Why I have to disable firewall if use laptop wlan ...
I am using 5800. I setup a shared connection on my laptop, and then5800 could connect to Internet using the wlan through wirelessconnection.
But I noticed that every time, if I want the connection could becreated, I have disable the firewall on the laptop. Even when usingZone Alarm as the fire wall and add the wireless network into thetrusted zone, the connection could not be established if I do notshutdown the Zone Alarm.
I would like to know if there has way to make the connection established without shutting down the firewall.

I've a 5800 and the same setup as u.. I'm trying to access the internet in my 5800 through the laptop's WLAN and the laptop has ethernet internet(LAN). I have a user-id password set up to connect to the internet from my lap. I'm able to set up the WLAN between the lap and the mobile but not browse it says no gateway reply.. I suspect the problem lies with the ICS (Internet connection sharing) in the laptop. I use Vista in mine. Can u please give me a walkthrough, setting up the lap and the mobile to access internet. ?

3)Click on the Status tab and take note of DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses...
4) Goto the XBox Network Settings and IP Address Settings and select manual IP Settings and assign the following on your Xbox, IP Address :- 192.168.1.20, Subnet Mask :- 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway :- 192.168.1.1...
5) Also assign the DNS Addresses on the Xbox, Use DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses you took note off of the router status tab as Primary DNS & Secondary DNS for the xbox...
6) Turn off your modem, router, and Xbox...Wait for a minute...
7) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and test it...it will connect... -
Why does no script cancel my java script settings? I have to disable it to use half my applications.
Even when I check to be sure javascript IS enabled (it always is) I still get notices that I need to enable javascript. Getting to my spam filter so I can "select all" I want to delete requires exiting, disabling no script, and logging back on. I get warnings on both eBay and Paypal. This may be an improvement in terms of threats, but as it is now offered it is a profound and annoying waste of time.
NoScript is an excellent extension, but it isn't for the less technically inclined user - there's a steep learning curve, and it requires continuous input unless you visit the same exact websites everyday.

Why do have to disable Yahoo automatic updates all the time?
I used to be able to open Firefox, and then open my Yahoo mail account without having to go through the additional step of disabling automatic updates. How can I permanently disable automatic updates, so I don't have to do it every time?
If you are using home sharing then yes. Only photos used for the screensaver are temporarily cached, nothing else is stored. There is no need to restore the unit in order to view photos from your computer's library.

how do you remove back up data from the memory storage? my storage data states that i have over 80gb of data used for back ups and i dont know why as i use a external hard drive as a time machine .now my 250gb flash storage is nearly full.. HELP!
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.

I used to have iTunes 4.3.1, something like that, it kept asking me to upgrade but i had an older ipod so i couldnt. I recently broke my ipod so now i have one for itunes 10.5.3.3 because my ipod came shipped with ios5.0 installed. So i tried to update itunes, didnt work. I uninstalled it, didnt work. I disabled firewall and antiviurs, didnt work. Ive called tech support, as soon as the person hung up thinking that it was working, it stopped working. I REALLY LOVE MUSIC and want songs on my new ipod. Please someone help....

i am unable to download updates for my iphone 4 using my pc. i have turned off firewall and spam however the downloadkeeps stopping about halfway through saying i have been disconnected from the network and to check my settings. very frustrating! help!
Hi Jen. My daughter just compleated her nursing program and is now working as a full time nurse. Focus and study hard and soon you will be there too. Now to the problem at hand. I have the same problem. I gave up on it and satisfied myself with my iPod without the upgrade. Reason being I've read so many posts of people having problems after the upgrade. But I'm sure other factors are involved. Nevertheless here is the fix most say works to solve the problem: What ever virus protection you have installed on your computer, disable it. Then try to install the update. After that enable the protection. I had Kaspersky, and it does it's job well. The thinking is, the virus protection is blocking the upgrade. Hope this works. Charlie

I'm on 4.2.1 and keep getting timed out (err=.3259) when trying to download 4.3.3. I have tried disabling the firewall and antivirus but still no luck. Any ideas?
I had the same problem! I don't know what caused it, possibly slow Internet but I suppose my antivirus or other software could have affected it. Maybe it's an iTunes problem.
After restarting the download at least 5 times in iTunes after it timed out, I found this website. I didn't know this before, but you can download the update in your browser and then apply it to your iPhone in iTunes once it finishes. I used Firefox 4 and it downloaded without timing out once. All you have to do is hold down Shift and then click on Update in iTunes and it will prompt you to select the update that you downloaded and it will apply it.

Hi, My Lightroom CC is showing waiting for connection and the mobile sync is not working. I have tried deleteing lrsync data, disabling firewall, checked host file etc. Still no luck.
I had the same problem. It fixed itself when I opened Internet Explorer (I don't normally use it). I was opening Support Portal to get some support help, but I'm not sure if it was the page or simply opening IE that did the trick.

Why can I not disable the guest user in the 10.8.2 update? I have never enabled the guest user, but after the update, it was automatically enabled with a "managed" tag. It is not selectable even after entering my admin password to unlock the options. I was able to select the account under "parental controls", but again, could not delete it. Why Apple? Why?!!????
SOLVED Ok. I actually was able to disable it. I had to actually log in as the guest user to make it accessible in the preference window. Then I disabled it and logged out. Apologies if this was obvious for some people, but I have had some sort of issue with something every update since Snow Leopard.

I have AppleTV and Ipad2 running VJay app to my TV over a private cisco router disabled firewall but I keep loosing the video on my TV after a few minutes what can I do?
I also get this problem on my iPad, so probably not related to the AppleTV. On the iPad I restarted Airport Extreme this time, and then the iPad saw my Home Sharing.
So to recap, restarting the router or Airport Express allowed the iPad and AppleTV to see Home Sharing. Restarting AppleTV also allows AppleTV to see Home Sharing.
So does anyone have any idea?

When I call someone using FaceTime from my mac, they can see me but not hear me. Is there something I need to do to make this happen? I also have an iPad 2 and FaceTime works great on it if I call somebody. Why no sound from my mac FaceTime using a mac pro and isight camera, mike combo.

Try turning down the speak volume (System Preferences->Sound->Output->Output Volume) or the microphone gain (System Preferences->Sound->Input->Input Volume). Do this on both sides of the call. -
My Ipod touch says disabled connect to itunes I try and it says cannot connect it has a passcode that needs to be entered to connect but thats why I have to get into itunes because I can't get in my Ipod what do I do?
Place the iPod in Recovery mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes.
