Why is Encore 6.0 giving me the "blue screen of death" when I try to create a menu?

When I purchased my student edition 6.0 (which I love by the way), Encore did not have any of the libraries loaded up on it. After reading some discussions, I downloaded the missing folders.
Now, when I try to create a menu, my computer shuts down and gives me "the blue screen of death" as they call it (a blue screen with white writting, counting up to 100%, and saying Windows is preparing to crash...or something about the hard drive crashing....I can't remember because it goes off the screen so quickly).
I've done this several times - my computer only does this when I try to create a menu in encore, and not in any other part of encore. It hasn't happened in any of the other programs either (Premiere Pro and Audition are the only other programs I have used so far), or any other times I have my laptop.
Because of this, I am not too concerned since it seems Encore is the problem. However, I do not want any other problems to escalade from this either.
Am I doing something wrong? Can someone please help me? I'm working on my Senior Thesis (a video) this year, and I really really cannot afford to have my computer crash on me.

Getting the blue screen of death when connecting iphone

Hello,
Suddenly, for no apparent reason, my laptop to which I have synced my Iphone for over a year is crashing when connecting my phone to sync. I have a 3gs running OS 4.3 and Itunes is up to date. When I first got the phone, I had to disable the built in webcam on the laptop in order to prevent this same problem but it has been working fine since.
I have updated all the drivers but to no avail. Anyone else having this problem?

What is nipalk.sys and why does it give me the Blue Screen of Death?

Recently I purchased a 6211 USB data acquistion unit. Everything worked fine until one day Windows Explorer crashed (we all know how rare that kind of event is...). When I re-booted, I got the Blue Screen of Death, with a message about nipalk.sys being the culprit. I booted in Safe Mode and re-named this file, and then was able to boot normally and re-install the driver software for the 6211, and everything was fine...for about a week, when Windows Explorer did it again (Oops!).
Does anyone know:
    1. Which exact part of the install supplies nipalk.sys? It is a huge install with multiple parts accross 2 CDs. I could save a lot of time if I could restrict the install to just repairing the damage.
    2. Can I just make a copy of nipalk.sys and tuck it away in some corner of my hard drive to use as a replacement when this happens?
    3. I'm guessing that nipalk.sys is used by the little system tray icon that watches out for DAQ devices to be plugged into my USB. Is this guess correct? Can I turn this feature off for the 99% of the time I'm not using my laptop for data acquisition? Will that protect me against the gorking of nipalk.sys when Explorer goes down?
    4. What is this driver doing that its file disk becomes corrupted during a Windows Explorer crash?

OK. When I can afford the time, I will try removing all NI software and re-installing. I have LabVIEW 8.0, DAQmx (of course), NI Vision development, and IMAQ.
I also had LabVIEW 7.1 on my machine because it was too much trouble to
remove it when I upgraded to 8.0 I have since removed 7.1, but I think there are still a lot of older versions of the "extras" that came along with it still lurking on my hard drive....
I was hoping for some guidance for a short-term "work around:"
1. If I just re-install DAQmx, can I make a copy of nipalk.sys and store it somewhere as a back-up to avoid the painfully long 2 CD re-install of DAQmx?
2. If the answer to 1 is "no", then exactly what part of DAQmx installs nipalk.sys? It is a multi-part install, and if I know which part is responsible for nipalk.sys, I can repair just that and save a lot of time.
To answer your questions about version: I'm not sure. I don't have convenient access to the disks at the moment, but they came with my 6211, which I ordered in May of 2007. I would be tempted to call it "the latest", but DAQmx seems to get updated quite frequently, so let's just call it a "recent" version.

Blue screen of death when building blu-ray in Encore CS6

I recently purchased a new laptop and installed Adobe Master Collection CS6. I purchased the laptop for video capture and editing, as well as for blu-ray authoring.
Unfortunately, although the computer and software works fine for video capture and editing, I am unable to author a blu-ray. For authoring, I am using Adobe’s Encore CS6. After checking and previewing my creation, I attempt to build to disc using Encore. About 2 seconds after clicking the build disc in Encore, I get the “blue screen of death” (BSOD). This happens every time I try to build to blu-ray (only blu-ray has this issue; I am able to build to a DVD). I am using an external blu-ray drive on USB 3.0.
I am using Encore version 6.0.0.492

Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help

ITunes and the blue screen of death.

Over about the past week now iTunes has been giving me this error when I try to disconnect/eject my iPod from with in iTunes.
+"The iPod cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application."+
It also will not allow me to eject it from the Safely Remove Hardware function on the task bar.
When I then try to close down iTunes it gives me the blue screen of death. I have the error code which corresponds with it, and the code is one which mentions Removable Media Devices as the reason for the error.
I've read a bit about this, and tried a few things. But to no avail.
I'm going to move all the files off of my iPod and reset the iPod itself when I get home.
Short of that, is there anything else which may fix this problem?

One thing to check is if you have any new or previously updated anti virus software.
It could be trying to scan the ipod while itunes is trying to sync to it.

I have a new iPhone 4 and every time I plug it into my laptop I get the "blue screen of death", it didn't do this the first time because I downloaded all my music from iTunes but ever since it has done this. Anybody have any insight?

I have an iPhone 5S and I never got water on it, dropped it, or inflicted any kind of damage upon it. But one day when I turned it on it kept getting this blue screen and then restarting CONSTANTLY. My version of Publisher is 2010 and my OS is Windows 8.1.
64-bit OS x64 based processor.
I'm not too sure if this issue has arrisen when I upraded to Windows 8.1.
My Dell printer(Dell all in one) has also stopped working due to a driver issue now not being supported.

10.5 Install Brings the Blue Screen of Death

Hi,
I could really use some help. I just tried to upgrade from 10.4.11 to 10.5. I'm on a power pc mac (12" G4) with 1.67 GHz. Here's a rundown of what I've done so far.
1. Upgraded from 10.5 disc - went all the way through, but upon restart, i got the blue screen of death. I could see and move the cursor but nothing else.
2. Manually shut down. Restarted with installation disc and ran disk utility - no disk errors or permissions errors.
3. Restarted again with internal drive as startup disk. Again, blue screen of death.
4. Tried to reset pram (reset-nvram and reset-all). Again, blue screen of death.
5. Went back to install disc and re-installed 10.5. Again, went through successfully. Upon restart, yet again the blue screen of death. This time, the cursor is the colored spinning wheel. I've let it go overnight in case in needed a little time and it's still there.
PLEASE HELP! I've backed up everything, but there are a handful of files I neglected to backup. Not life-changing, but would be good to salvage.

I had already given up on a straight upgrade and instead went for the archive and install option which has worked without a hitch. All is well. Has even resolved my synching woes with my treo. Note that you should make sure you have enough drive space since I'm now down to a paltry 3GB when I once had about 12GB.

Why does my 4s keep returning tot the boot screen (apple logo) when I press the home button to see the lock screen?

3 or 4 times since I first fired up my iPhone 4S yesterday, it has displayed the boot screen (apple logo) when I press the Home button to display the lock screen. After 10-20 seconds the phone displays the lock screen, but at that point it has to search for a cell signal (as if the phone just booted up), which takes another 20-30 seconds.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Another thing that has happened only once, but that seems related, is that when I clicked the lock button on the top of the phone, the phone displayed the spinning circle that usually displays when an iPhone or iPad is shutting down.
Any ideas on what MIT be causing this?

Disk repair hasn't worked as well.
I just wanted to add a quick observation: after I tried the TM restore for the first time, Safe Boot in verbose mode seems to be stuck at this line "VBoxAdpDrv: version 3.1.0 r55467". This may point to the problem being a Virtual Box problem.
I use Virtual Box extremely rarely - haven't used it in many months. After a re-install, I'm going to remove it and then try the upgrade. If it works, then we've probably found the culprit. If it is real, Apple should maybe add a line saying Virtual Box known to cause problems with this upgrade (or fix it ).

When I open FireFox i get the blue screen of death and then vista restarts. I get to login and then afterthe welcome window it crashes and restarts again. I can open in safe mode but if I open firefox again it restarts this loop.

The other day I opened firefox after the latest update in September. Firefox then closes and then i get logged off and vista(32 bit) restarts. I get back to login and when I try to login it gives me the blue screen and restarts again with the selection screen (start in safe mode....)I was able to login on safe mode and then on admin afterwards. Thinking the problem was just an error I went back and opened firefox on my account and the loop started again. I was forced to remove firefox but I want ti back and I want to know how this can be fixed so I can put it back on my computer.

When I clicked on Firefox, the update bar started but when it stopped Firfox would not open. The blue screen of death popped up and said something about a new installation. We restarted the computer and now Firefox will not open. Help!

When I clicked to open Firefox the update bar appeared and an update loaded. Usually when this happens Firefox will open up when the update is finished. This time it did not open. when I clicked on the icon again the blue screen opened and said something about a new installation and if this was the first time you have seen this screen restart your computer and try again. I restarted the computer and when I clicked on the Firefox icon the "hour glass" would appear like it was trying to open but it never would open. I don't know what else to do.

Firefox is causing my computer to crash. It is causing the blue screen of death. What can I do to solve this problem?

Mozilla firefox is crashing my computer. It will run and the blue screen would come on because of this I cannot run firefox on my computer anymore. What to do?

Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.

Can't get past the blue screen of death

I woke up this morning to discover my computer froze on the screensaver sometime last night. I restarted and after the grey apple screen got a blue screen which shifted to a lighter blue screen with the mouse cursor and it never moves beyond that. My Applecare expired in July. Here's everything I've tried:
-I was running Leopard, so put my Leopard disc in to startup from it and run Disc Doctor, it weirdly spits it out, while I'm holding 'C' and right about the time it should startup from it.
-I zapped the PRAM
-I reset the SMU
-I tried running tech tools from the Apple Care Disc, it spits that one out too
-I restarted in 'single user mode', ran fsck and it corrected a couple things but no change
-I put in the Tiger Install Disc that came with the computer, I'm able to startup from that and I go ahead and run disc doctor. nothin
-I run hardware test, the extended version, everything passes, calming my fears about the logicboard, video card, etc
-I restarted from the Install Disc and perform an Archive and Install of Tiger. It all goes smoothly, except now it goes from the grey apple screen and freezes at the first blue screen, not making it to the lighter one with a cursor.
-I retry using the Apple Care Disc with Tech Tools and instead of spitting it out, it takes a really long time to load and come up with 2 blue squares overlapping on a black background, a Tech Tools Glow Plugin finder window comes up in one of them and then everything freezes with weird red pixels across the top of the finder window. ODD
-NEW EVENT, it can boot in Safe Mode in Tiger. What should I do from there?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It reads the disc when I have it running in Tiger Safe Mode, but won't startup from it. It no longer spits it out, but the disc spins and spins and the fan runs hardcore for a few mins and nothing beyond the blue screen.
I do have another Mac, but its an older powerbook from work and I can't really do much on it. The powers that be control pretty much everything on it.
In theory, would a clean install (from my Tiger disc) take care of this all? I'm considering getting another external harddrive to backup everything and then just whiping the harddrive and starting over.

New MacBook getting the "Blue Screen of Death" equivalent

So I just snagged a macbook from my school's bookstore.
I've gotten the "you need to restart your computer message" that shows up in 5 languages or so twice already in the first day. i.e. the Mac equivalent of the Windows "Blue Screen of Death". I believe its called a "Fatal Error".
I don't remember what I was trying to do the first time (I /think/ I was attempting to browse my network from the sidebar in Finder), but the second I was trying to get a program called Studiometry (http://www.oranged.net/studiometry/) to connect to my iMac and sync the program's database. I was already connected via Finder (Go >> Connect to Server). When I chose "connect to server" in Studiometry a second after it attempted to connect--Kaboom! I can't get the program to connect, but that doesn't concern me: I'm more worried about keeping this suspect machine.
Other than playing with the pre-installed stuff (iLife, PhotoBooth, etc.) I have:
1. Installed Windows XP SP2 with Boot Camp
2. Used http://www.logmein.com/ to remote in from OS X on my MacBook to Windows Vista Ultimate at work.
3. Installed Studiometry
There is nothing else I have done that doesn't come in the box.
I had a PowerBook give me grief the first week and the bum crashed on me pretty hard. Not interested in that again and I'm thinking of taking this back for a new one. Ugly babies usually get cute in a month or two, but ugly computers typically don't.
Any suggestions?

Ever since I started paying attention to battery power v. adapter, all have occurred on battery power and none while the adapter was plugged in. (The first two I don't know, but all the rest were on battery).
One of them actually happened while I was sending a file using Bluetooth from my iMac (still probably airport though since it was on).
While this is fun and all, I'm taking this bugger back and exchanging for a new one. Apple can have a blast troubleshooting this for a refurb. :P
