Why is 30 day trial an old version?

I am a teacher learning InDesign to use with my Digital Art students (we use Photoshop, and have InDesign CS6 at school). I made a document at school and brought it home and am trying to open it using the 30 day trial version, but it is CS5.5 and tells me to upgrade to the newer version in order to open my document. I just got the trial a couple of days ago. Is there another way to update plug ins, or can I get a free trial of CS6 so I can work on my school document at home? If not, if I start over with InDesign CS5.5, will I be able to open it at school on CS6?

I find that very surprising but there could have been a glitch. I would
suggest uninstalling it and installing CS6.

LR 30 day trial purchased education version & activation code not working

Hello
I purchased a iMac 5K and had been using Aperture on my old machine. Felt this was a good time to change to LR 5.
Downloaded the 30 day trial and decided yes I was very happy the software. I purchased the education version and received my code via email. This code is not being accepted by LR 5.7.1.
Is the download version different to the one I have purchased?
Do I need to delete the version I have installed and then use the disk provided? If that is the case can I reload all my past 2 weeks changes to LR?

You’re not by any chance running the creative cloud version of LR are you?
The CC download can only be validated by subscription, not with a serial number.
If so, send it to the trash and use this download link for v 5.7.1; then enter your serial number.

I have an old MacBook laptop and it doesn't have enough memory for a new version of Firefox; why can't I keep the old version which works fine on this computer?

Please let me keep running the older version of Firefox because it works fine on my old laptop.

Numbers file keeps reverting to old version

I use Numbers (Version 3.5.2) on my MacBook Pro running (Yosemite 10.10.2) and also on my iPad air (running iOS 8.1.3) and iPhone 6 (running iOS 8.1.3). I have a file that I use to keep track of grades that is used across all three devices. In the last month the file keeps reverting back to an old version of the file. After this happens I can go into Numbers on Mac and Select "Revert to..." and select the correct version of the file. I did this yesterday and deliberately reverted to the correct version on the Mac and saved, then opened the iPad, made sure it had the correct version, made a minor change and closed the file. I then opened on the iPhone made sure it was the correct version, made a minor change and saved. I then reopened on the Mac it was the correct version and included the minor changes made on the iPad and iPhone. I saved and then closed the file. Today when I open the file on my Mac, it is back to a version that is over a month old. I again used the "Revert to.." command and was able to get back to the correct version of the file from yesterday. I can't figure out why it keeps reverting to an old version. At first I thought it was pulling in an old version from the iPad or iPhone, but after the experiment yesterday that does not seem likely. Has anyone else had this problem? It is making me seriously question the use of Numbers with documents in the cloud as I can not be certain that the data in the file is correct.

I want the old version of iPhoto back

I have been a MacBook Air user. I use to love this and has purchased another one in 2012 (version 2012) - OS X 10.9.4 (13E28). Can someone show my how to undo the latest update? Now I can no longer put captions and add frame style on my photos! IS APPLE GOING BACKWARDS? THEY GIVE YOU ALL THE GOOD THINGS IN THE BEGINNING!!
Why can't I keep the old version of iPhoto? I am so disappointed with Maverick in view of (iMovie - can't burn) and the iPhoto - it has taken away the fun in producing photos and movies. I AM NOW LOSING MY TRUST AND LOOKING AT MOVING TO SAMSUNG OR OTHER OUT THERE.

Just wait. When Yosemite comes out and includes the new Photos application we may get out keywords back. At least I'm hoping so.
In the meantime you'll have to regress back to iPhoto 8.1.2 (09) and Mt. Lion.
Or with iPhoto 9.5.1 an easy way to see which keywords are assigned to a photo is select that photo's thumbnail and type Command + K to bring up the Keyword pane for iPhoto. All keywords shown in blue are those assigned to that photo:

My Word doc files are old versions....

My computer seems to randomly revert back to old Word files. I'm updating my Cover Letter and when I go back to it the next day its some old version from months ago! No wonder I'm not getting any calls....I'm probably sending out old cover letters with my resumes! HELP!

Maybe you've got two separate files somewhere? Try using the 'search' function to see if this is the case.

Old versions of Apps not removed from iTunes

Hello All,
In iTunes I have 60 Apps on the Apps page.
In my User Folder/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications, I have 77 Applications, some named 1 2 3 etc. after the App Name.
Is it safe to remove the original, and older versions with a number added to the name?
Looking at the date in Finder, the newest App appears to be the one with the highest number added to the name.
Can I remove the original App and then remove the number from the name of the latest version, then remove the other numbered versions of the App?

Yes, you can safely delete the older versions (the lower numbers). Actually, iTunes now does delete the old versions (that was fixed in iTunes 8.0.1), and new apps are now named with their version number (e.g. AirSharing 1.0.3.ipa). But, that change only applies to apps downloaded/updated after Apple fixed that issue, so you must clean out the old ones manually.

Hey, I would like to try out Adobe Indesign CS6, I can't run Creative Cloud yet, because my Mac laptop is 8 years old and runs an older OS, so thats why I want to try and older version - where on earth can I download a 30 day trial? Downloading a new trial version while already having an old version

Can I download a new version trial without my old version being damaged, replaced or in any way messed up? Will I just have two icons (LR 6 and LR 3)?

DNGs contain the camera profile so an older LR version can process raws that are too new otherwise; however, the adjustments to do to the DNGs in LR 5 would not generally be understood by LR3.
You probably need to get the DNG Converter to work with your raw files and then process the DNGs in the older LR version.
If you have tried to convert the raws to DNGs using the DNG Converter and it didn’t work, the most likely issue is when specifying the source folder you need to be selecting (single-clicking) on the folder name where the raw files reside, rather than opening (double-clicking on) the folder.
Your idea to use LR 5 to process the images is risky if LR 6 isn’t released before the LR 5 30-day trial period expires.

MobileMe - 60 Day Trial v Paid For Version

I currently have a 60 Day trial for MobileMe, and I'm wondering if that is why my Contacts & Calendars are not syncing / being pushed out. All I am trying to do is add a contact or calendar entry on my iTouch and have it appear when I am logged into my MobileMe account on my pc. Does this require a paid for version to do this? (If it worked I would happily buy it)! Any thoughts or suggestions on this.

I'm afraid no one here can grant you an extension as every one here is a volunteer, not an employee of Microsoft. The trial is limited to 60 days and I know no way of extending the trial. Unfortunately, you also cannot re-install the trial on
the same computer. If you can create a virtual machine, you should be able to re-install the trial to that VM.
I'm afraid your instructor is going to have to help out more than directing you to ask for an extension.

Why has my InDesign 90 day trial "expired" after 20 hours?

Hi wondering if anyone could help me out here...
Last night I downloaded the free 90 day trial of Adobe InDesign and it worked perfectly fine for a few hours.
I woke up today and wanted to get started on my thesis which requires InDesign and my creative account is telling me that my trial has expired....
Any reason as to why this has happened and how do I go about fixing it?

You downloaded the creative cloud update by mistake. It will be necessary for you to uninstall Lightroom and then install using a download from this website:
Product updates
This will not do anything to your catalog for your images. So after you install the appropriate version you should be able to start right where you left off.
