Why in God's name is it that every time YOU update firefox my add-on's break? I'll stop using your browser if you are going to keep breaking the plugins platform and require plug-in developers to re-write their plugins to stay compliant! That's retarded!

every time you people update the browser 1/2 or more of my plugins end up broken. WHY? It's counter productive when I rely on some of the add-ons I use. I'll just stop using your browser. Do you know that it gives the impression that it SUCKS?! (By the way, I had updates TURNED OFF and yet it still updated? HOW?!)

  • It seems that every time I update Firefox, Firefox sync starts getting errors every time it tries to sync.

I have an hTC Mecha (Thunderbolt) running Firefox for Android, two partitions on one laptop both using Firefox as well as a desktop with two partitions both of which also use Firefox. I'm not sure how I fixed it / what fixed this issue last time, but eventually it worked perfect with the update to Fx 4. However, now that I've updated my platforms to 5.x, sync has started getting errors again. I'm not sure if it actually prevents the sync from happening. Actually, I have reason to believe the sync still works most of the time, but the errors are starting to really annoy me.
Let me know if there's any other information you need.
    All the best,
    -HG

What Firewall do you use? It's possible it is blocking Firefox from accessing the internet when it updates. Try to read [[Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet]] and [[Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can]]

  • Every time I update Firefox, my settingfor yahoo is not recognized. Why?

At the top of my screen I have settings for yahoo, amazon, news, etc.
If I click on the one for yahoo, Firefox says UNRECOGNIZED.
This happens every time I update Firefox. From three past updates and before FIREFOX did not do that.

  • Why is it that every time I restart Firefox it deletes my quick links that are located right under the address bar?

This is a recent problem and it has happened 4 consecutive times now. Every time I restart Firefox it has removed my quick links to the websites I visit most often. I didn't have a problem like this for over a year, and then it seemed to start right after some recent Firefox updates.

  • Why is it that every time I start Firefox I have to fix the proxy settings in the connection area of options?

Every time I start Firefox I have to click on Tools, go to Options, then under the Connections tab select settings and change the proxy to "no proxy" from "Manual Configuration". Why is this doing this?

  • Why do I have to reload Flashplayer 11 every time I restart Firefox?

I am running Firefox 10.0.2 I have flashplayer11-2_p6_install_win_pi32_022712 dot exe installed and can watch all videos that I encounter. BUT, every time I shut down Firefox, flashplayer is dumped and has to be reloaded the next time I start up! Symptoms are a black screen where the video should be on a web page. I understand that there is a possibility of a conflict with real player. I have tried to remove the real player plug ins but they come back every time I start firefox. I am stumped! Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks Cor-el, I have tried your suggestion of deleting the pluginreg.dat without affecting the problem.
In the Plugins tab I see Shockwave Flash 11.2.202.221. But it does not work. If I wish to use any Flash site including You Tube and many others then, before starting Firefox, I have to install Flash. If I start Firefox and then visit a Flash site I have to shut down Firefox and reload Flash before restarting Firefox. This is true on every occasion after the computer has been shut down.
Notes: I CAN watch a very few you tube videos in Firefox. Internet Explorer also shows a similar fault telling me to load the latest version of Flash Player. Apple Safari allows viewing of most youTube videos. Google Chrome allows viewing of all youTube videos!
Any other thoughts would be gratefully received!

  • Every time I update Firefox I can't get back on the internet. I have to uninstall and go back to an old Firefox.

I have an old Firefox. Every time I update to a new version, I can't get back on the internet. It tells me it can't find the server. So I have to uninstall the updated version and go back to my old version.

    Check your firewall settings.

  • Why do I get the "incorrect account name or password" error every time I launch firefox?

