Why is Firefox very slow and Safari fast, opening up Yahoo/AOL?
My iMac is all up to date, running fine! My wife loves AOL, the default browser for her is Safari. It runs fine and is fast. I prefer Yahoo and use Firefox. Firefox can be fast but most of the time it take 30+ seconds to open any page/link....? I have both Safari and Firefox set up in the Dock. What am I missing....? Thanks, Bill

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Firefox very slow and Thunderbird not responding with new HP laptop.
I recently purchased a new HP laptop with Windows 8. I had been using Firefox and Thunderbird on both my old laptop and desktop with no problem. However, since trying to use both on my new machine, Firefox has slowed down to the point of making it impractical to use. And whenever I log into Thunderbird, it takes at least 10 minutes and more before Thunderbird becomes responsive.

MacBook Pro gets very slow when Safari is opened
When I open Safari, my computer gets very slow.
If I quit Safari, everything works fine.
How can I re-install Safari?

Firefox very slow and repeatedly hangs after upgrading to 7.0
I upgraded to Firefox 7.0 this morning. Since updating, Firefox is running excruciatingly slow. When trying to load webpages in new or existing tabs Firefox will hang indefinitely, and I need to restart Firefox to get it working again.
I have tried clearing cookies and cache, and starting Firefox in safemode with all add-ons and plug-ins disabled, but neither have helped the problem.
Running Windows 7 64 bit, 4GB RAMI may have found a solution to this problem [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2321783 here] (well, at least Firefox has been working again for the last few hours, not sure if it will prove to be a long term solution or not).
As it says in the linked article, type '''about:config''' into the address bar, find '''network.http.max-connections''' and change its value from 256 to 48.
I have absolutely no idea why this works but it seems to. According to my resource monitor Firefox still seems to be using a ridiculous amount of memory and disk, and my cpu fan is still going crazy, but at least websites are loading again!

Why is Illustrator very slow and locks up when I select an image?
When selecting an image with the links panel open Illustrator locks up for a good 20 seconds... When I close the links panel everything is fine.
This is very annoying since I use the links panel all the time in my daily work routine.
Anyone else encountered this problem?Ok a little strange, as mine is now running well after the updates from a few days ago.
Apologies if this is a false positive, but I can now have the LINKS panel open while highlighting on a linked PSD. I will run a few more tests to see if the error appears in any other ways.
I completely agree that Illustrator CC in particular does suffer from lagging across the board. I have never seen CC or CC2014 running as smoothly as say CS6.
I use Universal Type Server and the lagging caused by this (especially when backspacing text) has caused me no end of problems, but they slowly release updates and the problems slowly get ironed out.
Also I know this has been said before, but I had issues with the Verdana and Tahoma fonts and this slowed Illustrator (esp CC 2014) down also. I had the fonts installed but they were causing issues.
I searched over the web and at my work for alternative versions of these fonts and collected (what we think to be) a reliable pack of these two fonts that we can now use on machines in case they have similar lagging issues. So try getting hold of alternative copies of Verdana and Tahoma...fonts can corrupt very easily! -
Firefox is very slow to respond when opening and nearly always stops responding altogether, even refusing to react to the Task Manager "End Program" command. The "not responding" error message also comes up during navigation on line. Several attempt have to be made to get on line. A loss of stability seems to be endemic at the moment.

On my macbook pro I have a message on my homepage telling me that certain items want to use my keychain. I've pressed cancel the message will not go. The mac is now running very slow and iphoto and safari are not working. Can anyone help?

My Final Cut X changed behaviour after conneting the external monitor via HDMI. Several times after restarting Final Cut X was very slow and it always kept repeating rendering on same three clips after every restart. Later the dual screen icon disapeared on the top of my screen and it stops rendering on every restart like before and the machine was normal and faster. Now Final Cut won't start anymore whenever I start it loads and crushes immediately on every restart.

If that magnet was strong enough, it may have damaged your hard drive. You'll have to bring it in and see if you can get it repaired/replaced.

i have a mac 15" non retina and i didn't upgrade it to mavericks .. when i run photoshop my pc becomes very slow and i don't know why!! the performance on photoshop is up to 70% so i think is good .. what is the problem?
All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.
