Why is Flash Player still crashing?

I am updated on ALL that need to be updated from my browser (mozilla firefox) to add-ons to Adobe, etc.  Why then, when updated new version of Adobe (11.4.402.287) did the crashes increase?  And in the last few days or so I can't even click video links (UTube or others) w/o it crashing & it got so bad a few times I actually had to shut comp off b/c the crash froze everything. HELP!

Firefox won't close and always a flashplayer logo in my taskbar - have LATEST everything.  Sick of your buggy buggy software, Adobe!!!  Since the 1990's been dealing with your arrogant programming strategy of ignoring other software and letting the users just "deal with it".  I mourn for MacroMedia and hope for your demise as a company!!
next stop, TWITTER TWITTER TWITTER to bash Adobe!  power to the people!!!

  • Flash Player still crashing my sytem.

    I’m using Windows Vista 64-bit, FF 15.0.1, IE 9, Flash player 11.4.402.265, Flash player 11 active X.
The computer still crashes when using flash player after following the instructions on http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html
I have done everything that it says and nothing!  I have even done the installing/uninstalling with uninstall_flash_player.exe.  I need a solution now, please.
    Loly

Your right Ortho_Fan; dust is a stealthly destroyer of computer equipment and it is always good to do physical routine maintenance. I wouldn't blame techies, I myself am a programmer . I think it is more a problem coming from the marketing department. I've programmed in Flash and adored using it (made pretty good money too). I was very disappointed when Apple started attacking Flash and Adobe (especially since it was Abode's products that kept Apple alive in the early years). But, this year, it seems like somebody in Adobe is intentionally sabotaging Flash.
A lot of people use the internet to view videos (cute cats, training seminars and so much more). I am so disappointed; it has become such a chore to keep watching both the video and my computers temperature and every few seconds (or minutes at the most), pausing it so my computer won't overheat and shutdown. They keep coming out with crash causing releases and blame it on everyone else. They really need to own up to these problems and fix them.
I can't imagine why any company would allow outside developers affect their software in a way that damages users computers. It's suicide and I think it will hasten the downfall of Flash. So sad .

  • Why is flash player is crashing?

My flash player has been crashing for about 3h weeks now; this player worked fine for 2 years and now not. When I check the latest version, it's the latest, so why is this a problem?

  • Why is Flash Player still awful at interacting with Firefox?

If I try to watch a 60fps video through flash player on Firefox I can't get the 60fps I'll get something like 30-40. If I try to watch multiple videos that use flash player, flash player crashes.
I don't have this problem with other browsers.
    I have GTX 580 and an i7 2600k.

hello, it might be an issue with the protected mode that [http://blogs.adobe.com/asset/2012/06/inside-flash-player-protected-mode-for-firefox.html adobe has introduced] for its flash plugin for firefox. you could try if [http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071#TemporaryWorkaround disabling protected mode] makes a difference.
in case you'd like to troubleshoot the issue further, it would be best to contact adobe's support & file a bug report at bugbase.adobe.com (choose "Adobe Flash Player" as the product & "Browser Integration" as the product area), since they will have a better understanding of the internals of flash protected mode & therefore may know what else might be at the root of the problem you were seeing.

  • Why is Flash Player Download Crashing Safari?

I'm running Mavericks with the latest OS X v.10.9.5 update on my iMac.  Having some issues with a flickering at the top of my Safari v.7.1 Browser, so I opened it in safe mode.  I also noticed that you tube videos won't even play the whole video window either goes black or flickers.  Figured that I need to update Flash maybe?  Tried downloading the new Flash update but as soon as I click on it Safari crashes completely.  Ran the uninstall available on the Adobe troubleshooting v.13 page but when I try to download the "older" version of Flash, I get an error 404 Not Found.  I realize Adobe thinks they have a fix, but if the fix still crashes my browser, its not a fix.  Or should I reboot and see if a normal reboot will help me find something that works? -Mike

"When in doubt, reboot" is solid advice, and a great place to start.
There's no reason to go back to an older version.  Just download the latest from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
If Flash is still not working in Safari 7.1, it would be great if you could provide specifics on the model of Mac you're using.  It's probably specific to your model, as this is not generating a huge flood of complaints at the moment.  The information from Apple > About This Mac > More Info would be useful here.
As a temporary workaround, you might want to try a different browser, like Chrome or Firefox.

  • Why is flash player still not working (please fix it adobe)

I have installed, uninstalled downloaded other things that have been suggested and this has been going on for weeks now.  It works then it doesnt and I start the whole process again.  Please fix this adobe, these are not isolated instances, its a problem for a lot of people. HEEEELLLLLPPPP.

I had a similar experience, when the alerts telling me to upgrade flash
(from Youtube, and which I had already done) I added a widget to Firefox
called "Flash Video Resourced Downloader" and Poof, it began working
again, this stayed a week, and then three days ago, quit again, on all
    machines.
Im having trouble with who to blame, as flash "seems" to be working on
all other sites, and validates on the test flash & Shockwave page just fine.
Of course, Youtube provides NO WAY to contact or complain, and if they
did, it's doubtful anyone would speak english anyways, and they'd prefer
us to thing Flash is the problem, when its some illiterate coder there
    who's screwed it up.

  • Flash Player continually crashing.

When in Firefox trying to read Yahoo Flash crashes within a few seconds. Reset page, crashes again within a few seconds. Go to another page, crashes within a few seconds. Have to go through a "close" selection process each time. Vista home occurence report says " ShimEng.dll_unloaded" as cause. How to fix? Where is  this dll available, where to load it? No luck so far with Adobe advice. Fresh reload of Flash Player still crashes. Yahoo videos cannot be viewed, etc. Am an elderly dummy with PC's. need help in basic plain language please.
I suspect that the trouble initiated by trouble makers trying to load a bad Trojan by offering to "update Windows Drivers???" . Luckily Kaspersky stopped them. Any help very much appreciated. Roy.

Unfortunately, this isn't a Flash Player crash.  It's crashing down in the guts of your operating system.
When I see operating system files start getting corrupted on my own computer, I usually operate on the assumption that either my hard disk is on it's way out, or I have a malware infection.  Since you're talking about Trojans, I'm thinking there's a good chance that you're in the second camp.  If it's been a while since you've backed up your important data, I'd make that your first priority.  I wouldn't bother backing up the operating system and applications, but all of your photos and documents, etc.  USB memory sticks can also be infected with malware at the hardware level and can re-infect your computers, so I'd go with an external hard disk or something.
Once you've got your stuff backed up, I'd spend an evening reinstalling the operating system.  You haven't mentioned it specifically, but I'm thinking that you'e on Windows Vista.   If you're taking the time to reinstall the OS, I'd recommend thinking seriously about upgrading to Windows 7 as part of that process.  The Win7 upgrade is less than $100 on Amazon.  The vast majority of Windows users are on Win7 at this point (Vista is < 10% last time I checked), so much more effort goes into making sure that software works well on Win7.

  • Why does Adobe Flash Player keep crashing and then apparently uninstalling itself?

why does Adobe Flash Player keep crashing and then apparently uninstalling itself? Is this not clear enough?

From System Preferences > Preference Pane click on FlashPlayer > Storage and see what you have selected for options.

  • My adobe flash player keeps crashing. Why?

I use Mozilla Firefox exclusively as my browser. When I am connected to Facebook and playing their casino games, the Adobe Flash player keeps randomly crashing. When it crashes, it locks up the computer and I have to shut down and reopen the browser. Recently, an information box has been opening up in the upper left corner of the screen called the Adobe Flash Player action box or something like that. The context is filled with lots of computer jargon I don't understand. At the bottom of the box there are 2 options to pick from, either dismiss or continue. Most of the time the screen freezes up before I've had the chance to pick one. After I go to the Windows task manager and shut down the boxes that were open, I get the normal gray "Adobe Flash Player has crashed" screen. The really odd thing is that there is no prompt allowing me to send a crash report to Mozilla. I have uninstalled and completely reinstalled the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. Just in case these might be a problem, I have the following 3 "add-ons" loaded in to the browser: Quick Time Plug-in 7.7.6 7.7.6.0, Shockwave Flash 16.0.0.305, and Shockwave for Director 12.1.7.157. As well, in case they might be the problem, I have the following 2 programs installed into my computer are: Adobe Flash Player 16 NPAPI and Adobe Shockwave Player 12.1. FYI: I am running Windows 8.1 64 bit. Hopefully I have given you enough information to make an assessment. If you need anything from me, please let me know. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

  • Why does my flash player always crash with Firefox?

Flash player always crashes and slows my browsing. Firefox is updated and so is flash player yet never works.

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
*check for updates for your graphics drive drivers<br>https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

  • Flash Player Constantly Crashing w/ FireFox?!

I've been having a problem playing media on my computer.  Online, instead of playing the music or video (like on youtube or something), it would freeze up firefox for a few minutes then say that my flash player has crashed.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, even installing an older version, but nothing works.  The strangest part is, I can't even play music or video files that are saved on my computer!  I'm thinking it's connected, though I have no idea why.  Please, if anyone knows how to fix this, I'd really appreciate the help.

I have had the same problem for some time. Not only with Firefox, but with Internet Explorer (7 and 8) and Google Chrome. I am running a Windows 7 Home edition (version 6.1 build 7600) 64 bit O/S, and have read through multiple forums where the web browser is being criticised (unfairly?), and have tried all solutions offered there and here. I have uninstalled and re-installed the adobe flash/shockwave flash at least a dozen times, I have disabled all add-ons to try to isolate if this was a problem, and the flash player wouldnt work at all, but as soon as I enabled the Adobe Actve X the problem began again, so it is not another add-on causing the issue. I have disabled the hardware acceleration. Still a problem.
I am running version 10,1,102,64 of Adobe Flash Player
    Firefox version 3.6.12
    Internet Explorer version 8.0.7600.16385
    Google Chrome version 7.0.517.41
I use Windows updater so I am assuming that all Service packs, drivers etc are up to date.
    I use Avast Antivirus
Any help to solve this ongoing very frustrating problem would be much appreciated. It used to be that after un-installing and re-installing Flash it worked for a few weeks before constantly crashing, this last time it is crashing immediately, hence I am posting here.

  • Has anyone been able to contact Adobe to learn why their Flash Player does not work on Mac OS 10.6.8, no matter how many updates you install?  This seems like a big error by Adobe.

I have thee Mac computers with Mac OS 10.6.8, one of which is a Mac Pro.  No matter how many updates I install from Adobe, their Flash Player does not work on any of these 3 computers.  I don't know how to contact Adobe Systems about this problem, but I think it is their responsibility to make sure that their so-called "universal" software works proplerly on a relatively recent operating system like OS 10.6.8 that is still in widespread use.  When you install the updates, nothing happens -- not even an error message.  What is the point of a universal player that is not universal?  It works fine on my MacBook Pro with OS 9 Mavericks, but it does not work at all -- indeed, has never worked -- on my 3 Macs with OS 10.6.8.  Has anyone contacted Adobe Systems to find out why the Flash Player does not work with OS 10.6.8 and what they plan to do about it?

Where are you getting Flash from?
Get the appropriate dmg installer here and then run it.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
If it still won't install, do these two things: First uninstall any Flash by going into the second level Hard Drive Library>Internet Plug-ins, and trash the Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt. Then boot into Safe Boot, Shift at the startup chime (give it much longer than a usual boot) and run the installer while booted in Safe Boot.

  • Adobe Flash player keeps crashing, but it's up to date on my computer. So is Firefox. Help?

For some reason, starting today, every page I visit on Firefox (no matter what) comes up with a notification that the Adobe Flash Player plugin has crashed. It started when I was trying to attach a word document to an email to one of my professors on my Google-supported school email account. Every time I tried to attach the document, Flash Player crashed and it wouldn't upload. I finally had to send it using my Live email, which worked, but now Flash Player crashes on every webpage I visit in about 2 seconds. My Flash Player is up to date, as is my version of Firefox. What's going on here? (Note: None of the information of the "Adobe Flash Player has crashed" page was helpful at all.)

Yes, this has been a problem for a lot of people. ADOBE just released Flash Player 11.0.1.152, and that seems to have fixed the problem. It still am finding it a bit laggy to load Flash scripts, but it no longer displays the crashed window.
You can download the file from the official Flash website here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

  • Why does flash player not work with facebook?

Why does flash player not work with fcebook?  Whenever I wish to view a video, I get the message that i need to upgrade my flash player. Then no matter how often I download and install flash player I still get the message that I need to upgrade my flash player.  When I go check which version I have, I always get the message that I have the most current one.  I run Mozilla Firefox with Windows.  I don't know anything else.

This means you don't have the latest version installed.  Update to 11.9.900.117, and Firefox will allow it: Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)

  • Adobe Flash Player Update crash

"Adobe Flash Player Update Service 11.3 r300 has encountered a problem ..."
I'm trying to answer this question, but don't know how to do it. So I'm starting new discussion.
I’ve had this problem for over a month and have reinstalled adobe flash player multiple times.
But now, I think I finally have the answer.
My tech downloaded the adobe flash player “installer” today.
But I think the key is to
    1) start / run,
    2) enter “services.msc,
    3) go to adobe flash player update services
    4) right click to get to properties
    5) change startup type to ‘Automatic” and service status to “Stopped”.

I stumbled upon something that worked although I don't know why the two items are related. I was resetting FireFox in another attempt to get the latest Flash player to work and noticed that my Java Console was disabled. I don't remember ever disabling it but I turned it back on and suddenly, the Flash player stopped crashing.
Maybe this will help someone else.
