Why is "Calendar" stuck in "Month View"?

For some reason, Calendar on my iPhone refuses to get back into daily view (which is what I used in the past). Instead, it is stuck in month view or, if I turn it sideways, shows 3 days at a time. I can go even further out to year view (arrow top left) and back to month view by tapping anywhere inside the calendar. But tapping on a date within the month view just highlights that date. I can add a LIST at the bottom of the display by tapping the 3rd icon from the right, but I don't get an overview of my day (with a timeline indicating present time) as I used to. Is this a new feature? (In which case, a curse be upon you, Apple) Or a bug? (how to fix?) Or am I just too stupid (a distinct possibility…)? I've tried tapping every icon on the screen, swiping in all 4 directions, and even looking under "Settings" - but I can't find a way out. Help anyone?

Thanks for the link. I found the following relevant line there:
Change your view. Tap a year, month, or day to zoom in or out on your calendar.
That's exactly what I tried - tapping on a day, but the view didn't change (except the list at the bottom showed the newly selected day).
However, I finally figured it out: tapping the day in "month view" ONLY works if there is NO list displayed at the bottom. So once I toggled the list view off (by tapping the 3rd icon from the right, at top), I could change into the customary day view by tapping on the day. Strange! Maybe that should be explicitly stated in the page you quoted

  • Calendar stuck in year view

On my iphone 4 using ios7.02 the calendar is stuck in year view.  There are no tabs.  I can't escape.  I tried quitting and restoring the phone, that did not work.  How do I get back to the classic month view with the tabs?

At the top of the calendar there is supposed to be a set of tabs for view: day, list, month, year.  On my phone, it is stuck in a year view with no tabs at the top.
In IOS7 the interface has changed, the year view do not have any tabs on top except Search (lupe icon) and a plus sign ( + ) on the right. If you hold the iPhone in Landscape mode (horizontally) you get a week's view.

  • OWA Calendar not showing month view in non-IE browsers

I've got a user who can't see the Month view on his OWA calendar. He's the only user complaining - Month view loads fine on my Exchange account across all browsers and operating systems.
I can see the Month view on his account when I log in with IE, but not with any other browser, Windows and Mac.
Any ideas? I'm at a total loss here, I've been in and deleted recurring appointments, but nothing else looks out of the ordinary. Everything else works, it just won't load the month view in non-IE browsers and he's the only one affected.
    Any clues appreciated, thank you!

    Hi,
The Microsoft OWA web interface has two versions: OWA Premium and OWA Light. OWA Premium which can achieve calendar month view is only accessible when using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer browser.
If you’re using any other browser, we can use OWA Light. In light version, the OWA feature is not rich like OWA Premium. As for Calendar view, there is only daily view in OWA light.

  • Why events look foggy in monthly view ?

I'm new to iCal. Like it very much, excellent piece of software.
I'm using it in Monthly view only.
On thing bothers me, it's the foggy look of the events. Clicking on event makes the background color bright. Otherwise it's foggy. All my events are 'all day' events highlighted in different colors(diff. calendars)
Is there a way to keep it clear ? or that's how it is ?
    Thanks!

    Thanks,
System Pref. will change the look of the fonts for the whole system.
It's only in the iCal. It's not the font, but the look.
It's like a translucent filter on top of the calendar. So when I single click the event, then the 'filter" turns off over this event and the background color turns real and bright.
The other events on that day remain foggy.
For example, if the color supposed to be Red, then in normal view it looks light red. Clicking on it, then it turns the real red.
Maybe this is supposed to be like that ?
I don't know, because for me it's first time

  • TS1702 Calendar: when on month view, tap 2013, March, calendar reverts to home screen.    Tried all other months, all ok just happens on March 2013.  i

    Calendar on iPad.
Month view, tap MARCH 2013, calendar closes to home screen.

Try removing any all-day events from the calendar for the 1st April 2013 e.g. if you are syncing the calendar from somewhere else (e.g. Outlook on a PC or iCal/Calendar on a Mac) then change it to a timed event instead of all-day - it seems that there is a problem with all day events on that date which is when the clocks change due to daylight saving.

  • I'm trying to have the end times shows up when I print my calendar from the month view. As of now, when I print in the monthly view, it only gives me the start time of a meeting.

