  • Address Book is Not Working

    Suddenly Address Book is not working.  I can type addresses into Mail, but if I try to click on names directly from Address Book, nothing happens.  It has been working fine until today.  Contacts is fine; all addresses are there, but I wanted to enter several people from Address Book and nothing prints.  How can I fix it?  I have an Imac with Mountain Lion.

    It is a Maverick bug and there is a lot of discussion on it in the Mavericks section.

  • Google Address Book sync

    We are brand new to Mac...iMac. I read somewhere in some of these forums that there was an option to sync my Google Address book with the iMac address book. I read that there was a check box to do this under Address Book Preferences, but the only check box I see is MobilMe, Exchange and Yahoo. Looks like the version I'm using is 4.1.1 (699). Was this an older option no longer available? Appreciate any help and time.

    Hi Randy,
    Is your system completely up to date? Google address book syncing was introduced with the 10.5.3 update of OS X. If you go to the Apple menu and select "About This Mac," you can see what your computer is at. To make everything current, run "Software Update" in the Apple menu.

  • ICloud address book is not working on my laptop

    I noticed that address book does not have any cards when I select "Groups". It is working fine on my phone, iPad, and iCloud but not on my laptop. I noticed that on my Macbook Pro all the group are listed as "On my Mac" as opposed to iCloud. Is this a clue to solving the problem? Thanks for your help.

    As an update, I noticed that my MacBook Pro Address Book says, "On my Mac" when I look at Groups. Is there a way to have it show what's on iCloud? Thanks for your help.

  • Address Book Synchronizer not working

    Hi Im running CM 4.2 and the address book synch dosent work i exported all my contacts to my WAB and its giving me a password error saying unable to login with the configured password. im using the same UN and PW that i use on the CCM user page.
    Any help would be great.

  • Address book sync not correct

    I sync my address book with both my . me account and via itunes with my iphone, also it appears in my bento and my bento on my iphone.
    all worked well till bento 3 (not sure this caused it, but timing is same as problem)
    now it does not sync anymore only an older version of the file will come back in the sync on both iphone address book, bento and .me, stange enough on my imac in both address book and bento the latest file shows.
    reinstalling snow leopard, repairing permissions does not help, forcing sync to both iphone and .me by overwriting does not work, the older file remains .
    i am lost in this puzzle, any idea's?

    For a start you are in the wrong forum, this is a 10.5 Leopard forum not a 10.6 SL forum. You would be better posting in the iPhone Mail, Contacts and Calendar forum or the SL Mail and Address Book forum

  • GW 7.0.4 - NO Address book & autocomplete not working

    Hi, I'm trying to figure out why when I install GroupWise 7.0.4 on a Windows 7 x64 Ent SP1 with ZENworks 11 it installs correctly but the user doesn't have access to any address book. By the way I already know and understand that GW 7.0.4 is not supported on Windows 7. That said here's what I tried so far.
    1- Install MS Office 2007, GroupWise 7.0.4, Novell Client 2 SP1 IR8, etc. on Windows 7 x64 Ent SP1 also installed by hand with the DVD. The address book works correctly.
    2- Multiple tests by installing by hand or with ZCM 11 on Windows 7 x64 Ent SP1 which is also installed by hand with the DVD. The address book works correctly.
    3- Imaging a pc with a new image with our ZCM 11 and deploying MS Office, GroupWise 7.0.4, etc. using ZENworks. Then the address book is totally empty and we can't create, open an existing one, etc. address book.
    When installing, using ZENworks, GroupWise I let the default MSI properties that ZENworks offers in place and I'm installing as System. Finally, I use groupwise.mst that I created using the GWTuner utility found in the "GroupWise 7 Admin/Client SP1 Multi-lan".

    I know this probably will not help but I have installed, and have working,
    Groupwise 7.0.4 on 32bit and 64bit flavours of Windows7 - we do not run any
    Novell clients/Zenworks agents. We used to run Zenworks years ago and seemed
    to experience a lot of problems with it, although I am sure others will say
    the opposite.
    Basic troubleshooting but have you tried installing the Groupwise client on
    a non-Zenworked up PC - to at least try and determine if that is causing the
    problem?

  • Why does the address/status bar not work?

    After updating to 9.0.1, my status bar will not work, or my address bar. If I try to type in anything and press enter into the address bar, nothing happens. Also, I cannot press forward or back as they always remain grayed out. The only way I can get to a website is by pressing home, which is thankfully google. I have to google the url to go to it.
    Remembering now actually, I copied all the folders from the main firefox folder and pasted them into a new install of firefox (I had this problem actually before firefox updated). I was hoping that copying these folders would save my addons and etc. after I downloaded a new firefox and re-installed it. I put the folders back and firefox is still messed up :/
    I just want it to work more Q_Q

    That issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

  • Adding Faces to Address Book Contacts-Not working!

