Why is DLM slowly reducing my speed

It's not catastrophic but is annoying considering that since last May things have been ok with the replacement hub.
The following stats are what I have and are the last known prior to a resynch (all done by DLM). These take place between 3-5AM which has always been the usual time for this to happen.
The stats are for the resynchs this year and show connection time , SNR , CRCs ,IP profile - speed down is on or just above the profile with upload of 0.70.

The line has usually racked up 3,000 CRC per day since last May with no impact on speeds. The hub a 3A has tended to resynch every 14 days.
Given the above surely DLM should be increasing the speed as the daily errors have been drastically reduced from what they were - SNR is usually 6db after resynch.
I appreciate that to get the best speed a mid-day resynch is best but as the hub has always done the resynching at the same time with no apparent detriment ( until recently) this does not seem to be the problem.
If I am my cynical self it is almost as if DLM is working to a new parameter to reduce the errors on my line to as low as possible and ignoring the fact that it is stable at 6.24/0.83 even with 3,000 crcs daily.

PS Touch only permits JPEG and PNG when exporting directly to your device. Exporting by "sharing" (rather than "save to") via a service like Dropbox permits the full range of file formats (JPEG, PNG, PSD & PSDX).
Not sure what's causing the file to shrink so considerably. My projects, provided I kept the same dimensions, are generally the same size as my originals when I save locally. (I'm on Android.)

Reducing Processor speed for Power problems

I have already replaced the power supply in my G5 20"iMac under Apples self-install program. That problem was resolved (no power), but now the computer has been unexpectedly shutting off and has frequent high fan noise . I reduced the processor speed and it has been usable. I plan to take it to an Apple Store because my 1yr. waranty is almost up, however, my serial # falls in the Repair Extension program for Video and Power issues.
I am hoping they will diagnose on the spot and order a new logic board or whatever. I do not want to leave the computer at the store while a part is ordered as it is usable.
Does anyone know what I can expect at the Store?
And, in general, can anyone tell me what happens when the computer is used with reduced Processor speed.I have not really noticed a difference, but I think I am just masking the problem.

I've also ordered from OWC in the States before without any problems. With the good exchange rate you may save some money, although be aware I've always ended up paying some form of import tax, so the savings aren't as great as you may expect.
If it were me I'd consider a 7455 based OWC Mercury Extreme upgrade:

They seem to be highly recommended, compatible with OS 9.2 and OS X and don't require any third party firmware patches or kernel extensions etc. If you click the More Info button for the 1.467-1.5GHz upgrade, you'll see some benchmarks comparing it to the stock 400MHz processor.
Another option would be to look for an original Apple dual 450MHz or 500MHz processor card on eBay that's been pulled from a Gigabit Ethernet model. Assuming your computer's compatible with dual processors (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/13551), it would offer a modest speed boost.

Reduce fan speed below default

Is there any way to reduce fan speed below the default values of 2000 rpm? I want to do this on a trial basis only to isolate some sources of noise.

This does not override the SMC controlling the fan.
Right. I was just trying to imply that for the users who may read this thread (or stumble across it through Google) who are not expert users should not be attempting to modify plist files to change their fan control settings. One wrong move in there (like putting 1000RPM in for the max speed instead of minimum, as you've said) could result in damage to the machine that their warranty would not cover. It's way too easy for the inexperienced user to accidentally screw something up that could seriously damage their machine.
Just to be clear: I do enjoy reading about the more "technical" way of doing things (like you've posted) but some people in the forums may interpret this as something that they can just do "willy-nilly", and I don't consider it to be like that at all. Only expert users should consider doing something along these lines.

Bios Update to reduce fan speed at first level for t430s planned?

As everybody here now about the hight rpm of fan at first level (ca. 3000rpm). Lenovo changed that with bios update e.g. for T430. As I notice T430s has no update reducing the speed at first fan level.
Does anyone now if lenovo plan to bring an update to reduce the speed on T430s too?
Or will be no change for that?

Why does Auto-enhance reduce resolution?

I noticed when I apply auto-enhance to pictures taken on my iPhone 4S, the resolution in the EXIF data shows just over 3MP. I did a before and after and saw a huge drop in resolution. 3264x2448 without auto-enhance and 1536x2048 with auto-enhance used. No cropping was done. The only edit applied was auto-enhance. Why does the resolution get reduced fom 10mp to just over 3mp?

Any time you encode, or edit, a jpeg file, which is a type of picture file, it reduces the quality of the picture and to make up for the loss the resolution is lowered

Why does Acrobat X Reduce File Size make significantly bigger files?

Drawings at AO size, probably from AutoCad, each pdf ranging in size from 600 to 800kb. No encription. No attachments. No embedded fonts. Reprinted them through Acrobat X Pro to A3 then combined them. Binder size was about 5MB, too large for my client's email system.
Ran the binder through Reduce File size with compatibilty to Version 7 and the binder blew out in size by 20%. Increased the version compatibility to Version 8 and it increased yet again, to Version 9 stayed the same as 8.
Optimised the same binder and it blew out yet again. Auditing showed no difference no matter what i deleted.

If you have a file made from AutoCAD it is probably just line drawing. There is really no scope to reduce the size of these (except by taking away lines, which wouldn't be popular). I don't know why it gets bigger, but it's unlikely to get smaller, so I'd recommend finding a different way to deliver the file (many web sites exist for delivering large files).

Why does palyer start in lowered speed?

after Adobe got Flash from Macromedia, a few years ago they made a horrible change. The player starts in slow motion and then suddenly goes at natural speed! It is totally ruining my animations! Why this irritating functionality?

Not screwy, though I'll admit it's confusing.
Video editors normally start their video track before the music starts, using what's called pre-roll to get tape up to speed, put up cueing visuals, ID slates, test visuals, count down and other front matter. The music will only start when the video starts for real so often there's several second of silence under the pre-roll etc.
If Logic started at 0:00:00:00 then the video would have to start at negative time. Instead, starting the soundtrack at 1:00:00:00 means video might start at 0:59:50:00, i.e. 10 second before the music starts. There's no strict agreement about starting at 1:00:00:00. Some editors ask that you start soundtrack at 10:00:00:00
To alter it, go the synchronisation settings and you can choose what you want bar 1 to be equivalent to. Default is 1:0:0:0.0 but you can change that to 0:0:0:0.0 if you like.
File > Song Settings > Synchronisation

How to reduce motion speed?

hi,
i have a title with some text on it.
one of my effects moves the text from one location to another.
another effect changes the opacity from 0 to 100 to 0.
the title in question is 2 seconds long.
when i play the title, the text is moving TOO FAST and i would like to SLOW IT DOWN.
increase the duration or decreasing the speed will only double the length of the clip and this is not what i want.
how can i reduce the motion of the text but yet still keep the length of the clip the same?

How did you adjust the Position of that Title?
If via Keyframing the Fixed Effect>Motion>Position, just alter those Keyframes.
If you used, say the Title Crawl Preset, I would delete that Preset, and instead use Motion>Position Keyframes instead.

Also, 02 secs. is a short Duration, especially if you are starting off-screen, and ending off-screen on the other side of the Frame.

PS - I do my Titles, so that the viewer can read it completely 1.5x, and if it's in constant motion, will make that at least 2x.

Why Internet (Safari) and Comcast High Speed at odds with each other?

I have Comcast high speed internet and I am paying for the upgraded speed.
problem is, Comcast and my computer don't speak very well to each other and there is a MASSIVE slow down on the internet.
The Comcast guy said there is some "patch" I can download and make these two finally get along.
What am I looking for? HELP!!!!

When I've had this problem with Comcast, it has affected both my Mac and my PC. With that and other things I've learned about this problem, I'm not sure I'd believe what the tech told you.
Why does it happen on some Macs and not others?
I'm not certain, but since the problem is apparently caused by something in the process of dynamically feeding you the necessary DNS addresses, there are several possibilities. In some cases, it's probably related to what Comcast market you're in (and therefore what Comcast DNS servers you're using). It might have to do how the Comcast-provided modem passes the addresses on. It might have to do with ones router (if you have one) and whether it's passing on the DNS addresses to the computers in your house properly. And it could also have something to do with issues with the particular computer, although my own experience with 3+ computers in my house (1 PC, 2+ Macs) indicates this isn't the situation, at least in my case.
There are a lot of factors in this. The only thing I know for certain is that it affects many Comcast customers across the country and that for many of us, only using alternate DNS addresses solves the problem. Talking with people more knowledgeable about these things than I am, I gather that this is a widespread problem that Comcast does not address very effectively or helpfully. :-|

Why can't I adjust play speed?

I have some mp3 audio files that I'm listening to. They play fine. But there's no option anywhere for me to adjust the play speed (i.e. the way there is with Windows Media Player).
If QuickTime doesn't offer such a feature, then can anyone suggest another media player for OS X that does?

They are used for the same purpose--i.e. to play media files. You'd think that adjusting the play speed is a very basic function of any media player.
The purpose may be the same but the technology is different just as the storage and playback of digital media is different than that used for the storage and playback of analog media even though both used for the rendering of audio and video content.

Why does Final Cut Pro X speed up my video that I imported?

I have been having this problem off and on during my time using Final Cut since the summer of 2011 and it bugs me sometimes not know why the video always is retimed at a different speed once I import it to an event. I even tried to drag the file in and it still does the same thing. You might be asking "How do you know the video is faster?" Well, I record videos for my band and we do somewhat like music videos and we take shots of us playing our instruments while singing to the song. Anyways, what I do is try to sync up the song that we recorded to the video. But, this time once I tried it, the audio/video of the imported video was sped up compared to the song. I am very confused as to what to do. We reall need help because the deadline for the video is today and we need to have it ready. Thank you to anyone who replies and we hope that you can help us! The sync function allows you to sync a piece of separate audio to a video file with a scratch audio track. It uses the waveforms of the sound to sync this up. It will not do any speed changes necessary though.
Multicam allows you to sync multiple takes or camera shots or angle together with a single auudio track. You can sync based on a number of different criteria.

P.S. What's the original audio sample rate of your master recording? The Nikon should be shooting in 48k and that's what your playback track should be as well.

Increasing battery life by reducing processor speed.

Is it possible for me to limit the amount of power that goes into the processor? i have tried using speedit and coreduotemp but i can't get them to work.
You see i mostly use my laptop to play music out loud whilst i'm at work, and i'm sure i could get a much better life out of it. I remember i got about 6 hours on my ibook g4 1ghz, and my macbook pro is 2.4ghz and getting 4 hours at most, and runs rather hot. i use the fancontrol system preference application to reduce the fan speed when i want more life and increase it when actually use it.
can anyone help me out?

Running Windows will completely disable any processor control and there are no fan control programs that operate in Windows and work with a Mac. That wouldn't be a feasible solution.
I'm not aware of Windows having a built-in mechanism allowing the user to reduce processor voltage. Windows does use processor stepping to reduce the clock speed under certain usage conditions, but so does OS X.

So I bought a new cooler - Prolimatech MK-26 and two Noctua F12 fans. I connected the fans to the fan connector on the card and... !? I can't set the fans to less than 1000RPM! Even though these fans can spin at 300RPM and even though the temperature of the GPU is around 30C. So the card does not limit the fan speed settings, it limits it's rotation speed to 1000RPM. And this limitation doesn't seem to be in BIOS.
So if you want a really silent GPU, DON'T BUY NVIDIA!!! This limitation is stupid and it has no sense (it's not related to temperature), even the stock cooler would be deadly silent in idle without this "feature". Those two F12s can cool this card down even in afterburner, with power limit set to 111%, boost clock all the time.

Why can't I reduce the height of my container box in the Lightbox Display composition widget?

I'm using the Lightbox Display composition widget, I would like to place my trigger at the bottom of my lightbox, I've reduced the height of my image frame but the container box cannot be reduced accordingly. I need to reduce the height of the container box or my triggers will be hidden behind the box. Please advice, thank you.

When you insert the light box display, by default it has 3 slides with different components like trigger, container, target, image frame, text box, next button, preview button. You have to change the dimensions for all components for these default 3 images one by one.
Or you can delete 2 of the triggers (that will resul in deleting all of their components from the widget), then you are left with only one image and its components. Later, you can add more images to lightbox display.
Resize the components as per following video:

The steps are, after you have added the widget on the page:
Delete the triggers.
Then select Image frame, resize it. Move close button near it (the 'X' button), resize the text box,resize next and previous buttons and move all of these near the image frame.
Then click on the image frame, till you get "Target" area selected, resize target area and container will be resized automatically.
