Why is Firefox having problems with add-ons since I upgraded to 3.6.9?
Firefox upgraded it self today to the latest version 3.6.9 and now my add-ons don't start. I can still see them in the Tools>Add-ons>Extensions window. But they are not running. I have allready tried to delete the extensions.ini, extensions.rdf and extensions.cache files but it didn't help. And if I click on any of the Option buttons in the Add-ons window it just freezes. Firefox keeps runing and seemes unafected but the Add-ons window doesn't respond any more. I can't close it and it even stayes open after I close Firefox.

I tried disabling all add-ons and resetting all user preferences but it didn't fix the problem. So I tried your second recommendation. And when I booted Firefox with the new Profile everything was OK. I added my add-ons and they worked great. The only problem was that if I closed Firefox the new profile I created disappeared. The old, corrupt profile was still there but the new one wasn't. In the end I even deleted the old, default profile. This only made the matter worse. Every newely created profile would still disapeare if I closed Firefox and without a profile Firefox wouldn't start, saying that it is already running in the background and that I should stop the process or reboot my PC. Needless to say there was no firefox.exe process running in the background and even rebooting wouldn't make Firefox start. Well not knowing what to do next I did a compete uninstall of Firefox, rebooted my PC and installed a fresh copy of Firefox 3.6.9. I imported my bookmarks and added my add-ons and (for now) everything works as it should.

I'm having problems with my internet since I have upgraded. I am afraid to upgrade on my Macbook pro now. I don't want the upgrade to slow down my laptops. Any suggestions?
Wifi issues are one of the common issues being reported by users. There is not much you can do at this point but wait and hope that th 10.8.1 update will address these issues.

When you have kernel panics, the pertinent information is in the panic report.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". Select the most recent one. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway. -
Am I the only one having problems with ringer volume since the update?
Am I the only one having problems with ringer volume since the update?? I'm hard of hearing and before updating to IOS7 I could hear my alarm and ringer just fine. Volume is turned up all the way and I've chosen the loudest sounds I could and still having a difficult time hearing.
Annie Hall is available on DVD only.
It is not available for streaming and I believe movies available for streaming are the only movies available with the Netflix app on an iOS device. -
I have been having problem for cac access since I upgrade from OSX 10.6 to OSX 10.8. Now it is aking me to select a certificate, but there is none listed.

When I check my yahoo mail, a lot of times emails will disappear, or I will click on one to read, and it will open one that is above it. Also there are times when I am on a page, and a yahoo search page will open saying page could not be found, and it wasnt even something I was doing.

Having a problem with Add-ons I did not install and now can't uninstall.
Lately I have experienced problems with re-directing and other issues with Mozilla. I looked in my add-ons list and there are several things there that i did not add manually. (I have been having much trouble with ITunes and noticed a plug in in mozilla and want to know if it is necessary.) Is there a way to keep this from happening? I have been using mozilla for years and liked it when I could do a basic install without any add-ons that I did not request. Here is a list of the things that are troubling me - I am sure a few may be necessary. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me with this?

I do not understand what you mean about your update problem -
I lose the add-ons when Firefox automatically upgrades to the latest version but this is not the only time. It may work for 5-10 days without a problem then without warning or error, it just losess the add-ons, upgrade or no upgrade. This is most annoying as they will not re-download and re-install and all I can do is reset Firefox then re-customise the browser again to my look and feel, then have to download and re-install these add-ons again. It seems like I am doing this continually over and over again.
Thanks Cor-el but I am with azgirl7 that trying to follow the instructions is not easy. I have had some success by copying all my profiles from C:\Users\Brendan (my name) \AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles to a spare folder I have created. When Firefox updates or changes, I delete the profiles and copy them back from the spare folder. But this does not work every time. All in all, it is very time consuming and one that Mozilla should have an easier method to protect as well restore.

Firefox process does not stop. Reset Firefox and Restart with Add ons disabbled is also not working.
I always need to stop firefox in the task manager.
Resetting and restarting without add ons is not possible because Firefox hangs on shut down.Hi, I was experiencing the same problem since a couple of weeks. I am on Firefox 18, WinXP SP3.
The way I got rid of it was by '''removing a file called secmod.db ''' in my firefox profile directory. Firefox recreated the file and the problem is gone.
By default the profile directory on WinXP is C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\something.default
I guess on Windows Vista and up, the folder is somewhere below c:\users. Doing a search for .default might help you find it. I think it is a hidden/system folder though, so you might want to turn their visibility on.

I play alot of games on Facebook. I have started encountering a problem with my "flash player crashing"... I have uninstalled all Adobe products and reinstalled them to no avail. It seems to happen more when I am using the games put out by Zynga. I cannot understand why it's happening, and certainly don't know what to do to fix it. Hello everyone....
We have used ZENWorks imaging for years. We always just got one computer the
way we liked it and then we took an image of it. Then we just took that
image and used it on every other computer of that model we had.
Periodically, we would update the image with the latest patches and
application updates and take a new image.
That worked great until about 4 months ago....
Suddenly, after updating the image and then putting it on a different
computer, Windows would blow up. It looked like the image wasn't as big as I
would have expected it. I contacted Novell and they told me that my images
were too large.
Their suggestion was to create a base image and then use add-on images to
make updates from the base..
The problem is that the add-ons don't seem to work. Near as I can tell, I
should put the base image on and create an add-on images from an existing
NAL application for the installation of the updates. But that is not working
for me. I have a NAL app to run the setup.exe for Office 2010 and I created
the image file from it. When I try to add it in nothing happens.
Is it not working because I am using the NAL app to run the setup instead of
using AdminStudio to track the changes that the installation of Office 2010
does when the product is installed?

MY keyboard has been giving me trouble since I updated the iOS 8.3. It stutter stops while I'm texting, if I keep trying to type it may eventually catch up, but also drops a period if I keep hitting the space bar because the cursor isn't moving. Yet another problem with an update. This has been the worst year to own an apple product!
