Why is a very bad version of McAfee being installed when I already have a version of McAfee
I'm having a hard time understanding the logic behind this. I have to uninstall software to install the software I want because you're insisting on installing this nonsense.
O and I'm complaining to McAfee since I'm a customer and I'm sure as **** not staying with them if they keep this up.

It is a free tool given to all the adobe customers. You can uncheck the tool during installation. However I would like to inform you that it is offered through Adobe,

I will point out that I will make a complaint with the EU on the grounds of this being a way of monopolising the market, like internet explorer which is useless.
This is a user-to-user forum and there is no one here who makes any decisions for Adobe.
The "no opt out" installs have been documented and reported. Your guess is as good as mine what will come of it.
There are FULL installers which contain nothing but the Flash Player installers.
I use them myself because I don't update ANYTHING automatically, to avoid exactly what you've experienced.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Bookmark those. They don't change even when the version updates.

Trying to update Firefox from 3.6.22 to 6.0.2
I download latest version, follow directions to install (move to app folder, drag to dock) but the old version in the dock is what opens.
So I removed old version from dock, put new version in, and restarted computer for good measure.

Sites want me to download newest version of Adobe Flash Player when I already have it
I am having difficulty when at a site that I want to watch a video on (most recently a work site) and I am told I need to update Adobe Flash Player. I double check andI Have the same version I am being insructed to download. I tried going to Security under System Prefences and under Apps allowing from anywhere in case that was the problem. Still, I cannot watch the video. Any ideas of the problem? I was just watching videos from this same work site without this coming up. I have also had it come up on other sites (less trusted than this site) and could not watch the video because of the same reason. Ihave AdobeFlashPlayer set to automatically update.
Assuming Allan's advice is not correct, and you do run the installer, I think I've heard of that problem and it involves removing the old Flash plug-ins, then install the new version. I don't use it so I don't know what they are called, but will be the /Library/Internet Plug-ins folder.
You can go here and enable HTML5 in YouTube so you don't have to use Flash: http://www.youtube.com/html5
Most(?) of the content is HTML5, but you may run into videos where you still need Flash. -
I am having same problem with apple tv need 4.4 version and can not find solution this a brand new product out of box yesterday why would it not already have updated version. Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.) -

Have you created an iCloud account? This is not the account or ID you use for iTunes. And where exactly are you turning on notes? In what area within settings of your devices?

When I click on apps in Creative Cloud (via taskbar icon) it shows only Photoshop CC as installed and Lightroom as something to be installed! I already have LR 5.7 installed and this has been updated through CC. I dont understand why it's now showing as it needs to be installed!?!? It wasn't like this the last time I looked.

I have installed a beta version the SDK. Trying to install the GA release gives me the message "You already have this version installed."
So lame! I had the same problem, and unfortunately the solution is not nice. I uninstalled the old beta, and then went through the registry and removed everything that said "javafx", then reinstalled with the latest JavaFX. Believe me, I'm not happy about this :-(.

Since you are running Lion, you will not see Exposé & Spaces - they don't exist in Lion.
Their function, that of multiple desktop arrangements, has been replaced by Mission Control.
You may have accidentally set up Mission Control; or inadvertantly activated it. The latter is easy to do if you're using a Magic Mouse - a two-finger double-tap (not click) on the mouse will engage Mission Control.
The two-finger double-tap can be deactivated in System Preferences > Mouse > More Gestures. Uncheck the Mission Control item, and it won't respond that way to a two-finger double-tap again. You can then still access Mission Control via its icon in the Dock.
To get rid of extra desktops in Mission Control, activate Mission Control. Then hover the cursor over the desktop you'd like to remove; a circled-X will appear in one corner of that disktop - click it and that desktop will be removed. Any open program using that desktop will then be moved to another, yet-available desktop.
There is a control pane for Mission Control in System Preferences. Selecting that will allow you to make some settings re how Mission Control behaves, including the setting/clearing of a hot corner.
