Why is Apple UK's delivery system inefficient?

Please can someone explain why tracking and receiving a parcels ordered from Apple is so difficult? Why do you have to follow Ukmail and Syncreon online only to get a vague idea where your parcel is and no information about the delivery window?

The question is Work That? i no see the change for me POOR signal here on my office..
my carrier att. have very Poor Signal here on Aguadilla PR.. i take this PHone for this keynotes about the wifi calling is a new feature...
please i need a new respont.. and check the security about iphone Someone call reply the text messenger from the Block area.

It sounds as if you only had one line with an upgrade available. So you can only upgrade one line. For you to upgrade as well, you will have to wait until your upgrade is available. You can check that at MyVerizon. That's just how it works. All carriers and phone brands are the same. I have to wait until February to upgrade. The only thing you can do to get the new iPhone, is add a new line. But then you're paying for a line you don't need.

  • HT204053 Why does Apple kick their old subscribers under the bus? I have an iMac G5 2.1 Computer using Leopard 10.5.8 system, and I am no longer able to renew my MobileMe account, Why? Maybe I should look into PC Computers in the future!

Why does Apple kick their old subscribers under the bus? I have an iMac G5 1.9 and 2.1 computer using Leopard 10.5.8 system, and I cannot renew my MobileMe account, why? Is Apple incapable of keeping their old subscriber accounts active and still update their system? Maybe I should look into buying a PC in the future? I eagerly await your reply. Thanks

MobileMe is being terminated in two weeks. If you have files on your iDisk which are not also on your computer you need to be downloading them as soon as possible or you will lose them.
You can migrate to iCloud and set Mail up manually to receive your @me.com mail:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard
You will not be able to sync calendars or contacts. If you want to have general online file storage you will need to find a third-party alternative - this page examines some options:

  • Why does apple sell phones with "INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY" when they cant service the phone in India, which has been bought outside India ? Whats the use of their registered service centers ?

i got my iphone 5 as a gift from my friend when he went on a business tour to Dubai. i have a got problem with the native camera app and i contacted the customer care more then 3-5 times and they finally gave me a solution to check with the service centers avialble in  my city. i went all the way there from my place and they said you cant service your phone over here since its has been bought outisde India ! then why do APPLE ship phones ? why do they have REGISTERED SERVICE CENTRES in India ? why do they sell apple products with the tag INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY ?

There is a problem insofar as you did not buy the phone.   Any warranty would therefore apply to the buyer.   What I would suggest is this ...
With the receipt in your hand, telephone the store where it was purchased.  Explain the situation and ask them how you should proceed.    You may find they'll only deal with your friend but if he/she is willing, it can still be pursued in your friend's name.
Once you have agreed a way of getting it serviced you will need to return the phone, and as I suggested, by a registered post system that requires proof of delivery.  Most postal services do this.
Pack the phone, preferably in its original box and surround it with extra packing. You do not want anyone to have grounds to say it was further damaged in transit.
Include a dated letter stating what the fault is and affix to that a copy of the receipt.
I hope you are successful.   Thank you for the star.

  • Why are Apple letting their customers down so badly? - Yahoo mail problems

Problems with Yahoo mail are being reported all over this forum now.
Lots of people are reporting that they either can not connect to their Yahoo account as the phone fails to authenticate their details (despite them being correct) or that the phone will not auto-check for mail. Various solutions such as rebooting, restoring and changing passwords have been suggested but these are not having an impact for me or for numerous others. Neither is this just an issue for jailboken phones but affects everyone.
Apple have sold the iPhone as more than just a phone. It was sold to customers as a complete solution for providing connectivity. It strikes me that the iPhone is currently failing to deliver some of its core functions. If I had bought any other phone by now I would have returned it to the shop. The only reason that I hold on is the thought that Apple will update the software soon to solve the problem.
Why then is Apple not communicating to it customers about this? The impression given is that they are ignoring our please for help. Apple may not be able to fix the problems immediately but at the very least they should make an announcement about it and acknowledge that they are working on fixing the problem with a timescale for a resolution.
Apple – I feel let down and I’m sure many others on here feel the same.
This does not fit with your brand promise and if not resolved soon could have negative connotations on your brand image and equity. You may not want to mention it in the press because it will look bad but it will look a lot worse if the competition’s PR agencies get hold of it first.
As a business owner I watched with interest at the launch of the Enterprise Beta Software. Reliability in a mail delivery system is critical and knowing that it is taken seriously by a provider is also critical. Apple are not currently giving this impression and I would therefore not currently recommend them to my peers.
Come on Apple you can do better than this!!!!

I take your point, however there are number of Apple employees who are involved in discussions on this website. Furthermore Apple is missing a big trick if they are not review their own forums (let alone other forums) to get feedback on their products.
Apple has also made a big deal about the partnerships that it sets up with other companies (Google and Yahoo being amongst them). I do not think it is fair to pass the blame on to Yahoo. It is Apple's responsibility to ensure that the functions of its own products work. If Yahoo is letting them down they should be in discussion with Yahoo to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

  • Why did Apple make the new iPod unable to use Griffin iTalk or iTrip?

I was so disappointed when I upgraded to the new 5th gen. iPod and was unable to use the accessories I purchased for my previous iPod. Am I missing something? What am I supposed to do? Is there an attachment that will make them usable? Why would Apple make a new iPod that wouldn't include the same connector?

See below your so-called answer to my question.
I also noticed you have marked it solved. If, as a moderator, you can say that your response was considerate of the people using the system then I guess it was solved. If I was to mark it I would say the reply was very condescending and thus worthy of a 1 out of 10 as far as a reply goes. In the future please do not answer my posts as I would like to be treated with a little respect as I'm sure you would like. Please get some other Mod who can perhaps relate to a person's concern. Your answer may be correct but your way of putting it across sounds like some of the 13 year old school children I use to teach.
    You have a good day.

  • In Lion, why did Apple remove the up/down arrows in the scroll bars?  There is currently no way to move up and down in small increments.  WHY????

Every mac operating system software until Lion had the ability to use up/down arrows in the scroll bar.  This makes it easy to move up and down in small increments.  In Lion, it is impossible to move up and down in small increments.  Click on the scroll bar and it moves up or down an entire page.  When you try to put the curser on the scrollbar and move it up just a little, it moves a whole bunch.  With the up/down arrows, you can click on the arrow and it will scroll ulp or down one line a time.  There is no way to do this in Lion. Why would apple remove the very useful feature of up and down arrows.

    Yes, agreed a missing element.
Did you try using the up / down arrows on the key board.

    How this started:
Over the past couple of days to approx a week, I have seen a massive influx of Spam on our server.  Spam coming in on random ex employee names that no longer work for the company.
Previous to the spam, I turned on "forward un-deliverable mail to" and set to me.  The CEO was missing emails because people were not spelling his name correctly.  I have actually been able tyo catch a lot of employee emails some important, others not.
In trying to make the mail server more secure, one of the features I tried to turn on was SMTP Client Restrictions, Which broke SMTP for my users.  Obviously the error is mine and I need to do more research, but love some feedback on what needs to be set on the server and clients for SMTP client restrictions to work.
I know THE HOFF (mr hoffman) had information at some point to help users secure postfix, can anyone point me in the right direction, as well as any tips here on how to stop the influx of spam?

I am not certain what you mean by immediately removing the 192.1.1.10 and 192.1.1.11, AIX servers that I use to relay admin emails to an IT address here.  Some sort of a gateway implemented on a pair of IBM boxes, I might presume.
192.1.1.0/24 is in a public address space that you don't have assigned (unless you're BBN).  If that IP routing leaks out, then some folks can get cranky.  Or should you eventially need to contact hosts within the address space of the "real" occupants of 192.1.1.0/24, routing won't necessarilt play nice.  There may well be a static IP route here, depending on the details of the router configuration, as otherwise that IP traffic would be going to BBN and not to those servers.  The Internet works because folks play by the rules, when working with IP routing and DNS services.  And if your predecessor used this address space (and not the likely 192.168.0.0/16 block), I'd look around to see if there were other unusual network configuration choices.
TCP port 25 is the server-to-server mail port.  That's the main connection used among mail servers.  Blocking that has the effect that you've discovered.
It's the clients that can also use that port that need to be relocated off the port, as the clients don't have the reverse DNS and related tests that would allow them access to that port, with various common server security configurations.
Open TCP 587 at the firewall and ensure that this port is active at the mail server host, as a starting point.  You can test that with (among other tools) with a remote "telnet your.mail.server.host.name 587" command or similar; that's a primitive (but effective) (common) port test.
With the Apple Mail client, make sure the SMTP server is configured to use the default SMTP ports.  Mail > Preferences > Account > Account Information > Edit SMTP Server > select the target SMTP server > Advanced > select "use the default ports (25, 465, 587)" and consider using SSL and authentication.  (Apple Mail tries a few ports automatically, so the set-up can be different than other clients.)
I don't have enough space here for a full write-up on how mail or IP works, and setting up an arbitrary mail client or an IP network can be an adventure; I assumed the Apple mail client in the above.  See the user collaboration services disscussion of mail services in the Mac OS X Server Advanced Administration manual as some background.  (And if this stuff all looks a little cryptic, that's understandable, and you might want to consider getting some set-up help or consider moving to hosted mail services and making this stuff somebody else's problem.)

  • Hypertext links are not always preserved from Word to PDF, using Aperçu or Adobe, depending on OS 10 or Lion. Why? This generally works perfectly in Windows. Why are Apple and Adobe unable to correctly handle links when converting from Word to PDF?

Hypertext links are not always preserved from Word to PDF, using Aperçu or Adobe, depending on OS 10 or Lion. Why? This generally works perfectly in Windows. Why are Apple and Adobe unable to correctly handle links when converting from Word to PDF?
Depending on the system version, and Office Word version:
    - a pure URL link starting with http or even www sometimes works in PDF, either produced by Aperçu or Adobe, sometimes does not work;
    - other kind of links where the text under display is not a URL, never work!
I like everything with Apple computers and software, except PDF generation. Output files are usually bigger in size, and no better quality, than under Windows. Furthermore, it is weird that something as common as hyperlinks does not work correctly!
I related this question with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, but the problem is still there with Mac OS Lion.
This problem seems to have been around for years, without any proper solution from Apple and/or Adobe! To me, this is very embarrassing!

    Greetings NoNameGiven,
If I understand the problem correctly (I’m not sure I do) you would prefer ‘iii’ to be read as “eye eye eye” rather than “three”? The alt text property is the only way that I know of to make this happen. Hope this helps.

  • Why doesnt apple report stolen iphone activations

why doesnt apple have some way of reporting a stolen iphone mine was stolen and i have the find my phone app and its been online once and nothing since that was in december it was stolen in november of last year.  I paid cash for had no insurance on disablility cannot afford another one.  I paid cash when I got my back pay now I have no iphone and nothing i can do.  apple should have some type of system to see that a phone is stolen or not.

In addition to all of the reasons already given, Apple is not in the business of tracking and listing stolen property.  Theft of iPhones, and other smart phones, has reached epidemic proportions in most large cities.  The only people who have a real reason to keep records of stolen phones would be the cell service providers.
The new iOS version 7 has an anti-theft protection feature - the Activation Lock.  Using that feature makes the iPhone useless to the thief.  But the user must turn that on for it to work.

  • Why do senders receive a delivery failure notice although messages are being received?

Why do senders receive a delivery failure notice although messages are being received?

What you have there is either a jailbroken unit with some crazy custom UI or an eastern knockoff. Give us some photos of the ipad itself, mainly the back and some experts can help.
If you plug it into iTunes does iTunes even acknowledge that an ipad is connected? If it does then try a restore.
Failing that, head down to an apple store and see what they can do for you.

  • Why does Apple keep breaking the podcast app?

Why does Apple keep breaking the podcast app?

Here are my issues, maybe you can help... And yes "breaking" and "nightmare" are accurate descriptions of this update...
    1. Syncing is now impossible without WiFi or a Cellular connection. I've tried your guide in the other thread, but it didn't help.
When I sync podcasts with iTunes, they DO NOT SHOW UP in the app unless I connect my iPhone 5S to WiFi or Cellular. As soon as I connect it to something, new episodes that I manually synced finally show up and can be played.
    2. Arranging the podcasts in any order is now pointless. Any sort of wireless connection will reset my order to a randomized one. It's not even "podcasts with the newest episodes on top", it's just random.
    3. Apple doesn't seem to allow any other podcast app to use the manual sync in iTunes. Am I wrong about that? I looked at countless paid apps and they all have their own cloud or system to only deliver episodes wirelessly...
    4. And that constant prompt about Cellular data access could drive anyone insane!
I have never been this frustrated with an Apple product in my life...
