Why is alternative text is still visible after an image is displayed (e.g., in Dropbox and Google mail)?

When I go to my Dropbox page or my Google e-mail page, both the images for icons AND their alternative text is shown (I tried to upload two images illustrating this but the "Upload image" seems to have hung). I am using the lastest version of Firefox for Linux.

Why are my rejected photos still visible after I delete them?

I am not an advanced LR user by any means, so I'm hoping I can get some insight here. When I go through my photos, I first reject them. I take a look at all of my rejected ones, then I select the "delete rejected photos" option and then "remove from disk."
When I go to my "All Photographs" collection, I can still see all of my rejected photos, except they are grayed out. Why is this? I don't want to see them anymore, I'd like them to be gone forever!

What do you mean by "All Photographs" collection?
Is it a regular collection?
Is it a smart collection?
When you created the collection did you choose to create virtual copies?

The screen on my MacBook goes black often. I can still see a faint image of what's on the screen, and can only get it to illuminate by moving it back and forth. What could the issue be? How can it be fixed?

The startup disk may need repairing ...
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If the disk needs repairing, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you can access the built in utilities in OS X Recovery to repair the startup disk.

Why are Illustrator CC 2014 dialogue boxes dropshadows still visible after closing.

Has anyone experienced this behaviour before?
Seems to be the dialogue boxes that appear in the centre of the screen when opened from the Control Bar.
They also remain visible after closing AI. See image below.
Computer specs:
Dell Precission M6700
Windows 7 Professional
64-bit
Illustrator CC 2014 1.1 Release
Any help in resolving this frustrating bug would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem. Bought a new grafic video card AMD FirePro AND a new monitor. Didn't help. Tried asking Adobe, no luck sofar.

Why is the text not the visible in the protected PDF opened on Mac?

Long story short:
I've created a document in Microsoft Word 2010 and saved it as PDF. With the .pdf open now in Acrobat Reader 9.4.1 I have enabled the protection over the .pdf file by only allowing Printing and saved the protected .pdf. All of these actions are made on Windows 7 machine. Now when trying to open the protected .pdf on Mac (with Snow Leopard 10.6.6 and Preview) the .pdf opened only shows the lines and bullets but not the text.
Why is the text not visible in the protected PDF opened on Mac?
(is this bug or a "feature"?)
Note: the protected .pdf looks good on Windows 7 and it works on Mac if the .pdf has no protection.

A. What application are you using to add the protection? Reader cannot add any file security and I don't think the PDF feature of Word will either.
B. Mac Preview has issues with PDF standards so there may be some features that you will experience issues with that have no workarounds.
C. Have you checked the file after adding security to see if all fonts are embedded?

IFrame(child container) still visible after closing the title window(parent container)

Hi All ,
I have created a sample project using a link button which when clicked opens up an TitleWindow which has an iframe and a text area in a hbox
When you execute the application ,
          Click the link button
          The Popup window opens up showing the title window with the close button
          Click the close button of the title window
          The Title window is removed and the iframe and the text area are not visible
Do this a couple of times
You can notice that the iframe is still visible even when the title window is closed
Can someone explain me how this issue can be resolved and also explain me why the iframe(child container) is still visible when the title window(parent container) is not visible.

Old graphics are still visible after repaint().

I'm using a sprite which I, in a timer task scheduled at fixed rate, is moved a little bit and the the repaint method is invoked on the canvas which invokes paint on the sprite. Things work fine, the sprite is painted on its new position, however, the graphics painted in the former paint() invocations are still visible on the screen. Is there a sleek way to disable this behaviour?

uhm, my sprites have 2 frames, the first one is the sprite pic, and the second is a point, one pixel, so if i select the second one and repaint, it should "disapear", the problem is, i change the selected frame, and then repaint while runnin the thread, but nothing happens =(

NotifyIcon icon still visible after closing form

Hi,
I have an application that's using NotifyIcon control. Everything is fine except when I exit the application, the icon is still in the "system tray" area. I want it to disappear once I exit the application. Anyone have the same experience, pls share. Thanks in advance.

Hi,I know this is the post to get rid of the notifyIcon, but since we are on the topic; I am running a program that needs to stay open as a NotifyIcon unless closed by the context menu I have attached to the NotifyIcon. I have like a dashboard type program
that contains the "X" close button and what I want is that when the user clicks that button, the form will hide itself, not close. Is there a way to do this? I have attached a small code snippet.

Why are my safari bookmarks still present after a fresh install?

I've just done a fresh install of osx to clean things up a little and I've just noticed that my bookmarks in safari are still saved.Is there a way of doing a fresh install with ALL of my personal data erased?
I believe I did it correctly by rebooting with "cmd" and "r" pressed,then erasing my hard drive with disk utility and then reinstalling OSX.

Why is the trial watermark still visible?

I have recently purchased and recieved my premiere elements 8 software.
I downloaded the software trial so i could use it straight away (whilst waiting for the hardcopy) and i was assured that when i recieved my serial code that the watermark from the trial copy would dissapear.
Please, how do i get the trial watermark off my film so i can publish it. It is really frustrating as i put a fair bit of work in before the code arrived and now i am facing having to re do it...there must be a fix? If there is no fix could someone advise me of this so i can get to re-doing it.
Software retailers - it seems they would tell you anything to firm a sale. I hope someone can prove me wrong and i will 'eat my hat'

Address bar and tabs still visible in youtube fullscreen, while it's hidden in IE and chrome. how to fix this?

You can right-click empty space on the toolbar and set a tick on Hide Toolbars.

Images not displaying at their normal size, and not all keywords displaying, why?

Not sure what's going on inside Adobe Bridge CC 2014.1, but why is it that my images are not displaying at full size. Bridge says they're displaying at 100% but I know that's not the case, because when I open the same images in Mac OS Preview (OS 10.10.1 Yosemite) at 100% they're much bigger. Is there a viewing preference setting I'm missing?
Also, I use Bridge and Photoshop on two mac pro desktops: one at my office and one at home.
At work, I created more than 30 keywords in Bridge for several hundred images that reside on my external thunderbolt hard drive. But when I take that hard drive home and connected it to my home mac and then open Bridge, only a handful of keywords appear. I don't see the full list of keywords that I created at work. But in Bridge, I didn't see any option to save or export keywords as a file.
Although the image metadata does appear, because whatever keyword i assigned to an image at work does display on the home mac, I just don't see the entire keyword list.
Can or should Bridge therefore only be used on one computer? Is it not possible to transfer the entire Bridge keyword list from one mac to another?

I've discovered what is causing the problem, but I still need a way to fix it, if possible.
The cause of the problem is that in Windows 7 Control Panel > Display I have set the size of "text and other items" to 150% (otherwise everything is much too small too read on my screen's recommended resolution of 1920×1080).
I discovered that Irfan Viewer was also displaying at the incorrect resolution, but I managed to solve that problem by right-clicking on the IrfanView.exe icon and following Properties > Compatibility and selecting "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings".
I tried the same procedure with Thunderbird, but it made no difference. It is still displaying at the incorrect resolution.
Any suggestions?

Why does the bit debth of my raw file image different in my camera, in Brigde and in when opened in Photoshop?

I have a Nikon D700 12 megapixel full frame camera which has a 12 – 14 bit depth. I usually shoot images with the Nikon raw file format (NEF) with the color space setting at Adobe RGB (1998). When I select a photo to look at the details of the metadata in Adobe Bridge the bit depth is indicated as 16 and the color as RGB. Opening up the picture in Photoshop displays the long narrow detail line down the near the bottom of the screen. It indicates that the color is 8 bit but still Adobe RGB (1998).
Can someone please explain these fluctuations? This is still a NEF file I am referring to.

With Camera Raw open, you'll need to set the Color Space and Bit Depth is it to open as in Photoshop. See image:
Edit: Also, a raw file contains raw data - no embedded color profile. At least not that any programs, except Nikon's, will recognize.

Still can't get images to display in iTunes

I've added images to the Podcast track and to the Episode info track, I'm able to Share to iTunes fine BUT
When I play it in iTunes I get one image (which is not included in my podcast), the audio is fine but no changing images.
