 10g you have to edit listener.ora file and add sid parameter.
One reason is default listener registration is DYNAMIC you have to change DYNAMIC to STATIC.
edit your listener.ora file like below

Can't login to Mac OS X server website after password reset

Hi,
I set up Mac OS X server for our small company and tried resetting the password of my network account that is managed via profile manager.
So, under Accounts->User->MYUSERNAME->reset Password, I typed in a new one and hit ok.
Now I can't login to the server website anymore (for editing our wiki or using profile manager etc.), neither with the new one nor with the old one.
I already tried different passwords (resetting it again and again), I looked at the password directive, I checked my user name, tried to login from different computers and tried logging in with another account (which worked quite fine, so it's just my account). Finally I searched the internet for a solution for quite some time but didn't find anything similar.
It would be great, if somebody could offer some advice.

Maybe it occured because I marked the "user has to change password after first login" box when resetting the password but didn't yet allow him to do so in the webpages menu?!?

Can't login to Mac OS X Server (10.3.x)

We have a server that will not display the login screen. It loads all of the services (and they are working) ie: AFP, FTP and WWW but we can't login it never displays the screen. We have tried to repair perm. and checked the drive. We tried to re-install the OS from disk and it wants to reformat the HD. We also have a Macintosh OS X Server 10.4 that we tried to load and it wants to reformat the HD before install also. We have started to copy the files off of the server and are planning on formatting the HD and loading 10.4 Server from disk. Any suggestions as to what may have caused the problem would be appreciated. We don't need this problem again.

I have iCloud on my iPhone but can't login on PC because of server error.

Not sure what I could be doing wrong but I just installed the software on my machine and restarted computer and can't login due to server error. I click on check status and everything appears to be green on the site.
What am I doing wrong? Other than not being able to convince my work to use Android devices.

You might try doing the following:
Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu>All Programs>Accessories>right-click "Command Prompt">choose "Run as Administrator").
Once in the command prompt, type "netsh winsock reset" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.
Reboot your computer.
Then try siging into iCloud again.

Can't login to solaris 8 ftp server

I can't login to my solaris 8 ftp server from another computer. When I type in the username (root) and my password (the password I use to login to my CDE), it tells me that the password is incorrect. I am a beginner at this, and any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
If you must log into the ftp server as root for some reason you have to first edit the ftpusers file. This file lists all the users who can not use ftp. The file is found here /etc/ftpusers. If you remove the entry root from this file it will allow root to log into the ftp server.

When i try to login to imessage it says "The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later."
There is the same problem with FaceTime.
I'm using mac os x mountain lion and the last version of iMessage

But why was I able to upload the photos some of the time, but not all of the time? I could upload right after I installed the firefox for several days, but then all of a sudden it didn't work any more. There must be a way to do it. I was told by MRIS that using firefox works for most users. What could be the problem for me? I think I have the newest version of firefox.
