i download adobe flash player for my macbook pro, but nothing that requires adobe flash player works. i haven"t tried much, but only because i have no idea what to do.

After you've installed Flash Player (you have to mount the disk image by double-clicking and the double-click the insatller package) restart your browser and go to youTube, for example, -> http://www.youtube.com/ - and see if the videos play.

  • Anyone know why i cant install protools on my macbook pro

i need assistance... i have the macbook pro version 10.5.2 and im trying to install mobile pre m audio box ad protools SE.  Its not working can you help?

Sounds like a compatibility issue - check to be sure that the software version you have will run with that OS.  The latest version, for example, requires 10.6.7 or later and at least 2 GB of RAM and other hardware specs.

  • Why are some songs distorted on my Macbook Pro but not on my iPhone 4?

I purchased the new Patrick O'Hearn album through my iPhone 4 (latest iOS) with the ITUNES app. When I got home and synced the phone with my 2008 Macbook Pro (Lion with latest patches) and began playing the album through my desktop speakers, some passages of the music seemed distorted or over-driven. At first I suspected a poor digital encoding of the music, or problems with the cable or speakers. I plugged the cable directly into the headphone jack of the iPhone and the music played perfectly, and without distortion.
So, the problem is the MBP, or iTunes. Can anyone offer suggestions to remedy this?

I had Sound Enhancer checked. When I removed that option the distortion was still there but was reduced.
I played several similar songs (same artist, same levels, similar composition) that I have had for a long time and found no distortion at all. The old songs had been ripped from the CD to MP3 format or purchased as MP3 from Amazon.
So it doesn't appear to be hardware related (MBP, cables, Speakers), but instead may be encoding (AAC) or DAC related to differences between MP3 and AAC.
    Still looking for a solution.

  • I need to restore an external backup on my macbook pro but the "command R" function isn't working at startup. What do I do now?

I've had a bunch of things replaced on my macbook pro, which meant that the hard drive was wiped. I did a full backup on an external hard-drive but now I can't restore it. Apparently I need to press Command and R upon startup (when the grey screen appears) but I've tried this numerous times and nothing happens. Any help would be g

Try restarting holding the option key for the startup manager

In the OSX BootCamp Assistant did you download the "Windows Support Software" (aka BootCamp Windows Drivers) and installed them after the Windows Installation ?

  • Why cant i upgrade my 17in macbook pro (s/w 10.6.8)to mavericks

why cant i upgrade my 17in macbook pro (s/w 10.6.8)to mavericks?  I do not know what month it was built.  I bought it as a refurbished by Apple a few months ago.

Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks/Yosemite.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) model number 7,1 or higher
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) model number 5,1 or higher
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) model number 2,1 or higher
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Xserve (Early 2009) model number 3,1 or higher
    Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory (More is better - 4 GB minimum seems to be the consensus)
8 GB or more of available space
Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.
    Application Compatibility
    Applications Compatibility (2)
    Do a backup before installing.
Your iMovie and iPhoto data should be good, but you will have to upgrade the applications.
If you decide the upgrade isn't worth it, you can share Mail, Calendars, and Contacts running Snow Leopard. Based on my experience, I don’t recommend syncing Contacts - created a lot of problems with duplicates. If you have 2 step verification enabled on your Apple ID, you will need to generate an application specific password for Mail, iCal, and Address Book. Apple ID - Manage
Snow Leopard iCloud - Address and iCal
    Snow Leopard iCloud –  iCal
Snow Leopard iCloud - Configuring Mail with Mac OS X v10.6 or iOS 4

  • HT201335 I want to watch an iTunes rental video on my MacBook Pro but stream the sound to my Airport Express linked speakers.  However re Airplay icon doesn't show up in iTunes when playing the rental video.  Is there a way around that?

I want to watch an iTunes rental video on my MacBook Pro but AirPlay the audio to my AirPort Express linked speakers.  However the AirPlay icon isn't available when arching the rental video in iTunes.   Is there another way?  Do I need to but an AppleTV?  I don't own a TV, hence why I want to watch on my MacBook Pro.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
With or without an Apple TV you can't send video to one device and audio to another using AirPlay.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
AirPlay Mirroring is supported on your Mac, but it needs OS X Mountain Lion (10.8). See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404
    You have two possibilities:
    1. Make a backup, open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion to upgrade to this OS X. Then, you will find the AirPlay Mirroring icon at the top right of the display, on the menu bar, or on System Preferences > Displays.
    2. Keep OS X Lion and use AirParrot > http://www.airparrot.com
Both options work properly, but I recommend AirPlay Mirroring as it doesn't need a third-party program
