Why is Gmail asking me to Disable advanced security so I can use Thunderbird?

I could not add a new Gmail account to Thunderbird until I disabled advanced security. How do I get this advanced security back? And, do my older Gmail accounts not have this advanced security for now?

Google changed their settings for Mail clients, you must Enabled the "Less secure apps"

Two step verification and application specific passwords:
The Google Account help advocates using two step authentication. That sends a code (a minimum of once a month but ideally every time you log in) to your cell phone that you need to enter when logging in using a browser.
However applications such as email clients can't do that.
If you configure two step verification you need to create an application specific password for Thunderbird that you use instead of the normal password. The application specific password doesn't change when a new code is sent to your cell phone.

Your CVV code is asked for whenever the Terms & Conditions for the iTunes Store have changed, or if you access the iTunes Store from a new device, This prompt does not indicate any actual charges.
Yes it is okay to enter your CVV code on free apps, as well as any apps from the iTunes Store as you are giving your CVV code to APPLE itself, and not to the app developer.

The iCloud password isn't saved anywhere on your device, this is the way it's supposed to work.

Depending on why it's been disabled you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
Or you might need to contact Apple : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
If it then works on your computer's iTunes but not your phone/iPad then try logging out of your account on the phone/iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it

The disk drive in my ibook g3 is broken, is it possible to disable the drive so i can use an external superdrive instead?

the disk drive doesn't load up what ever is put into it and i am unable to fix it or replace it
when i plug in a superdrive into the usb port it won't work because the disk drive still takes precedence
is there any way to disable the drive so i can use my superdrive instead?

For removal or replacement you can see how to do it with an iFixIt manual. Go to the link nd pick your model then look up optical drive.

Why is iTunes asking to locate the original file if I'm using Match?

I have two locations for my audio files: my laptop and an external harddrive. With my external hd plugged in, I ran iTunes Match, so my songs are listed as Purchased, Matched, or Uploaded. But, iTunes won't play any songs where the original files are on the external hd. I thought the point of Match was so you didn't have to have all your music on your computer.

With iTunes Match enabled the location of the music library is not changed to the cloud. The local files stay exactly where they were, and iTunes keeps looking for the files to play. If the external HDD is unplugged of course iTunes can't find the file to play it.
If you want to stream the best practice is to create a new, empty iTunes library and enable iTM on that library. To create a new library launch iTunes while holding down the Option key then select "create new library." Do not have iTunes scan for media. Enable iTM and you will now be able to stream.

How do I stop calendar from coming on automatically and overiding gmail so that I cannot access it. I can use windows explorer and this does not happen.

When I use firefox to access my gmail account, the calendar comes on by itself and I then cannot get to my emails. If I get the gmail account by windows explorer this does not happen. What can I do within firefox to stop this from happening. It just started this today.

You need to arrange that with the carrier since they are the ones that disabled it.

Account disabled for security reasons - what about the music I purchased ?

Hello to you all Apple/Mac lovers ,
I have a problem : my iTunes/Apple ID was disabled for "security reasons". That I suppose I can understand - although I can't figure out what danger I represent for Apple and iTunes.
The problem though is that I purchased some music on the iTunes Store and now I need to re-enter my account ID and password to listen to it - but since the account was deleted the iTunes Store accept or recognize the ID/password combination and it tells me why : "This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons.". This is how I first learned my account had been disabled.
How can I listen to my music now ? Thanks in advance for your advice !

Yes I got it to work your link was the right one. Here's how it works : the security reason was that I or someone else tried to use my account and entered a wrong password 5 times or 10 times in a row. That's why my account was blocked. So all I - or anyone - has to do is to ask for a new password using Apple's password recovery tool, iForgot. There was on link on that page you sent me, or on one of the help and FAQ pages it linked to, so that's how I got there and that's how I did it. Thanks a lot !!

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Open System Preferences > Netwwork then click Advanced then select the Wi-Fi tab.
Under Preferred Networks, if you see more than one network name listed, click and drag yours to the top then click OK.
Quit and relaunch Safari.
