Why iphone can activate Siri when it is put near ear

Dear all,
Why iphone can activate Siri automatically when the phone is put near an ear.  The magic thing is that when you put the iphone near your face, body or other object, Siri will not be activated.  How can Apple do that ?

Thanks for your good try.
I tried but Siri did not activate when I moved my iphone near other objects, except my ear.  You can have a try.  If you can work out how the magic operates, please tell me.
