Why is dataacq.h missing from my installed version of CVI 5.5?

I need the header file dataacq.h for some applications that I am using. I know the file is present on other versions of CVI 5.5 and want to know why the file was not installed (using standard install) on my system (Windows 98)

please take care of the difference between "DAQmx" and "Traditional DAQ": they are completely different products with no interaction between them. The supporting files also are different.
Since you are looking for "dataacq.h", you absolutely need to install traditional daq: installing DAQmx will not solve any of your problems. BTW, traditional daq is in version 7.4.4 and wont' be updated anymore. It can be downloaded from here, but should be also included in NI-DAQ driver disks and is surely included in Developer Suite distributions.
Second item: the presence of LabVIEW again has no influence on CVI development environment. A problem may arise if in the same machine a newer CVI is already installed, in which case a new install of traditional daq will not update CVI6 environment.
At this moment, I can see several scenarios: please let us know which is your exact situation so that we can address it in the proper way.
Scenario 1
LabVIEW installed. No other CVI installed apart your CVI6
In this case simply installing Traditional DAQ will solve your problems: during installation be sure to install CVI support (the setup program whould correctly identify your CVI6IDE)
Scenario 2
LabVIEW installed. A newer CVI installed together with CVI6 IDE.
In this case you should install Traditionl DAQ (which will install support fro the newer IDE) and then copy DAQ files to CVI6 environment. The copy will imply several files, not only dataacq.h.
Let me know if this is your case and I will list you all the files to copy.

I miss it and I think Apple should have kept it around as it's low key machine, great for kids and adults who didn't like a lot of flash.
Now the 13" MacBook Pro is considered the equivalent on a similar performance basis, however it has the bright silver rich looking case that draws thieves attention and really isn't a "Pro" machine at all with it's inferior low performing integrated graphics.
Heck most $500-$800 Windows laptops are just the same in performance and has a larger 15" screen.
If you need a anti-glare screen you have to opt for the 15" or 17" MacBook Pro and pay $50 more for the anti-glare, but it's worth it. The 13" doesn't have a anti-glare option, but we are petitioning Apple to include that option.
I think Apple considered the MacBook as a educational computer, thus replaced it for a line of iPads which make considerable more margins and provides less hardware benefits as all the hardware features, stand, keyboard etc. are separate purchases.

File + Edit menus missing from PSE9 trial version

I installed the trial version of PSE9 and am having a fundamental problem with the Organizer. Various functions require me to access File or Edit menus which, according to the Help file, should be at the top of the screen but they are nowhere to be found.
For example, I want to Move files offline to a CD or DVD. To do that - according to the Help facility - I have to start by clicking on File - Move, but nowhere can I find this "File".
Does anyone here know whether these menus are missing from the trial version of the Organizer ? Or are they hidden somewhere ?

When forwarding this to the product management you might mention that this problem was encountered on a Window 7 Ultimate 64-bit system. I mention this because I have discovered the the "Ultimate" and 64-bit versions sometimes behave significantly differently from the other versions of Windows 7. In particular, some of my recently-purchased software has been unable to deal with the 64-bits, possibly because parts of them were written 10 years ago albeit purchased recently.

Vision Acquisition Software installed, BUT why is the IMAQdx missing from the function palette?

I just installed to the labview 2011, and many other modules and softwares including this VASAugust2010. But the IMAQdx is missing from the function palette (vision and motion). However the NI-IMAQ 4.5, IN-IMAQ IO 2.4.0 and NI-IMAQdx 3.7 are all clearly listed as installed in the NI software (contorl panel -> program - NI). In MAX, my usb webcam is also listed as NI-IMAQdx Devices and works well under MAX. But my own program is broken because the LV can't find those functions. So why the IMAQdx funtion is missing and how to fix it?

Why is implicit deny missing from outside int incoming access rules after upgrade from 8.25 to 9.1?

i have just noticed that after upgarde of image and asdm to 911 and 711, the implicit deny acl is missing from the outside interface. Is this deliberate or a poor upgrade. i am upgrading from 8.25 normally, depends what the reseller sends me.
should this be happening or am i upgrading in too large a jump?

Would really see some screencapture / output of the thing you are referring to.
I imagine that you are perhaps referring to something related to ASDM? I dont personally really use ASDM at all for ASA configurations to I am not up to date on the possible problems it might have or changes made to its interface.
I am not sure if you have an ACL attached to the "outside" interface? If so then I think the ASDM should show the Implicit Deny at the end while this wont show on the CLI side at all.
I did just check my own ASA at home which is running 9.0(2) and ASDM 7.1(2) at the moment and it doesnt show an Implicit Deny for my LAN or WAN interfaces ACL.
Though the basic ACL operation is still in effect. If its not allowed in the ACL then its blocked by Implicit Deny. This can be confirmed with "packet-tracer" test on your firewall also.

Why is iPhoto suddenly missing from OX 10.8.5?

I rarely use iPhoto but today I tried to open it and it is inexplicably missing from my computer. I have a MacBook Air from a couple of years ago and I'm running OX 10.8.5. I'm holding off of Mavericks until problems are resolved and my IT guy says it's okay. What happened to iPhoto? I cannot use the new iPhoto until I have maverick.

Why is mlb.tv missing from internet menu?

Purchased AppleTV about a month ago...MLBTV subscriber...
Since Wednesday, March 7, MLBTV has been missing from the "Internet" menu. Before this, I had no problems accessing and watching MLB Spring Training games. All other apps still there (Youtube, NHL, Vimeo, etc.). Tried a full reset, tried holding menu button down reset, tried unplugging...nothing...MLBTV still missing from menu...
Any ideas with that going on here?

You do not seem to be alone.
Either there are several spurious update issues or perhaps the variosu servers involved in supplying this content are having issues.
Assume you've done the 'no harm trying it' option of unplugging and restrating the router and appleTV.

Why are some apps missing from 'background app refresh'?

I noticed Runkeeper (current version) is missing from 'background app refresh'. In order to start tracking a run, it has to be enabled in BAF...but it's not there. I've rebooted and reinstalled - no dice. Any advice?

Go to the purchased tab of the app store on your iPad and try downloading them from there. Unless these apps have been updated to only work with a newer iOS version than what you are running, you should be able to download them again.

Install Lion on second computer from pre-installed version on new laptop

I just purchsed a new Macbook Air with Lion already installed - it is a great machine!
Now, I have an iMac on my desk that is 4 months old. I'd really like to upgrade it to Lion. My understanding is that we're allowed to install Lion on a second machine. But, since my only copy came pre-installed on my Macbook, I don't know how to do this?
I've seen many tutorials about making an installation DVD or USB key from the purchased version of Lion. These dont' seem to apply to my pre-installed version.

You are allowed to install on multiple machines in your house when you purchase from the Mac App store. Pre-installed copies of Lion do not qualify since the purchase is not listed in your Apple account. Think of it like how you would buy the "family pack" of OSX in the past. Just that now it costs $29 instead of $49.
If you're looking at the instructions on how to make a bootable DVD, then they're telling you to look for a specific file. (Hint, hint.) Since these Lion preinstalled Macs have just come out, it's going to take a while before people figure out where the files(s) are, and so have time to update their instructions. This is assuming it's even possible since Apple has always prevented the disks supplied with a machine to work with anything other than the same model. Only "retail" versions of OSX would work on multiple models of Mac, and what you download from the Mac App Store is a "retail" version of OSX. So it would not surprise me if the files on the pre-installed Lion only work on the same model Mac as well. (IOW, the installer may only work on 2011 MBAs since that is what you have.)

[SOLVED]/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt missing from fresh install?

I was wondering if any of you could understand why I need to reinstall ca-certificates post-install, so as /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt gets generated back?
I'm installing from a netinstall x86_64 image with automatic AIF profile and from [testing] repo?
Since the file gets made when installing post-install, then I thought that it was rather an install issue instead of a [testing] one? I dunno...
I've just run a new install from the usb stick, and still the same, and pacman.log states that ca-certificates is installed fine, but again the file is missing and I get complaints in vt1 when browsing https sites and when using curl and such, unless I do a reinstall of ca-certificates...

.. Just wanted to add that of course I know that the ca-certificates.crt isn't in the actual package, but that it _should_ be generated by running update-ca-certificates from the packages install script, but just isn't upon install...
The package is also out of testing now and in core I see...
Anyway, to fix this, I guess I just need to add an extra chroot command in my AIF config which runs 'update-ca-certificates --fresh', since atleast that works i.e. generates ca-certificates.crt, but i've only tried it post-install, and I don't want to do another install again, as I did 2 yesterday...
Again, if anybody could help me with some kind of explanation or theory or whatever for this, then I would really appreciate it!
I _do_ think that the update-ca-certificates command is run correctly during install, as else I guess I wouldn't have all these symlinks in my /etc/ssl/certs/ folder, but then why it dosen't generate that additional ca-certificates.crt file, I really do not understand...

I just did a "normal" test-install of arch64-net in a VM, i.e. without using AIF's automatic procedure, and just selected the core repo and to install base(wget depends on ca-certificates), and in the output there where reported:
Installing ca-certificates... Error: Command failed to execute correctly.
There weren't anything more specific in /var/log/{pacman,aif}.log about this, and again there where no ca-certificates.crt generated, and it first appeared after manually running update-ca-certificates post-install...
I'm gonna make a bug-report on the bugtracker now then...

Why is the formatting missing from my html page created from a template?

Hope you can help me.
I've created a new template in dreamweaver - all good. When I preview the template page in a browser everything looks perfect.
But when I create a new html page from that template, even though the page looks perfect in design view, all the formatting is missing when I preview it in a browser.
The site settings were relative to the site root and I've changed that to be relative to the document (not sure if that should make a difference). Either way, it hasn't changed anything.
Any ideas?

If you have not enabled "Preview using temporary files" in your PREFERENCES then site root relative links will fail on preview. Why? Because site root relative links *always* begin with "/", and when the browser sees that, it (since it knows nothing about Dreamweaver sites) correctly looks for the path starting from the root of your hard drive, not the root of the DW site. When you enable preview using temp files, before handing the file to the browser, DW obligingly converts all root relative links to document relative links (which *will* work on preview) but to do that it must create a temporary file (there are other things that happen as well, like external files being embedded in the code for the preview, but that is not relevant to this discussion). The reason a temp file is created is so that these changes don't affect your saved file.
So, if you want to use site root relative links, and do previews of your pages, you must enable the temporary files in preview. There is really no downside to doing this except that you may occasionally see a curious file named xzys139(.html in your local file list - this is a temporary file that was handed to the browser for preview, and for whatever reason was not deleted. In fact, this can save your bacon sometimes because it gives you a 'backup' of that page to which you can revert in the event of something catastrophic.
In the larger picture, there is no benefit to using site root relative links UNLESS you are also using server-side includes. It will make your life a bit simpler if you do not use them.
Finally, having made those links in your template file with the site root relative option enabled, changing that option to document relative will only affect NEW links, not existing ones. This is why Ken asked to see the link in your template - it's because he knows that even though you have made the option change, that old link will not be affected and will therefore fail on preview (assuming you have not enabled the temp file thing).

Kernel missing from default install

I just installed arch linux in a dual boot configuration with windows xp. During the installation I selected only the base packages and installed the default kernel, the IDE/SCSI one. The kernel installed fine and I installed grub to /dev/sda as I have a single sata hard disk. I have windows on sda1 and a swap on sda2 which is at the end of the disk and sda3 in the middle for my root partition. Once I rebooted after installation however my windows install booted fine but grub gives me and error claiming it cannot find the initrd26.img. I do not know much about the whole boot process of the kernel so I was hoping if someone could help me find a fix. Here is a list of my /boot and /boot/grub directories and my menu.lst file. I noticed there is a file called kernel26.img but I am not sure whether that is the initrd26.img file or the kernel itself.

The regular grub config uses kernel26.img as the initrd (yes, that's what it is). It also has another entry that uses kernel26-fallback.img (a bigger, more generalized initrd) and appropriate options to boot in single-user mode.
I don't know why yours didn't come out right. There isn't an initrd26.img file any more (though I think there used to be one a while back).

Why is some artwork missing from my iPod when it is correct in iTunes?

I have had great trouble trying to sync my iPod Touch (4th Gen running iOS 6.0.1) with iTunes (10.7.0.21) for Windows. Every 2000 or so tracks (out of about 15,000), iTunes says that some tracks could not be copied and that the connection with the iPod has timed out. This has resulted in losing up to 12,000 already synced tracks, and having to startagain from scratch (at least three times). I have resolved the issue by just syncing two or three albums at a time until the fault occurs, and making sure that there is no syncing taking place when I have to do a hard reset to close iTunes. The problem I'm having now is that there are several albums with the artwork missing - despite the fact that it was ok on previous syncs, and the fact that it is all present and correct in iTunes! I've heard that you should clear the artwork cache - is this correct, and if so how do you do it?
Any suggestions gratefully received!

All I can suggest is:
Try:
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
