Why is AirDrop transfer failing?

I have a mid 2010 Mini and a late 2010 Mac Book Pro that I'm trying to transfer a photo between using AirDrop. I was able to successfully transfer the Xcode install file from my Mini to the laptop earlier this week using it, but now when i try to transfer the photo file (or any other file), I get an error messages in AirDrop on my Mini that says "The transfer failed. Please try again". I can send files from the laptop to the Mini no problem.
The console output looks like this:
Jul 27 21:44:27 My-Name-Mac-mini Finder[192]: AirDrop P2P link retained (1)
Jul 27 21:44:27 Peter-Browns-Mac-mini Finder[192]: WormholeClient::didFail(kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork, -1200, "An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made.")
Jul 27 21:44:29 My-Name-Mac-mini Finder[192]: AirDrop P2P link released (0)
Jul 27 21:44:29 My-Name-Mac-mini Finder[192]: Terminate AirDrop P2P link

Having the same issue. Airdrop was working a few days ago, now all of a sudden sending files from my MBP the transfer fails, but when my gf sends me a file from her MBP it goes thru right away, and works the way its supposed to.
I have tried restarting, and relaunching Finder, but to no avail.
using a USB key for now....

  • Airdrop transfer failed because of sleep?

So I have transferred files via Airdrop before but today I ran into this problem where my Macbook told me that my iMac cancelled transfer and iMac told me that transfer was cancelled because my iMac went to sleep. I searched for others having a similar issue but didn't come across anyone else. How can this happen ? My iMac's sleep settings are set to their default in Energy Saver preferences.

I've always wondered why one can wakeup the machine for Ethernet but not for wireless, but it appears that Apple disables wireless in such a way that applications cannot force it to remain active even during sleep so transfers won't be aborted. Unfortunately, other than knowing the wireless is dissble during sleep I don't know more about it.
If I'm on a wireless connection and need to leave the computer unattended (or just don't wish to be bothered with keeping it awake) then I just modify Energy Saver accordingly. Better safe than sorry, as they say.

  • Can you resume an unfinished/failed Airdrop transfer?  Where do the unfinished transfer files go?  Thanks in advance!

Can you resume an unfinished/failed Airdrop transfer?
Where do the unfinished transfer files go?
I was 75% thru a 8 gig transfer before I had to stop.  Just wondering if there's a way to resume instead of starting all over, otherwise I'll break up the files into smaller segments I transfer in the future.

  • Transfer Failed sending mail to GWIA

In the process of migrating a GW8.0.3 system to SuSE. Two servers, one for primary domain and post office, and second for secondary domain and gwia. All went for the most part well. Issue with GWIA and sending mail to internet. It is receiving mail fine now, but when users send email to the gwia from the client they get Transfer Failed. I have checked the usual things, but all seems to be setup correctly. This is not a migrated GWIA, I decided to delete the old one and create a new one. Had issues in the past where migrated GWIA's don't go smooth.

This is why the basics are just that. They stay a constant for a long
    time.
It is almost a disease that so many in our industry discount information
just because it is old. I've made it a bit of a habit to stash old useful
information for that reason as too many people (PHBs' especially) like
getting rid of things just because they are old.
The Wayback Machine does help with this problem a little bit.

  • Why should Adobe Reader fail to print because of settings in the Edit/Preferences?

    AdobeReaderDocumentCouldNotPrint.txt
Glyn Price Tue 17 March 2015
Why should Adobe Reader fail to print because of settings
    in the Edit/Preference?
    Adobe Reader XI Version 11.0.10
    MS Window 7
    File > Print > Print
    I got the error message:
The document could not be printed
I googled this error message and used the following
solution that worked i.e. it then printed successfully.
    Edit >  Preferences
Category: Security(Enhancement)   'Enable Protected  Mode at Startup'
It was checked, changed it to unchecked.
Category: Documents    'View documents in PDF/Mode'
It was set to 'Only for PDF/A'
    Set it to 'Never'
Exited Adobe Reader and restart it. Then it printed.
I had a look on another computer system (Adobe Reader XI Version 11.0.10
and MS Window 7) and on this different computer I could print
without doing the above two changes.
I'm a bit puzzled. Why preferences on one system were not
    needed on a different system?

Here is an elaborate method of troubleshooting this problem. There may be a simpler method if anybody wants to suggest one.
There is a general technique that is helpful in this situation. I can't give you complete instructions here, and I haven't tested this with regard to bluetooth devices, but here's the gist of it.
Create a second log-on account for your music projects. Configure it so that when you log in to the new music account, the drivers needed for the Bluetooth devices don't load. You do this in System Preferences: Accounts.
When it's time to do music, log out of your usual account and onto the new one.
When you install drivers for any peripheral, you have the option of installing them "for all users" or only for the user account that is active during the installation.
This governs whether the drivers go in root/library or root/Users/your name/library.
If drivers are in root/library, they will load whenever the Mac is booted up and will run for all users.
But if drivers are loaded in root/Users/your name/library, they will only load if you log in as "your name". If you have a second account called root/Users/music account/, and you log in under that, the drivers in "your name" will not load. Get it?
To get this working right you need to be knowledgeable about moving or deleting files in the /library/ directory and subdirectories, and you need to be careful because you can unwittingly cause some damage if you are not careful.
There is also the root/System/library directory, and in general you should never mess around with anything in there or you might hose your system.
In summary, I would start by using the installer programs for your BlueTooth devices and DE-installing all drivers. Reboot. Log back in as your usual user account. Then RE-install each driver and see if the installer program gives you the OPTION to installl for all users or just for this user. Choose the latter. Then log on to your new Music account and see if the problems go away.

