Why is flash player installation not recognized?
I have been trying for about a week to view items on the internet which require flash player- i get a message that i need to install adobe flash player. So i have gone through the steps to download flash player and google chrome on adobe site. installation completes and messages that is sucessful! i return to the site(s) to view video and i get the same message. when i check the installed programs in control panel adobe flash player 11 active X is on list. Does anyone know what can be the cause of this??

I have thee Mac computers with Mac OS 10.6.8, one of which is a Mac Pro. No matter how many updates I install from Adobe, their Flash Player does not work on any of these 3 computers. I don't know how to contact Adobe Systems about this problem, but I think it is their responsibility to make sure that their so-called "universal" software works proplerly on a relatively recent operating system like OS 10.6.8 that is still in widespread use. When you install the updates, nothing happens -- not even an error message. What is the point of a universal player that is not universal? It works fine on my MacBook Pro with OS 9 Mavericks, but it does not work at all -- indeed, has never worked -- on my 3 Macs with OS 10.6.8. Has anyone contacted Adobe Systems to find out why the Flash Player does not work with OS 10.6.8 and what they plan to do about it?

Get the appropriate dmg installer here and then run it.

If it still won't install, do these two things: First uninstall any Flash by going into the second level Hard Drive Library>Internet Plug-ins, and trash the Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt. Then boot into Safe Boot, Shift at the startup chime (give it much longer than a usual boot) and run the installer while booted in Safe Boot. -

Adobe Flash Player Installer not doing anything?
This seems different from the problems other people have had on these forums with flash. My current flash works, but when I try to install the latest version and open Adobe Flash Player Installer, all I see is a grey rectangle, just a blank window with no buttons or text. When I close out of this window, I'm taken to a page on Adobe's website with the following message:

I followed both links, which had some basic info asking if I'd quit all my browsers before the install (I had), or if I'd allowed plugins in Safari preferences (also yes). I go back and try to install again and the same thing happens, endlessly. It is the same on all of my browsers (Safari, Chrome, and Firefox), and I have rebooted several times to no avail.Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

Adobe Flash Player Installer Not Responding
I had to factory reset my computer and now it is not letting me instal Flash Player. I have gone through to make sure I downloaded all of the updates on the computer figuring that might have been the issue. I have reset the computer to make sure the updates are complete but still not getting any resolution.
I am using firefox and the download works but when I get to the installer it stops working and I have to use task manger to get it to stop. Help please?Try this:

Flash Player Installer (not installing)
Could have sworn that I had and was using Flash Player before. Now no sign of it on my system. However, when I try to install (and stop Internet Explorer via task manager) I get one of two messages. The first is "Installation complete" , but this is linked to "failed to launch application". The second or alternative message is that FLash Player installed successfully. In the latter case however, it still does not work and when I then thereafter look for the program I cannot find it on my system. when browsing e.g. You Tube, I thus cannot open any video and instead get the message to install Adobe Flash PLayer. Very Frustrating. PLease help. Louis
Download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller and installer directly by right clicking the following links and selecting "Save target as".

Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove Flash Player completely.
Then run the installer to replace the Flash Player ActiveX Plugin for IE.

Why is Flash player installation installing Google Chrome and a Google add on?
Perhaps I didn't see that some other items were checked before I clicked the install button for new Flash player plugin, but I'm very annoyed that it started installing Chrome and another Google add-on without asking me. I as able to quickly cancel the installation before they were installed. What's up with this? If I wanted Google products installed, I'll go to to Google's website and install them. I don't need Adobe sneaking extra stuff in.

What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue? Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC? Have you tried a different USB cable?

Why is flash player still not working (please fix it adobe)
I have installed, uninstalled downloaded other things that have been suggested and this has been going on for weeks now. It works then it doesnt and I start the whole process again. Please fix this adobe, these are not isolated instances, its a problem for a lot of people. HEEEELLLLLPPPP.
I had a similar experience, when the alerts telling me to upgrade flash
(from Youtube, and which I had already done) I added a widget to Firefox
called "Flash Video Resourced Downloader" and Poof, it began working
again, this stayed a week, and then three days ago, quit again, on all
machines.
Im having trouble with who to blame, as flash "seems" to be working on
all other sites, and validates on the test flash & Shockwave page just fine.
Of course, Youtube provides NO WAY to contact or complain, and if they
did, it's doubtful anyone would speak english anyways, and they'd prefer
us to thing Flash is the problem, when its some illiterate coder there
who's screwed it up. -
Flash player is not recognized even though we have the current version
upon clicking on a youtube url we get an error message stating that we need to install the current version of flash in order to play the url. We already have that install and when cut and pasting it into IE it works just fine.
IE uses a different version of Flash (ActiveX) than other browsers use. You need the Plugin version for Firefox.

I have tried everything I could thing of, find, and read on the internet to try to install Adobe Flash Player on my computer
I have Windows Vista- 32 bit, Home Premium edition
I have Adobe CS4 Master Collection
I have Windows Sidebar Pandora (which is why I needed to upgrade my Flash Player in the first place)
I had IE8, and as of last night got IE9 Beta (Just so frustrated I thought it would help).
I have Firefox (which Flash Player installed correctly there), Chrome and Opera (Have not tried the last 2 to install Flash Player)
I have tried all the Internet Option Settings: Custom and Medium Level
I have tried to install it with "Run as Admin", as well as logging on as the Administrator at the start up and trying to install it there.
I tried to manipulate the User Accounts as suggested on the Microsoft website link.
Shockwave is no where to be found to be enabled.
I have uninstalled, rebooted, re-installed so many times I'm surprised my machine still works.
I have downloaded the Adobe Download Manager, as well as try to manually download the program.
I've tried going through Adobe Labs.
Been to the Microsoft website over and over again trying to read up about Active X and how to registar it to work right.
Please help me, as I am at my wits end trying to figure out how to install Flash Player on to my machine. I need it for my Windows Sidebar gadgets to work right, otherwise I would change browsers for all my needs.

*Side note, When I hit my right mouse button, about 60% of the time, it tries to re-install Adobe Acrobat. Adobe told me it was something to do with a bug with my installation of my CS4 Master collection. I would have to uninstall it, remove the license key, and re install it again. I also have issues with my Illustrator license. Could these issues all be related to my Flash Player installation not working?

DON'T include the Install log. Copy and Paste the info prior to that. The Install log makes the thread way too long and I had to page to the bottom just to reply for the first time. I can't imagine doing that more than once.
Someone else may have different advice and that is fine, but this is my suggestion.

Why will Flash Player not work on my Macbook Air?
I downloaded Adobe Flash Player when i got my Macbook in Dec 2011, and until now it has worked fine. Today I downloaded Adobe Reader to view a PDF file, but I decided I preferred the Apple Preview, so I deleted the Adobe Reader off my system. I then tried to listen to a radio station online which requires Flash Player and it stated that I did not have the Flash Player on my laptop. I then tried to download Adobe Flash Player again to my laptop, and the download appeared to have worked but when I try to use websites like YouTube it asks for me to download Flash Player. Can you tell me why this is? And how to get Adobe Flash Player back on my Mac and for it to work again.
When I open Task Manager the only thing I see is "Tasks". I do not see the Processes tab. I have seen this in the past along with measures of other activity, but not anything now. I tried the Start/Search - nothing about Processes.
Once the Task Manager is running, select the Processes tab. On older Windows version you may need to click on the Process Name or Image Name header to sort the process names.
Now right-click on every process that the Flash Player installer needs to close (e.g. iexplore.exe), then select End Process. -
Why does flash player not work with facebook?
Why does flash player not work with fcebook? Whenever I wish to view a video, I get the message that i need to upgrade my flash player. Then no matter how often I download and install flash player I still get the message that I need to upgrade my flash player. When I go check which version I have, I always get the message that I have the most current one. I run Mozilla Firefox with Windows. I don't know anything else.
