Why iphone 4s bluetooth is not compatible with MacBook Pro 13 new

Both devices do not talk via Bluetooth. Their mutual compatibility will help in transferring stuff across both devices such as short video projects and personally designed songs.

File transfer is not a supported Bluetooth protocol of the iPhone.

I can't tell you why, but I can tell you that Apple published the list of supported hardware on its website quite a while ago. The oldest MacBook Pro model that supports Mountain Lion is the Mid/Late 2007 model. You have the late 2006 model.
Details are (and have been) here:

  • Files not compatible with macbook pro

i have difficulty opening files on my macbook pro, the senders of the files tell me to use windows as their files aren't compatible with apple. is there a way to convert files

If you take a document, and TextEdit can handle some Word files. or if you use Pages (you have to EXPORT) files to Word format.
They are providing an exe is Windows only and read-only that won't run natively on Mac OS.
Not sure what TV  has to do with this.
Use Windows 7 and VirtualBox to do your word.

  • Since when is iMovie not compatible with MacBook Pro 13-inch?

went to upload some Christmas Eve videos into iMovie and get an error messages stating the iMovie does not support my computer...which it sure allowed me to purchase, use and update as recently as September!
Since when did Apple start deciding to not make the very software they promote as idea for users, then go and make them not work on a system that is not even 1.5 years old?!!! Steve Jobs would not have agreed to something so stupid! Apple, fix the problem or you are moving more and more closer to Microsoft than I thought.
THIS IS PURE ******** AND I INTEND TO POST THIS ON EVERY MAC FORUM

Here is the message I am getting:
OK, I can edit HD video on my iPhone, but the hardware on my MacBook Pro can't handle it? Really?!! Come on Apple, I am not that stupid...and if this is the direction you were going, when are you going to finally produce a legitimate MacBook Pro 13-inch with video memory?
All of those poor college kids and other people who purchased a computer that doesn't even support a simple, feature poor video editing program, but...I can run all kinds of other labor intensive program all day long...including 3rd party HD video editing software.

Why is my iMac (G5) not compatible with mountain lion? I have 4 GB ram (667) and around 90GB hard drive space.

iMac G5 can only be upgraded to 10.5.8.
If you have continuing use, you are among the lucky ones.  I purchased many of these used from a company that shut down its American office.  Many of these eventually suffered from the "bad capacitor" problem and required a motherboard replacement from Apple.  I was lucky in that my local Genius bar approved these for no charge, even though Apple's extended warranty had expired.
My last one was my desktop Mac.  It's power supply failed in 2010 and I paid for a replacement.  In Summer 2011 when its HD failed, I decided it was time to move on and purchaed a Mac Mini, which I continue to run on Lion.

  • Is the latest 280.26 nvidia driver compatible with MacBook Pro 6,2 model?

Is the latest nvidia driver (280.26) compatible with MacBook Pro 6,2 model)? Boot Camp 4.0 comes with the 262.41 nvidia driver, but I'd like to upgrade to the latest 280.26. The official 280.26 driver page on the nvidia site says that GeForce GT 330M is compatible, but in the footnote is written this thing:
Notebooks supporting Hybrid Power technology with Intel chipsets are not supported by this release
Do you think this is the case of MacBook Pro 6,2 model? Can I upgrade the driver without any problem?
    P.S.
I've the nvidia geforce gt 330m 256 MB.

    Mac OS X 10.8.2.

  • External hard drive compatible with macbook pro 10.5.8

external hard drive compatible with macbook pro 10.5.8, i need a hard drive that will work with 10.5.8 to back everything up before upgrading to 10.6. a hard drive that is compatable with 10.5.8 has been impossible to find, a hard drive that works with both opperating systems is what i am looking for, any information that can help is appreciated

You can buy just about any USB2.0 hard drive and use it with your MacBook Pro.  Many older external drives come pre-partitioned and formatted FAT32 for use on Windows.  Your Mac can use that file system as well, but it has limitations on file sizes.  You can always re-partition your external drive and re-format it as HFS+ (MacOS Extended Journaled) then your old Mac OS version and your new one should both be able to access it just fine.  One thing to keep in mind is that many older OSes don't really handle drives larger than 2TB well, so you would probably want to try to keep your external drive to something smaller than 2TB...

Generally signing out and signing in (signing out and back into the Creative Cloud application ) will fix this. If it isn't resolving the issue for you, let us know what you see and we can try something else.

  • My iPhone 4S Bluetooth will not connect with either my iPad1, MacBook Pro or Automobile BT.  Suspect a stack issue in new BT 4.0 (BTLE) release. Has any one discovered fix to this. I have tried this with two separate 4S phones and have same problem..

One further clarification. I am most concerned with connecting with BT in automobile. I can use WiFi to tether to my other devices.  I cannot change the car very easily! My iPhone 3G had no connection issues.

I'm new.  Same bluetooth problem. Will not pair with my 2010 VW GTI w NAV system, or my MacBook Pro 17" (just discovered the MacB prob.)
When I initially discovered the problem I went to an Apple Store. Genius was excellent but requested that I check with VW.  VW people were very helpful. A mechanic had an iphone 4s. He came out to the car ... He could not pair my phone but he could pair his phone ... So, it's the iphone ... Back to the Apple Store ... the genius was really good. He replaced the iphone. Great !  So, back out to the car & it would not pair, still.  So ... can't be the phone , right.  Back to VW. The Audi manager had an iphone 4S. He paired his phone with my car. He could not pair my phone to my car. He tries my phone in a new 2011 GTI sitting on the lot ... my phone pairs with it just fine.  So ... it's my car.  So ... make an appointment to get the bluetooth module replaced. They replace the Bluetooth module. My iphone will not pair.  They end up pairing 2 different iphone 4S to my car ... but not my iphone 4S. My iphone 4S will also not pair with another 2010 GTI they have in for service. Though the 2 iphone 4S
pair with the second GTI just fine.  They even try pairing my iphone with a brand new 2012 GTI in the showroom ... yep ... it paired fine.    So ... ????????????????
They are going to update my nav software next (tomorrow), Hopeful ??? not really ... Will be taking my computer to Apple Store next ... maybe if they can discover why it will not pair to my MacBook Pro it will lead to a solution for the GTI ???  I'll get back to you.

  • IPhone 4 Bluetooth will not pair with Jawbone Icon,  Jawbone 2

Just got my iPhone today and am more or less thrilled to have it. The only problem (other than the antenna issue, which the bumper fixes beautifully) is that Bluetooth will not pair with any of my Bluetooth devices. When I turn on Bluetooth on the phone and turn on the headset, iPhone says it's "searching.." and "now discoverable" but it never discovers anything, let alone pair up. The Bluetooth on my MacBook recognized the iPhone and I was able to pair them, but no luck on the Jawbones. Sounds like a JB problem, but I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem and if there's a fix via the iPhone.

On the icon, turn it off and hold button down while sliding the power switch on. This should put it in pairing mode. Then go into your i4's bluetooth menu and give it another go. Also, Jawbone has recently updated the firmware for the Icon so you need to load it as well. I have the icon and a Jabra cruiser and both work/paired fine. You may want to try rebooting phone and retrying as well.