  • Im trying to publish a web gallery to BC, my settings seem correct but I'm still getting an  error: FTP transfer failed ' unknown error'. Techs on BC, say FTP working fine. Please help!

    Hey peeps,
Im trying to publish a web gallery to be hosted on BC. Despite having what seem the correct settings im getting an error: FTP transfer failed ' unknown message'. Have checked with techs on BC. They say FTP working fine that end.
    Any suggestions?

Have you tried connecting to another FTP server in Lightroom?
For example, if you get a free Flickr account, can you login to it and upload a file to it?
If you can't upload to any server, then you have a general FTP-in-Lr problem, but if problem is only with BC then, well, it's time to start scrutinizing the BC settings..
PS - All my FTP'ing plugins have an enhanced FTP settings test feature designed to help you debug FTP settings, so another option is to download one of them, for example:
    robcole.com - FTPAggregator
    and experiment with settings tester:
To get here, you have to click 'View / Edit Additional Settings' (in plugin manager), then choose 'New' or 'Edit' from 'Sync Pairs' drop-down menu.
If test is unsuccessful, enable verbose logging (top section of plugin manager), and review the log file after test, or send to me.
If you have a problem running plugin, please contact me directly:

  • Why is auto tagging failing?

Everytime I try to auto-tag any of the scripts I'm currently working from I get an error message, "Auto tagging has failed, please try again later". Is this aspect of the service down. I just upadated my Adobe Air to see if that was the problem but it still persists.

I am having the same issue. I have tried creating a new film script from scratch with only a few lines and auto tagging everytime. "Auto tagging has failed, please try again later". Anyone know why auto tagging is failing? Are there any logs to see what the issue is?

  • TFTP 'configuration update' from 5508 WLC fails stating reason as '%Error: Config file transfer failed – Unknown error –refer to log'

    Dear Experts,
I have two WLCs and other management devices as part of same subnet. I am able to upload ‘configs’ from all the devices on to my TFTP server. However when I am attempting to do the same from one of my WLC, it is failing consistently stating error message as:
‘%Error: Config file transfer failed – Unknown error –refer to log
Has anyone else too faced the same issue and how would we overcome this? Any specific debug that could help get more details on it?
Though the error message says, refer to log but still I don’t see anything that gets reflected in ‘Monitor logs’ which is related to ‘configuration file’ upload failure.
    WLC code: 7.4.100.0
    PFA as the error snippet.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Adnan

    Hi Kaneswaran,
Just a soft reboot helped me solved the problem :). Still I am on 7.4 and facing no issues after this.
Apologies for coming too late to respond. Getting a down time window was not that easy and so was much delayed to try soft reload. I am still on 7.4 and facing no issue.
Glad that in your case it starting working all of a sudden. Could you please verify from 'show tech-support' to confirm if by chance your WLC had undergone any crash that could have caused the WLC to reload and thus accidently fixing the issue :)
    Best Regards,

  • PO replicated into backend but remains on status I1132 (Transfer Failed)

    Hi,
we are on SRM 5.5 ECS, we have a PO in SRM that is on status I1132 - Transfer Failed. But however we see the PO in ECC backend, so it is transfered now.
The status is not being updated even not after manually running BBP_GET_STATUS_2 , CLEAN_REQREQ_UP and also not after a retransfer to backend with BBP_PD_PO_TRANSFER_EXEC_V2.
Is there any way to solve this issue, update the status ? Because PO is now also not available for user to perform any Goods Receipts on it..
    Status         Description                    Inactiv

check BBP_DOCUMENT_TAb table... if you can find the PO there with the idoc number... how many entries are there? and what are the idoc status in WE02 for those?

  • Transfer Failed message when trying to send pics via bluetooth

I used to have no problem sending pictures from my LG Vu to my Macbook Pro via bluetooth but ever since I sent my Mac in for repair and got it back from apple it no longer does this. Both the phone and my Macbook will connect and the download will start, but then my Macbook disconnects and I get a Transfer Failed message on my screen. If anyone knows how to fix this bug I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Try deleting your Bluetooth set up and re-doing as if it was from the beginning.

  • AirDrop transfer between Mac mini (late 2012) and MacBook Pro (late 2008) works only one way.

AirDrop transfer between Mac mini (late 2012) and MacBook Pro (late 2008) works only one way.  I see both machines on both airdrop windows. Firewalls on both machines are set exactly the same way, and with Network Browser set to allow.  Can send a file from Mac mini to MacBook, but not the other way.  Never get a window asking to accept on the Mac mini.
Found no useful documentation on AirDrop anywhere in the whole support site.

Maybe this will work. From an Apple support article.
You can also use the Share button to send files to your neighbors via AirDrop. In a Finder window, select the item you want to share, and then click the Share button in the toolbar. For more information about the Share button, see this help topic:
