Why is Federal Finacials Licensed

Hi
Looking at my licensed list I can see that Federal Financials is licensed.
I have GL and Common Financial Modules - which we will use, but I did not select Federal Financials (FV).
Is it automaitcally licensed with another product (like common financial modules?)
I am just going through the RPC financials patch list for 12.1.3 and would rather not patch this area - but will feel obliged if it is licensed / some how used.

Hi Jose,
As far as I know, for Enterprise E1 plan, subscribers can only add Office 365 Message Encryption on a per-user basis by purchasing Windows Azure Rights Management. You might want to have a check and see if you've added this for E1 users.

Why are alll the license agreements in arabic not English?

Help get Adobe to fix this! At least it's true for Flash Player, I haven't checked others.

The license agreements are in multiple languages. When I open the Flash Player license agreement using the Adobe Reader plugin, it automatically jumps to the English section (page 87). The top page starts with the Arabic version, as it is first in the alphabet.
You can also activate the bookmarks and jump directly to the English pages.
How are you viewing it?

Why cannot up-to-date licenses be managed in VLM at the same time as not up-to-date licenses?
NI says that existing DIAdem licenses (not up-to-date, but legal) on VLM cannot be merged with new (up-to-date) LabVIEW licenses will not work on VLM. Why cannot two separate license files be installed? Or, what about the alternative of running two VLM installations on one server by using different ports? Do I really have to have two VLM installations, each on a different server??

License (EULA) Questions - Photoshop Elements 11

The Photoshop Elements 11 EULA (Gen_WWCombined-en-us-20111219-1230-clean.pdf, page 3, sections 2.1.3 & 2.1.5) states that you "must purchase a separate license for use of the Software on each operating system platform" in a dual boot scenario. My scenario is not a dual boot one, but I do want to run the program on both my Dell Desktop PC (Win 7 Pro) and my Apple MacBook Pro Laptop (OS X 10.7.5). Does that mean I'll have to purchase two licenses as well? If so, is this enforced at the program installation/activation level, or just in the law? Also, why? If the license allows for two installations, why must they be on the same platform?

WLC 5508 Base-Ap-Count License Inactive

I have two licenses on a WLC 5508 "base-ap-count permenant 100 Count medium Inactive" and "base-ap-count permanent 150 count medium In Use". Should both the 100 and 150 be added up to make 250? Why is the 100 license inactive? There is no option to make it active.

Both 5 license and 10 license have the dropdown arrow available to delete. Is it ok to delete them?

Mountain Lion Volume Licensing

My company is looking to upgrade our Mac Pros to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard.
I have found the Volume License for Mountain Lion on the store - http://store.apple.com/au_smb_4860/product/D6358Z/A
It says "OS X Mountain Lion Volume License 20+" - now there's nothing on there that says whether that includes 20 licences or we have to buy it separately each time for each Mac.
Can anyone shed some light for me?

Well for one thing, there is no difference in pricing between this and the retail copy - so why offer a volume license at all?
I only need to upgrade 5-6 machines, so 20+ licenses is also a bit of overkill.
And I am confused as to the Apple ID that will be used to download Mountain Lion to each Mac, as we don't want to provide codes to users to add to their own Apple ID.

How can I distribute an app for specific customers only

I have developed an app that our customers can take to a remote site, input data at the site, then return to the office and upload their data to software that they purchased from us. This app would be useless to anybody that does not have our software.
We could put it in the App Store but anybody could download it (not that it would do them any good). We would like to have an easy way for our customers to obtain the app (like the Store), but not just make it available to anybody. It is
free to our customers since they already have a license for our software.
I am aware of the enterprise sideloading option but that seems problematic as well and your own documentation says to use the store if you are deploying to users outside your company: "Enterprise
apps usually fall into one of two categories: apps you deploy to users outside of your company (including customers and business partners), and apps you deploy only to users within your company. If
you want to make your app available to people outside of your company, your best option is to list the app in the Windows Store. "
In addition, with enterprise sideloading, there seems to be some sort of licensing requirement and you have to purchase 100 of them? Why is there a licensing fee if you can upload your app to the store and customers can get it for free? Our customers
are not going to want to purchase 100 licenses since they only need a handful and we are not going to provide them either. So, back to the Windows Store.
There should be some sort of Store option that maybe requires a password to access and download the app, plus provides a category that is actually suitable for enterprise apps (the categories in the store are very limited and none seem applicable).
Anyhow, I'm hoping you can help clear this up for us.

How to restart my scrolling imac.

When i start my imac the apple comes up and then screen icon just scrolls. any suggestions? I checked the OS X UTILITIES harddrive by restarting it with Command "R" and it said "the volume Macintosh HD appears to be ok. . i relaunched the OS Xsoftware, but when i restart the computer it doesnt the same thing all the time. can anyone help here?

Well, if the recovery method does not work, then the Mac did not come with Lion (10.7.x) originally. In that case, the seller was supposed to wipe the drive and reinstall the original system and also give you the original install disks. Why? Because the license from the app store is not transferable - everybody has to buy their own.
If you don't have install diks, I would suggest to either call Apple or go to the Genius Bar and ask the following:
(Make sure you copy the serial number first - you will need it. Then ask)
"Please check this serial number to see when the Mac was first produced and which OS version was on it originally. If it is anything earlier than 10.7 (like 10.6 or 10.5), can I please have replacements for the original install disks sent to me."
If the answer is that it shipped with 10.7, then simply ask the Genius to help you why recovery does not work.
If the answer is 10.6 or earlier, wait for the install disks to come and then you can boot from that, erase your drive, and start over. You will need to buy Lion (10.7) with your own Apple ID.

Connection fails if server and clients are in different subnets

Hello,
our Volume License Manager (v2.1) is running in another subnets than the clients (All machines are running under Windows XP-SP2 without Domains or ADS, just workgroups).
The server is in subnet A (192.168.42.0/24), all clients are located in another subnet B (192.168.50.0/24).
Routing is properly configured and is working fine, traffic to the specific hosts is not blocked by a firewall. We can ping every machine,
open telnet connections to the NILM, everything works.
But if the clients try to connect to the remote NILM (both local client NI License Manager and VLM port settings are correct) their connection attempt always
times out with error code "NILM10"
(I already read the mentioned KBs, no solution has helped so far). This is true if clients and server are separated.
For testing purposes, i plugged one client into the server's subnet (server's IP: 192.168.50.250, client 192.168.50.10)
and it worked perfectly. Is there a reason why server and client have to be on the same subnet or is it some other kind of problem that I am not aware of?

Did you add the server's domain to the client computer's DNS settings. To do this, complete the following steps on the client computer:
1. Open Local Area Network Settings from the Control Panel (Start»Control Panel»Network Connections»Local Area Connection)
2. Click the Properties button
3. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) from the list of network components
4. Click the Properties button
5. Click the Advanced button
6. Change to the DNS tab
7. Ensure Append these DNS suffixes is selected
8. Click the Add button
9. Enter the domain suffix of the license server and click Add
10. Close any open dialog boxes, choosing OK and Close as necessary.
