Why ibooks is so large (7 Go) while there in no documents?

THe size of iBooks is 7 Go while there is no document. pdf and epub has been deleted.
how can i reduce the size of this app?

So it looks like the real answer I need is: how do I reduce file size but keep as close to HD quality as possible.  I know there's no magic formula but I think I'm tired of trial and error / survival. I don't understand how someone can rip a 2 hour DVD quality movie into 700MB but one of our ultra compressed, 5 minute videos we make takes up 90MB, and is nowhere near the quality of a DVD (despite being filmed in a film studio with HD cameras in the beginning).
I have over two hours of video in my book and encode as 640x480. That looks decent on an iPad, and costs about 10 MB per minute. That kept my book size to a (not entirely reasonable) 1.3 GB.
Work on your encoding process. How many minutes of video do you have in total, and how much of that is duplicated by being included more than once?
Also, Michigan, can you post your prior advice again below so that I can give you the "this solved my problem" points?  Thanks to both you and KT for all the help thus far.
I'm assuming that your spell correction gizmo had a shot at "fixing" my name
Don't worry about the points--get your video fixed instead

  • Proc_getObject with nolock causes "read operation on a large object failed while sending data to the client"

SharePoint 2013 code for the SharePoint Config database stored procedure dbo.proc_getObject has been changed from SharePoint 2010 with the difference of select with nolock.
I am seeing numerous Error 7886, Severity-20 errors nightly:
"A read operation on a large object failed while sending data to the client. A common cause for this is if the application is running in READ UNCOMMITTED isolation level. This connection will be terminated."
Here I have commented out "with (nolock)" to 'fix' the error and to align the store proc with SharePoint 2010 code :
    ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[proc_getObject]
    @Id uniqueidentifier,
    @RequestGuid uniqueidentifier = NULL OUTPUT
    AS
    SET NOCOUNT ON
    SELECT
    Id,
    ParentId,
    ClassId,
    Name,
    Status,
    Version,
    Properties
    FROM
    Objects --with (nolock)
    WHERE
    Id = @Id
    RETURN 0
How is this stored procedure called and for what use?
Why did Microsoft make this change to SharePoint 2013 - some performance gain through dirty reads at the cost of stability? Or what could be a reason for this to happen that can be fixed?

GetObject retrieves any farm object that is selected (by ID). Changing this is obviously not supported, and NoLock was used to (help) prevent locks when performing a select query.
I've never seen this issue, and would guess it is unique to your environment given this is such a core piece of the SharePoint infrastructure.

My friend has over 2,000 photos on her iphone and it only used 1.7 GB of space and I know I had at one point over 3,000 photos on my phone and still had space left for more.
    Any tips are greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Melissa.

When you open your camera app, does it say "HDR on" at the top?
HDR photos are better quality but take up much more space.
Also, go to Settings>photos and camera.  Scroll down to "keep normal photo".  Is it on?  This feature saves a normal copy and an HDR copy of every photo you take.
I bet your friend has this feature turned off along with the HDR as well.

When I have resized and saved an image in Photoshop (CS, version 8.0 for Mac) using image size, why is it so large when I open it in preview or another image viewer? Has it actually saved according to the size I specified?

You want to view the image at the Print Size, which represents the size that shows in the Image>Resize Dialog.
    View>Print Size
Since screen resolution is almost always lower that the print resolution (somewhere between 72 and 96 usually), images will always look bigger on the screen, unless you view them at print size.
(apple Retina displays have a much higher resolution than normal screens, closer to the average print size resolution)

  • Why do we deactivate the extract structure while doing extraction

Hi experts please let me know
why do u deactivate the extract structure while doing extraction

    Hi,
We will never deactivate the extract structure while doing extraction.
When we try to appends some new fields to the extract structure, then automatically it gets deactivated. After we append the fields, we have to activate extract structure and data source.
Finally, the DS has to be replicated in BW.

If you're not running iOS 8 as you describe you are not, and Siri keeps coming on, this could be a hardware failure of the Home Button.
    Try these steps:
Basic Troubleshooting Steps when all else fails
    - Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear.  (For iOS 6 older, hold down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.)
    - Relaunch the App and try again.
    - Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    - Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
    - Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
    - Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
    - Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
    - Test the issue after each step.  If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

    1. Open the camera app.
    2. Move the slider from in the bottom right from photo to video.
    3. Begin recording your video.
    4. While your video is recording, tap the camera icon in the upper right to take a photo.
    5. You'll see the shutter close on your screen each time you snap a photo.
    6. Your photos will be saved to your camera roll.
    Edit:
Just noticed you have a 4S...iPhone 5 only, sorry.

Why can't I send or receive text messages to some users from my iPad mini while there is no problem texting them from my iPhone?

With the Apple iMessage app, You can only Message with other iOS users - iPads, iPod Touch, iPhone users and Macs running Mountain Lion or higher. With your iPhone, you can send standard SMS text messages to any phone, including Android phones.
The iPad cannot send SMS messages or receive them either.

Any chance to make our own questions? Per-defined questions may not always link to personal background well and in that case people will easily forget those answers.