I would like to have the ending times shown on my monthly calendar.  As of now, it only shows the start time.  The end times show up on the weekly calendar, but I don't want to print from the weekly view.

    Hi,
    I see two issues,
    1. the url is not correct for the image, www.mountjay.com/Home/MountJayDesign.jpg
    2. meta property should go in to head section, at the moment, it is under body (if you insert the code as html). go to page properties-> Metadata-> head. Paste this here, and check the site again,
Please let me know if you have any other query.

  • Calendar crashes in month view mode

iPad 2 - iOS 5. Using Calendar app, viewing in month mode. Paging from month to month. When I page from february 2013 to march 2013, the app crashes. Consistently. Is it just me?

Temporary workaround identified at least, at your link above.
    Workaround:
Please edit all-day events on 1 April 2013. Either remove the event or change the all-day event into an appointment event, starting for example 12.00.
    It worked for me.

  • IOS 7 Calendar colours only appear in grey in Month View on iPhone 5

Why are Calendar colours in month view on iPhone 5 only in grey? They just appear as small grey dots underneath the date number. This is about as helpful as a chocolate teapot. I am so disappointed with the iOS 7 upgrade.

  • In Calendar, Month view, how do I show the event time (as it used to)?

I have always used to Calendar in the Month view to see the events and the starting times. After upgrading to Mavericks, the start times in the Month view no linger show. How can I restore that feature.

    Another screw-up
The original Calendar was really easy to use, a real gem of an app.
The "New" version is "slimmed down" so that data entry is not as easy as it was, becuse the original template has lost many of its spaces.
Further, the display, once an entry has been made, is sparse, to say the least (pun not intended).
There is an old, wise, saing, "If it is not broken, don't fix it"
The old Calandar was not broken, why meddle with it ?
Just to give the impression of an "Upgrade" ?

  • Equipment mailbox not showing partial days on calendar for certain user (in month view).

We have one user that is having a problem with viewing Equipment Mailboxes.
We are running Exchange 2010 version 14.02.0328.009. Client machine is running Outlook 2010 x86.
The mailbox is a check-out vehicle that he and one other person manage. When someone sends a request to the van, it books it for that time, then doesn't allow others to book it for that same time as expected. However, some users don't like to do their own
booking so they have him do it for them. Several times now he has went out on the calendar (actually 3 different vans, all respond the same way) and booked a van on a day that looked available to him, only to find out on that day that two different people
show up expecting that same van. One person booked it on their own, and he booked it again. It never gave a prompt to disallow him or tell him it was taken from the attendant. However, for the other guy that manages the mailboxes it looks just fine, for me,
for many other users I've compared with, it looks and responds as it should.
I have checked the settings on the equipment mailboxes as well as compared his Exchange account with the other person who is working as expected, they are identical. The thing that I've found is that if someone books a van for an 'all day' event, he sees
it just fine. If they set it up for a partial day, it never shows to him in month view.
Looking at the calendar permissions for the mailbox both of the people have equal rights. I tried setting this person to owner to see if it helped, to no avail. I also tried setting the "Show As:" to free, busy, tentative, out of office, all respond
    the same way.
It seems to show up when he does a schedule view, but from a month view, nothing shows and it allows him to book the van. For everyone else that I've tested, it responds as expected.
I have deleted and recreated his profile on his local machine, and he even recently got a whole new desktop so it shouldn't be anything local (has been going on for many weeks), but I honestly have no idea why it's doing it. Any suggestions from the gurus
on here would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi,
Since the issue only happens when this specific user view the equipment mailbox's calendar in Outlook monthly view, please access this user's mailbox in OWA and view the equipment maibox's calendar and send test meeting requests to have a try.
If the issue also happens in OWA, please run the following cmdlet to check the equipment mailbox calendar configuration:
    Get-CalendarProcessing equipmentmailbox | fl

  • Calendar crashes when trying to opening in March 2013 monthly view

This only happens in monthly view as we are now into March it is stuck on monthly view so it will not open.

