Why is FIOS TV not available in League City, TX?

League City has had FIOS internet for years but no TV is in sight. Customer service told me it was because there is no local franchise agreement, but that is handedled by the state and not our local city goverment. Other verizon territories in Texas have it so I'm not sure why we would not. The few local techs I have talked with have said that something is close. I know many in my area, many people went with comcast because of the lack of TV. I'm sure many would switch over if FIOS TV was avaiable.

From what I understand Texas took that decision away from local officials over 10 years ago. The state grants the local franchise agreement. I guess I could check with my local state rep. When we first got FIOS the tech said there was some additional infrastructure needed and maybe verizon doesn't want to use the capital for it. Especially with the proposed "over the top" LTE solution supposedly coming within a year.

if you can connect to btwifi without the app then I wouldn't bother trying to find the apk file
if you have an android smartphone then you can download the app and get the apk file to sideload on to your nook

I bought Lumia710 in Taiwan, I think Nokia also sold many 710 for Taiwan people.
But why Lumia710 is update not available for Taiwan users ?

I understand your frustration, however update availability can vary depending on Region and carrier, this is because some regions and carriers may not have signed off the update or have policies preventing the update occuring.

Why are certains applications not available in South African App Store?

Why are certain applications such as Google Earth, Google Mobile App, and most games not available in the South African App Store.
We speak English so localisation should not be a problem.
I'm sure there are no legal reasons why these applications are not available here, as we have desktop equivalents for most of them.

You would have to ask Apple and/or the company that makes the app and/or - most likely - the Government of your country.
I'm sure Apple and the app developer would love to sell more apps.

Sorry, but no one here will know why any content is not available in the iTunes Store. Apple never makes statements that I've ever seen, so unless the show's network or owner says something, we just can't know. There could well be contractual issues between the talent and the producers, or the producers and the network, an exclusive deal signed with some other online provider, or any number of other reasons. Your guess is as good as ours.

Michael is correct. While iTunes Match has been rolled out in many countries, India certainly is not the only country where it is not yet available.

Why is disk optimization not available on our Surface with 8.1?

We have a Surface with Windows 8.1 RT. When I go to the Tools and try to Optimize (trim) the SSD it says "Optimization not available" and the Analyze and Optimize buttons are greyed out. I've seen posts where others are able to optimize
their drives, so what am I missing in this case. I checked the Services for Optimization and it was set to manual, but even when turning it on at startup automatically it makes no difference. Any ideas on how to optimize on the Surface?

S. Sengupta, I think you are missing the point of my original post. Of course I know you don't defrag an SSD. But you can optimize them using Trim. I have two other notebooks running Windows 8.1 and both have the ability to optimize the
SSDs as shown in the screenshot AnaBna posted. This is not normal behavior for the options to be greyed out, and only our Surface with 8.1 RT exhibits this behavior. Possibly this IS normal for a Surface, and if there is anyone else out there with
a Surface (regular, not Pro) willing to look they can tell me if theirs is also un-optimizable. The only thing that makes me think other's with a Surface can optimize is that when I searched for a solution to this others mention they can do this on their
Surface.
I say this with all respect, but I think sometimes on this forum people just fire off answers very quickly without really reading the whole question or knowing the answer just to get credit for posts and points.