I've created a sync account so that my laptop and desktop can share bookmarks, history, etc., but every time I launch FF, I get the yellow bar at the bottom of windows saying:
"Sync encountered an error while syncing: Incorrect account name or password. Sync will automatically retry this action."
I go into my sync preferences and manually log into sync. It seems fine. It tells me that syncing will begin.
    Stuff syncs.
Then if I have to relaunch firefox, the same thing happens. Why is it not storing the password?
This happens on both laptop and desktop, which are Macs on Yosemite running Firefox 35.0.

See if changing the password helps.
I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.
These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.
These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

  • I have 2 questions (1 every time i open my e-mail it asked me to sign it did not do this before (2 how can i increase the font size and make it defalt

question (1 every time i go into my e-mail i need to sign in i did not have to do this before please correct this sign in page
(2 how can i keep my font size to 12.
    thank you joe ruda

    (1) Web site requires you to sign in each time
Web sites generally remember your browser by a cookie they set.
If you have changed your cookie settings (for example, by clearing them using Clear Private Data when you close the browser) or installed new third party software (security suite, system cleaner, etc.), you might be clearing the site's cookie.
In some cases, it's possible that cookies can become corrupted. To clear the site's cookies, when viewing the site:
"right-click" (Mac equivalent!) and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In that dialog, you can remove the cookies. After reloading the page, you should be required to log in again and the site will create new cookies.
    (2) Remember font size setting
Are you using a feature of your email site to increase the font? If the site can't remember that for you, then there might be an indirect solution (a hack) to fix it. Which webmail site is it? There might be a userscript available.
If you mean Firefox's zoom setting, then Firefox should remember that between visits.

  • TS1702 How do you get the press your luck app to download, it just keeps restarting the download over and over after it is almost done?

Just when it gets about finished downloadIng, the app restarts the download, and this process keeps going and going. I did everything that apple suggested, but nothing works. I haven't heard back from Ludia, the company I purchased this $4.99 app from. Any advice would be helpful at this point. Please help me.

After activating your iPad, go to the App Store and search for your free apps:
    1. Pages
    2. Numbers
    3. Keynote
    4. iPhoto
    5. iMovie
    6. GarageBand
If apps are still showing the price: sign out>reboot>and sign in again

  • I've used Firefox for as long as I can remember. I'm a Mac user and have recently needed to switch to Safari because Firefox is so slow. Help me or I'll have to stop using your browser. Bob Semchism

For several months now my experience with Firefox has been getting worse and worse. Basically you site has slowed to a crawl. Can you fix it or do I simply give up and go to Safari?

Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.
    Thanks

  • Every time I update Firefox, I get Adobe Flash plugin errors

I'm disgusted with Firefox and Adobe. Does anyone have a fix for the problem that Firefox causes every time I upgrade? (Win 7, 64 bit I think) ... I just tried to re-install v29 Firefox (which was the last version that worked) ... and got routed to something called Aurora install.
I just want to use a reliable firefox. But whenever I upgrade Firefox, and repeatedly turn off ALL security features so that I can update Adobe flash -- nothing works. Once I get this solved, I'm turning off the Firefox update check option and continue to do all my secure stuff on Chrome! I used to be a huge fan of netscape ... but this is stupid beyond belief.
Here's the error message I get:
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue.
    Script: resource://gre/modules/addons/XPIProvider.jsm -> jar:file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Firefox/browser/extensions/%7B82AF8DCA-6DE9-405D-BD5E-43525BDAD38A%7D.xpi!/bootstrap.js -> resource://gre/modules/commonjs/toolkit/loader.js -> resource://gre/modules/commonjs/sdk/loader/sandbox.js -> resource://skype_ff_extension-at-jetpack/skype_ff_extension/data/jquery-2.1.0.min.js:26

... me again ... no need to respond to this problem, I'm just not going to keep wasting time on this browser. Realistically, the posts all over the internet show that Mozilla hasn't bothered addressing this issue for YEARS, and I'm just not interested in wasting any more time or interest in hoping that they will get their act together.
Good luck, former colleagues: I hope they treat you better in the future~!