Try removing any all-day events from the calendar for the 1st April 2013 e.g. if you are syncing the calendar from somewhere else (e.g. Outlook on a PC or iCal/Calendar on a Mac) then change it to a timed event instead of all-day (if you don't sync your calendar from anywhere then try going into list view, go to 1st April and change any 'all day' events to times e.g. change Easter Monday to start at something like 4am) - it seems that there is a problem with all day events on that date which is when the clocks change due to daylight saving on the day before.
The problem is fixed on the latest version of iOS, so if it's not a first gen iPad updating it should fix it.

  • Does calendar month view show times

I'm sure I'm not going crazy but I could have sworn that, until late last night, my iPad 2's calendar when in month view showed event times.  Similar to what you see when you check the "show times in month view" box when in iCal.  I am pretty sure that that function was on my iPad 2 prior to my downloading iTunes 10.3.1 beta because I keep my iPad near the kitchen phone so that we can 'check the calendar.'  Now it is not there.  The folks at MME support didn't have an iPad to check and they suggested that I go to a local Apple store and see if the ones in the store had this function.  I did and they did not.
I spoke with a genius at the Apple Store and he couldn't verify whether that was ever a function of iOS on the iPad.  I did tell him that my iPad had been having some strange things happen on the display when I activated the calendar on the iPad.  Events would appear, disappear, then reappear sort of in an wave.  I am not sure as to the timing of this as to whether it was pre iTunes 10.3.1 beta or after I installed it.
HELP!  Was I just seeing things?  Or was it there and now gone?
    G-N

Thanks for the wild and crazy ideas.
I did remove any events that span midnight and it did not help.
I looked at the DbFixit program. Since it corrects problems in the Palm and not in Palm Desktop I believe it is not relevant. The reason I belive the palm device is not involved is because of the following test:
I removed all previous Palm Desktop versions
I removed all registery entries for both Palm, PalmOne, and the USB (as specified by a chat session with Palm)
    I removed all data directories including \Program Files\PalmOne, \Program Files\Palm, and \Palm
I removed all instances of data in the Documents directory
I did a cold boot of the computer
    then...
I did a fresh install of Palm Desktop
I typed in a year's worth of data
I did not sync or otherwise connect a palm to the system
    I selected month view
    The system crashed!
I believe this takes the Palm device completely out of the loop. This problem occurs when typing data in Palm Desktop from the keyboard.
I appreciate any ideas, and will follow up on them.
    Thanks again
    Jack Cornelius
Since no Palm was involved, the corruption must have occured in the Palm Desktop program itself.

  • Time on Calendar in Month View

Can someone tell me how to show the time of appointments when the calendar is in Month View. I know I saw it on the IPAD, but I can't find it now that I want to use it. Talked to Apple Care today, but they said it wasn't possible. I know better - help appreciated.

It is possible. APPLE store reps at one store told me it was not. Later, I saw the month view with times displayed on a floor model at another APPLE store and asked a rep how to set it up. After some looking and discussion, the employee told my husband and I how it was done. Unfortunately, we did not jot it down and neither of us remembers!! But we both saw it. Someone, somewhere knows..

  • Continuous scrolling not working in Calendar month view

Scrolling does not work in Calendar month view. I have toggled System Preferences >General > Show scroll bars to "Always on." Still nothing in Calendar month view.
BUT, wait! Now every other app (except Calendar month view) now has the scroll bar "Always on" even though I toggled back to "Automatically based on...", then restarted my computer. I don't want to see the scroll bars all the time but now I can't hide them anywhere. It seems "Always on" amd "Automatically based on..." now do the same thing. Serious bug.
    Any hints? Thanks

This is odd,  but the calendar scrolling in Month view is working on my machine.   It's been through various reboots - and I checked the disc (SSD) and permissions.
Seems to me that the calendar application is sensitive to the scrolling.
Also,  I've been suffering from Firefox vertical scrolling stopping.  The "fix" is to quit & restart Firefox.  However... this scroll-crashing behaviour goes away for a few days then comes back with a vengence.  Again,  I've a feeling that a full reboot seems to help things.
Yet another mouse-related problem I've been having is with VMWare.  These frequently interpret a single-click as a double-cliick or even triple-click.  Some chatter in the VMWare forums about this too.
All of this behaviour *never* ocurred prior to the Mavericks upgrade.
