Why is ATV2 loosing connection to ITunes?

I have been reading the discussions and it seems this is a systematic problem with new Apple TV. Apparently, Apple does not know what the problem is because all the updates have not corrected the problem. I am tired of reseting every device just to watch half a show. For some reason, ATV2 is loosing its connection to ITunes. I have to log out of everything and relog. Reset Itunes on my computer, reset modem. But, I think it is just that time I am doing it that the ATV2 corrects itself...for the next 30 min to hour. I am switching to WDTV. But, I spent $100 on this POS, so I will use it if someone has a fix for it.....

ATV 2 was working perfectly when I bought it last October until a few months ago when all the latest updates came. Since then, it keeps dropping out. So it is not a network issue. This is the same with most complaints.
tkrgood, Khakim, I have recently found out that if I turned off my airport and turned it on again (using the icon at the top right of my iMac), it would work again. Try that?

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Sorry, I updated another thread I was a part of but didn't update my own thread.....ughhh!
I updated all of my ATV 2's and 3's to the latest firmware when it was released and have been problem free since. I do believe the major issue of not being able to connect after a period of inactivity has been corrected with the latest ATV firmware.
I can look at my network connection table using "netstat -an" in a CMD window and I do not see the massive number of connections I saw before the update.

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Featurs appin the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

I am connected to a wireless network and I have installed the latest version of iTunes from the Apple website. When I try to connect to the iTunes store, the progress bar at the top of the application is ribboned with moving gray marks and the caption reads "Accessing iTunes Store". I have other computers on the same account with the same operating system on the same wireless network running iTunes and connecting the iTunes store. What is wrong?

I'm having the exact same problem. Itunes worked perfectly until I did the upgrade. (I guess that's why the old saying always holds true, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" ) I've deleted itunes and reloaded several times and it's always the same issue. Even took down my firewall and virus protection to do the reload with no luck. I also found an older version of itunes and tried to load that one with no luck.

We've all been there before. Fortunately, there are some steps we can take to troubleshoot. First off, let's verify that you can connect to the internet from your iPad in the first place:
Open Safari and type www.apple.com. Does the website load? If not, go to Settings>Wi-Fi and select your preferred network. If you prefer to use 3G or 4G data, make sure you've connected that instead. Try bringing up Safari again and verifying the website loads. If not, you'll need to contact AppleCare Support for further troubleshooting.
If you're able to connect to the Internet, but are unable to connect to the iTunes Store, make sure you can do the same from another device on the network (i.e. Computer, iPhone, iPod Touch, etc.) If no other device can access the iTunes Store, it could be a port setting or firewall issue with your network. However, if it's isolated to your iPad alone, the App might need reset. Try this:
1. Log out of your account by going to Settings>Store
2. Quit the iTunes Multitasking Session by rapidly double-pressing the Home button, holding your finger down on the iTunes icon until it giggles, then selecting the red minus sign. Press the Home button again to return to the home screen.
3. Go back into the Store (Settings>Store) and sign back into your Account.
4. Bring up iTunes and attempt your purchase again.
If none of these steps help, I would contact AppleCare directly as it could be a software defect that iTunes support could cure. Calling AppleCare first would allow them to determine if there aren't any hardware defects, prior to forwarding your case to iTunes support. -They are very fast in resolving any issues and I've had nothing but good experiences with them in the past.