    I tried adding some faces to my Address book's contacts, but the "Face" icon, that is supposed to link you to your iPhoto Library does not work.  It is dimmed.
    And choosing my iPhoto Library instead, in hopes of being able to access my photos with faces, does not get around this problem.
    Anyone know of a fix?

    I placed this question up here almost two years ago, and the problem has since resolved itself.  I think because I have upgraded my mac's operating system (OS) several times since then.
    You might want to check and see if you're using the latest version of Mac OS X (currently 10.8.4).  If you're not up-to-date, go into the App Store on your Mac and see if there is an OS update waiting for you.  That might help.

  • Field links in Address Book do not work

    "A left click in the field of Address Book opens a contextual menu" does not work. All the fields in my Address Book are light gray, and however I click do, not yield any menu. I know they did a while ago, but did not record with what update this feature became disabled. Any explanation and solution? Thank you!

  • Add to address book function NOT working.

    For some reason the "add to address book" function in mail is not working. I option click an address in a received email, select add to address book - then go into my address book and it's not been added. Also when in Mail and I type in an address for an email that I've recently sent it NORMALLY autofills the address in. This is not working either. WTH?

    I'm having the same problem running OS 10.6.6, Mail 4.4 (1082), and Address Book 5.0.3 (875).
    When I click the drop-down for an email address in Mail or ctrl-click the email address and choose "Add to Address Book", the address in Mail changes to just the user's name (the address disappears) so that it looks like the address has been added to Address Book. But the address has NOT actually been added. If I then try to "Open in Address Book", Address Book launches but the address displayed is the last address I had open, not the one I supposedly just added.
    I haven't rebuilt permissions, but I applied "Read & Write" to all contents of my Applications folder as me, i.e. using my username.
    More than a little bit frustrating!
    The header for this topic says "This question is not answered. "Helpful" answers available: 2 . "Solved" answers available: 1 .", but I ain't seein' either a helpful or a solved answer. Are they here and I'm just not seein' 'em?

  • My address book is not working, it is slow and won't open the files, any suggestions?

    I am using airmail2 and trying to use it with my address book but it is not working, actually I can't work with my address book properly, somehow it is not working anyway.

    Did you try to set it up "as new device" without using the backup afterwards? How to set up your iPhone or iPod touch as a new device
    If this does not work, get it serviced or visit your next Apple Store.

  • Mail + Address Book - groups not working

    I'm able to create groups just fine in Address book.
    However when it comes to using them in Mail, they won't work:
    I type the first couple of characters and Mail offers to auto-complete,
    so it does know about them. When I hit return at that point *nothing*
    appears in the address field, it just stays blank.
    Any ideas what's going on here and how to fix it?

    Hi jwabbit, I was interested in your reply since it sounded easy to implement. However, my issue is similar but is not fixed with your solution.
    I have created a group in Mail. It displays fine and when I type the first few letters of the name in the "To" box of a new blank email, the name of the group pops up. However, when I press return it only adds the first 2 names out of 8 in the group.
    I have checked that all the names are ones that I have used regularly for some weeks, so they are real emails.
    The other thing I tried was to have both Mail and Contacts open at the same time, then selected all the names in the group and tried dragging and dropping over the To box in Mail. However, again it simply adds the first 2 names and ignores the others.
    Each of the other 6 names add fine individually, but that defeats the point of setting up the group!
    Any thoughts?

  • Address Book Autofill not working

    In OS 10.3.9 while editting the address book it auto-filled based on previous entries (e.g. Country or City name, etc). Since upgrading to 10.4.7 (and 10.4.6 for that matter) this useful feature is gone. I have looked in Preferences to see if I can turn it on, but no luck.
    Any tips?

    since many people complained about the way auto-complete worked in 10.3.x (that it was always auto-completing as soon as you typed), its behaviour was changed in 10.4 - you will now have to explicitly trigger the auto-completion by pressing "F5" (which by the way also works in many other applications like Mail, Safari, ...)

  • Address Book Archive not working

    I am trying to move my Address Book from my G4 to my MacBook Pro (both running 10.5.8). The archive creates, I move it over on a USB stick, and then use import/address book archive. It gives me a popup saying that reverting to the archive will wipe out my existing addresses, I respond OK and then nothing happens. The Address Book shows that I still have the original 21 cards, only one shows up. Nothing else happens.
    When I close Address Book and then reopen it, it shows the same initial 21 cards.
    I've tried this several times, with new archive files.

    The archive works, the unarchive doesn't.
    To get around this, right-click on the archive and choose "Show Package Contents." Replace everything in your username/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/ folder with the contents of the archive package.
