Why I cannot use FaceTime audio?

I bought my iPhone 5 in China, where the FaceTime audio is banned. But now I stay in the United States, I still cannot use this great function. I don't understand why? Is there anyone who fixes this problem? Could you please do me a favor? Thank you.

I had this problem too, and found out that the issue was with my router.  Apple posted an article regarding this issue.  I have tried many other routers and they all just work, but the 1st one I tried gave me much grief connecting.  The apple support article can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4245

    Nobody here could possibly answer your question as presented. Have you tried any troubleshooting steps at all?
    Quit the app store completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    If that doesn't work ... A few more details from you might help you get your problem resolved.

    Check your settings to make sure Siri is actually enabled.  Sometimes I find that Siri will disable during the updating process.  Oh, and it should be iOS 6.0 not 6.1.  6.1 doesn't exist...yet.

    You cannot use an existing @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com address to become an Apple ID because they either already are one or are associated with an existing one, and in the latter case these cannot be moved to another ID.

  • FaceTime Audio Issue? Every call from iPhone 6 to iPhone 6 uses FaceTime Audio

    I have a Iphone 6.  My wife has a iPhone 6.  We have used FaceTime Audio a few times in the past to connect when I was traveling internationally and / or no reception but I had wifi.  My problem is now EVERY call is connecting us via FaceTime Audio despite NOT attempting to connect that way.  In both our contacts I have changed the phone number field labeled iPhone to the field labeled mobile From the one labeled iPhone.   We are both aware on how to make a FaceTime Video and / or Audio call and are NOT doing it that way.  Pretty strange.  Nothing against FaceTime audio but I would prefer to make the decision on when to connect that way and when to not.  Any help is appreciated.

    thanks for the suggestion unfortunately that did not work.  Deleated each others contacts and made a NEW one with a Variant of each others names so that it was completely new entry.  Same thing.  Every call is FaceTime audio.  I am really perplexed.

    I upgraded my 2 Iphones with IOS7. Since then, I cannot use facetime anymore with one of the iphones. My other iphone as well as my ipad did not have any issue with the upgrade. I really need face time for both phones.

    While ios 6 is compatable with the iPhone 4, many of its features are not available for the 4. The features need the 4s or 5. See here:
