Why is Firefox's video playback ability gettting worse and worse as time goes on?

It seems like no matter which type of video player or plugin is being used in FF, the video and interface will lag like crazy anytime you mouse over and try to use/click anything. It's really bad in YouTube, but it happens pretty much everywhere else as well.
I have tried running in SafeMode to see if any of my addons were causing the issue, but the problem persisted to an equal degree while in it.
I really do enjoy using FF more than Chrome, but you guys are making it really, really hard for me to want to stay. Even though it has been argued that Chrome is no faster, it definitely seems to be at the very least on the basis of perception. It's definitely "faster" from a smoothness and stability standpoint when talking about video playback.
The the speed difference, even if it is just perception, has not been enough to sway me from liking some features that I can get through FF's addons that I can't get with Chrome extensions. I've tried switching before, and it just isn't quite there yet for me in functionality. The weird, seemingly continual degradation is about to make me put up with whatever minor functionality may be lost in other browsers, however. I'm already at a point where I switch to Chrome anytime I watch YouTube videos, and it's getting close to be what I use for everything else.

Watch this video in Firefox vs Chrome (or IE or Opera...) and notice the geometrical distortion and jerkiness (called "tearing" in video circles) that happens in Firefox but not in other browsers. Chrome is the smoothest with the fewest dropped frames. Firefox is the only one that adds this distortion (watch the rectangles closely...)

That seems strange. Try an iPad reset and see if this fixes the problem,
Reset your iPad by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPad will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.

Well, this may not help anyone else, but I figured out my issue.
After reinstalling 3.6.4, it too was doing the same thing, using 25% CPU consistently, unable to move the window around, etc.
As bizarre as it sounds, this seems to have been an issue with having a tab open playing flash video during an update/install.
After 3.6.4 was doing it as well, I closed the justin.tv tab and restarted 3.6.4, opened justin.tv back up and it was fine using 2-4% CPU or so instead of 25%. Window can be moved around again too.
Downloaded the full 3.6.6 installer, closed the jtv tab, reinstalled 3.6.6, launched, and reopened a tab for jtv... fine still using 2-4% CPU tops.
Very bizarre. Nothing else changed during any of this other than whether I had JTV open and playing video during the update/install and subsequently if it would be loading as soon as it restarted after the update/install.
After the initial startup, I can close and reopen Firefox as much as I want with the JTV tab open and playing and it has no further issues.
Weird.

Why is firefox 7b using a lot more memory and cpu on my computer?

I'm trying firefox 7 beta in a debian squeeze box. It is using a lot of RAM and CPU compared to previous releases of firefox(I've tried disabling all plugins and add-ons, not a big improvement). I'm using firefox on all my computers for a while now. So changing the browser is not an option for me now.

Is it using a significant amount more resources than 6.0 did?
I noticed 6.0 is a VAST resource hog over 5.0 and earlier. It's a very bad flaw in the new version, and has a lot of people upset.
What has me curious is whether this is a new resource problem or whether it was present in 6.0 and you are just not noticing it.
One suggestion: Don't run BETA versions of ANY software on "all your machines". Not when rolling back the version is not an option. That's generally a bad idea, since beta versions are likely to have bugs.
With FF, now, I would never let it automatically update. I don't trust their new update policies, so I would suggest you turn "auto updates" to OFF, and do it manually, only after you hear the new release is stable, which we know 6.0 is NOT.

Why did Mountain Lion slow down my shut down and boot up time for my MacBook Pro?

I had Snow Leopard, and not Lion. My shut down time rose from about 5 seconds to 10-15 seconds. My start up time also increased noticeabley. Any reason why because I thought Mountain Lion was supposed to be faster.

I have very few apps other than what came on my MBP. I've checked most other, really dont think this is the problem. My MBP is not junked/cluttered up. Not many programs, just pictures, videos, and some docs. Everything seems to work smoothly once on, but the start up and shut down times are still double what they were when I bought with snow leopard (Not Windows like, but scary close). I cannot find any solution that will work. My opinion, should not have to do a clean install for it to work. Some folks have not experienced these issues, so I think its some setting or something else that is my problem. I have 4GB RAM, and considering increasing to 8, but from what I have read else where thsi will not increase boot or shutdown, way even increase. Right now, not sure if the new ML features out way the slow boot and shut down.

By the way I also heard that FFv11 or v12 will have its own speed dial if so will it be like Josep del Rio's speed dial extension by that I mean were its fully customizable for example you could add new groups or decide how many rows/columns you want to have.

Firefox closes itself. I have uninstalled and reinstalled five times in 2 months. What can I do?

Why do some youtube videos run for a while and then freeze in firefox

HI i am having a problem with the lasted firefox browser. You see when I go to this website to watch a video witch is through youtubthe video will play for a little bit and then it will freeze but the audio of the video will keep playing but the video will still be frozen. I have went into firefox and I did go into tools and under privacy where it says clear recent history and I did put a check mark into clear catche, cookies, website preferences and push on the continue button. Then I went back to the website and again I did try and watch the youtube video with the same problem as described above. So then I did uninstall Adobe flash player and shockwave player and re downloaded both flash player and shockwave player and reinstalled them again. This changed nothing the youtube video keeps freezing and the audio keeps plays even when the video is frozen in firefox.
edit: I was wondering can your antivirus cause videos from youtube to freeze.
Help would be appreciated please.

Why do my mp4 videos playback off track from the audio?

it's been doing this for awhile now ever since i upgraded an itunes version, is there a buffer setting i can adjust? this is a good machine lots of memory, sata harddrives, etc. and on a whim i tried songbird (itunes knockoff) and they play fine!! I LIKE ITUNES but this is driving me nuts...

If you continue to get Video Audio out of sync, try this one:
Control panel
Sound (Hardware n Sound)
Under Playback tab, highlight each device and click Properties button
Go to Advanced tab and change Sample Rate to 16bit 48000hz (DVD Quality) or 96000hz (Studio Quality), OK n OK.

Why does Firefox 8 negate my ability to resize a website page using Touchsmart?

Firefox 8 has turned off the capability to resize a window horizontally...it still works vertically, but this basically negates the reason to have a computer such as TouchSmart.

So why would Firefox suddenly lose the ability to do tabbed browsing?

I have a new Samsung NF310 running Windows 7 Starter on which I installed Firefox, probably version 4.X, a week ago. All operated normally until today, when if I click on a new tab I get the little circle that says "We're working on it", but the new tab never opens, after as much as fifteen minutes. I closed and re-opened Firefox, and re-booted the computer to no effect. I then uninstalled Firefox and installed version 3.6, which is what is loaded now. Now a new tab lights up as long as the cursor is over the tab, but clicking on the tab has no effect. I've been loading various software, but otherwise cannot think of any changes in Firefox's environment here.

You might try connecting each computer to the working switch port just to be sure you don't have a problem with the computers. Then try a working computer on the other switch ports to be sure the switch is fully functional. Similarly, check out the modem/router with each computer. This will verify if all the hardware is functional.
If the hardware is all OK, then check your Network configs for all the computers and be sure they are properly configured. Then shut down the computers, switch, and cable modem. Wait at least one minute. Then turn on the cable modem/router and wait until the status lights indicate communication with the ISP. Then power up the switch. Last, power up the computers.

Choppy video playback with FCP 6 and 5D footage already converted to Aplle ProRes 422

I am trying to edit a film I shot on the Canon 5D using FCP 6. I converted my raw files from the Canon 5D to Apple ProRes (HQ) .
But as I try to work on the timeline everything is super choppy and drops frames constantly. I am trying to sync audio as well and it's been impossible since the video in not playing properly.
I have read many post and did everything you say to do, but no luck.
I have chosen the unlimited RT and still dosent wanna play right.
I'm editing off a 1TB G-RAID drive. It currently has 200GB left of free space, so that shouldn't slow things down. My computer has a 500GB Internal Hard Drive and I currently have 250GB of internal free space. Here are the specification of my computer:

You could have a problem with your external drive. Run diskutility: diskrepair and diskwarrior (if you've got it) on it Is it formatted macosextended?   You might run a drive speed test and see if the drive is running up to spec.
Try copying one file to your internal drive and see if that plays any better.
Have you tried deleting your fcp preferences? (get preference manager from www.digitalrebellion.com)
Are you just monitoring the video on the computer screen?
You might try resetting your window arrangement in fcp; window: arrange: standard and see if that makes a difference.
Is playback uneven on both viewer and canvas in fcp?
I'd go out and buy a 7200 Sata drive and install it internally and try playing off of that. MacPro's have 4 internal drive bays and it's extremely easy to install another drive.

Why are my exported videos in Premiere Pro pixilated and blurry?

I'm recording game footage with Dxtory (settings below), and once I export the video and uploaded it to YouTube, it's pixilated and blurry.
In the link there are 2 images, the one on the left is a screenshot of a pixilated part of the video, and the one on the right is a non-pixilated portion within the same video.

I used Imgur because Adobe's image uploader reduces the size to 450x605
I have a GTX 780, but I'm not using the 'CUDA' setting under project settings, so I'd assume the Graphics Card doesn't matter.

I recorded and uploaded in 29.97 fps, but for sake of argument, I've rerecorded a 30 second clip in 30 fps recorded, and uploaded in 30 fps.

The render settings were mostly matched by source, with the following:

30 fps
field order: progressive
aspect: Square Pixels (1.0)
TV Standard: NTSC
Profile: Main
Level: 4.1
I then used VBR, 1 pass with 30 Mbps for target and maximum bitrate.
Sadly, the issue persists. I am completly lost as to what this issue is, and am unsure why I'm getting the issue, but other YouTubers don't (when uploading game footage).

One of my partners in New York just sent me an email to say that when he went onto our site www.101BusinessInsights.info a huge banner appeared on his screen saying " this not a trusted site and that legitimate businesses are trusted by Firefox"
Please can you advise why this is so and what can be done to make sure this does not happen.
