Why is AE running so slow?
So this is my first time using After Effects CC on my newly built PC. I imported a 15 min long 1080p 60FPS video into AE, and it is basically unusable! The entire interface lags, it won't even play the video, it takes forever to move the time indicator, the effects take years to render, and it won't even respond when I try to add the comp to the Adobe Media Encoder queue. Meanwhile this video edits and runs smoothly in Final Cut Pro X on my early 15" MacBook Pro. What gives? The PC specs include an i7 4770k OCed to 4.2 GHz, 8 GB of RAM 1600MHz, GTX 780 Ti OCed to 1.2 GHz, and a WD Black 7200 RPM 1TB HDD.
Not only in certain effects or plug-ins.
After Effects CC is very, very slow, both opening as saving.
5 or 6 times SLOWER than its prececessor. the CS6 (the relatively fast).
LET'S WORK ON THAT?

I have other mac's on my home network that are still running Snow Leopard and the are performing well. I wanted to use the iCloud so I upgraded and instantly started experiencing the slow down, to the point of ridiculousness. Other function are mixed some normal speed, others a day on the beach with the spinning ball. Firefox is at full speed, good thought, haven't checked Chrome yet.
Last night and hooked into a projection unit that adjusted my screen resolution for a presentation and after the event my Mac reset back to the normal settings and Safari launched and is running normal speeds so far. In the past there have been issues with performance speeds and certain resolutions, has anyone had similar luck or is this a fluke? -

How can i find out what or why mac is running so slow ?
My Mac is running as slow as a week in jail , how can i find out what is causing it , I have 1TB memory , using 635 of it at the moment. i'm using version 10.7.1 , lion. It just seems so slow to respond to anything , start up , open an app , go from one song to another in iTunes , go from one event to another in iPhoto , everything is slow . any ideas out there folks ? I'd appreciate the help.

Can be Add-ons. Start up Fx in Safe Mode to test by holding down the Option key. This will run without any Add-ons. If it's OK like that, disable them all and then add them back one at a time to see which one is responsible.

Have a iPhone 4s but IOS8 but why does it run so slow?
Updated to the ios8 platform. took out a few songs for the download. but everything is running so slow. i don't have a lot of apps. and not a lot of the apps are running. is this a issue or just do i need to upgrade?
What are you doing in Aperture? Have you imported a large iPhoto library? Then Aperture probably is still doing massive setup work in the background - indexing the content, building previews, scanning for faces and places. This may take several hours or several days, depending on the size of your library.
But your hardware is not optimal for Aperture. If your machine is not maxed out with 2 GB RAM, try to upgrade this. You will have much more joy with more RAM. Also check, if you are running out of disk space. The operating system will need at least 10GB of free disk space asworking space to run smoothly, but more free space is advisable. An overfull disk will slow the system down considerably - try to keep at least 20% of the system drive free - or more, as our hardware experts will tell you.
You can check for bottlenecks by launching the Activity Monitor from the Applications > Utility folder. This will tell you, which processes are using most of the CPU time, the memory usage, the disk writes.
In addition to this, Aperture has its own Activity viewer. You can lauch it from the "Windows" menu. here you can see the active Aperture activities and the progress they are making.

Probably nothing.
You might turn on the "Activity" window in Aperture, to see what Aperture is doing (from Aperture's main menu bar: "Window > Show Activity". After importing it will need plenty of time to render previews, detect faces, assign places, etc. Best let it run over night.
Other things that might be a problem:
Aperture will slow down, if the project are too large. Did you import all images into one single project? Keep the projects small, not much larger than about 200 images per project.
And if your harddisk becomes full, you may slow down the mac considerably.Try to keep at least 20 GB of your harddisk free.
You may have imported a corrupted image or an incompatible video. If that is the case, than Aperture will try over and over again to render a preview and not succeed. It might help, to disable the rendering of previews, until you have spotted the video or image that is causing the problem

iTunesU is running very slowly on machines using Windows 7 and iTunes 10. It works fine on Windows XP withe iTunes 10. Why is it slow in iTunes 10 and Windows 7?
Yes. It does seem to be specific to 10.2.2 Other versions are working fine. In windows XP 10.2.2 has not given me any problems. But on Windows 7 it appears to be frozen for about 5 minutes then it starts working but it still lags. Are you Apple people going to address this? Is this something that can be fixed with another update?

Why is Thunderbird running very slow on Windows 7 CAUSE: McAfee
Installed Thunderbird ver 31.6.0 on my desktop Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1, 32bit, 4G ram, Intel i5 2.66 GHz,
a few months ago and it ran great at first.
Now that I've used it awhile it has slowed down considerably.
All functions of Thunderbird are slow, clicking to highlight a group of messages, deleting even just a single message, opening a message, etc.
It has compacted the folders several times, and I do not have a large number of stored messages (maybe total of all folders including trash, spam, sent, etc is around 500).
I am running McAfee Anit-Virus which does scan email attachments.
Has there been reports of slow performance with Thunderbird on Win7?
Perhaps my problem is caused by McAfee?

The reason why time capsule running so slow
Temperature is the killer of Time Capsule!
I am live in Hong Kong, a very hot city, and using 500GB TC for a few weeks and experiencing all the problem other user mentioned already in this Forum. Base on my experience, if I turn on Time Capsule and running in Room temperature, it only running slowly and slowly and slowly! But after i turn on my room air-conditioner, TC working fine without any problem~~~
The reason why TC can't work in room temperature (I guess) is TC using Server HardDisk which designed for high performance server and running in GOOOOOOOOD temperature controller environment~~
If you don't have or don't want to turn on air-con. for TC, turn to put a big FAN near your TC and I hope it help.Read the specs of TC - it clearly states that max operating temperature shouldn't exceed 35 degrees Celsius. Place a thermometer next to TC and monitor the temperature - you'll see that area around TC is always few to several degrees higher than your room temperature in any other place. So, if you are not using AC then your room temperature easy gets now to well above 30 C when outside is exactly 30 C. All your computer stuff and your body are generating heat and adding to the temperature. Thus you are for sure exceed max allowed operating temperature of 35 C around TC.
Also TC needs humidity below 80% (non condensing) to operate - at this moment there is 91% humidity in HK and if you are not running AC and keep windows open then you are again trying to operate TC in humidity well above max allowed.
TC's Environmental requirements:
Operating temperature: 50° to 95° F (10° to 35° C)
Relative humidity (operational): 20% to 80% (non-condensing)
Keep AC on at all time in HK my friend, except in the winter when humidity goes down. And keep good device monitoring temperature and humidity next to TC as well.
