We have seen issues reported caused by Avast and the Avast! Online Security extension that shows in the System Details List.
Check out why the site is untrusted (click "Technical Details to expand that section) and if this is caused by a missing intermediate certificate then see if you can install this intermediate certificate from another source.
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer of the certificate.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
If "I Understand the Risks" is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
Note that some firewalls monitor (secure) connections and that programs like Sendori or Fiddler (FiddlerRoot) can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.

I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. hello, this is a scam tactic that is trying to trick you into installing malware, so don't download or execute this kind of stuff - updates are handled automatically by firefox so you don't have to download anything (you can always initiate a manual check for updates in ''firefox > help > about firefox'').
you might also want to run a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and different tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes], [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] & [http://www.kaspersky.com/security-scan kaspersky security scan] in order to make sure that there isn't already some sort of malware active on your system that triggers these false alerts.

Using 10.6.1 I am unable to block specific web sites through the parental controls. The site in particular I was trying to block ended in .tv/ Is there a problem in snow leopard or is this type of site not able to be blocked?

There are a variety of Adobe services that need to remain enabled in order for Photoshop to work.
I would log in to the administrator account and make sure anything with Adobe is set to "allow."
Then, log in to the restricted account and test. If Photoshop works as expected, you can turn off one item at a time until you find the one that "breaks" Photoshop's functionality.

Thanks for the clarification on the terms. I consider myself proficent at my computer, but not exactly in its inner-workings! I have 8 GB of memory installed.
I am still confused as to why I do not have any space for the program. This is the exact error message I get: "There is not enough free space on Macintosh HD disk. The Print Shop 2 application requires about 550 MB to be installed. Free some disk space and try again."

Send to:" My only e-mail account is through my Comcast.net account but Comcast is not an option. When I choose Firefox, which is an option, a new blank window opens but I have no idea how to generate an outgoing e-mail message. This is very frustrating because I cannot seem to find any help with this issue and i seem to be precluded from e-mailing numerous organizations because of this. I do not want to create a new gmail or other type of e-mail account if I can help it. I already have enough accounts and passwords to try and keep a handle on.

Web sites containing mms links work in IE but not Firefox 4.0. when I play the video in IE, I go into IE, and locate the mms link under properties, when I right click. If I copy the mms link form IE directly into firefox, it will work. There ought to be a better way to do this. Also, I am using a hardware firewall, not a software firewall, and no proxy.

You need to use the file:// protocol, but you may still encounter problems if you fix that.
