Why is iCloud content different on iPhone than my Mac?

How come music videos and TV shows and movies available in iCloud on my iPhone don't show up on iCloud on my mac?  Most of them do, but not all.  I can download and watch them on my phone, but I can't on my mac.  However, I can download other items in the cloud on my mac.
Thanks,  Dan

Thanks Gregory.  I actually should rephrase my question.  I have items showing in the cloud on my iPhone that I have tried to delete but won't go away.  I have swiped and hit red delete button, but they are still there months later in iCloud but only visible on my iPhone.  Some items like the music videos I can get to show back up on my mac in iTunes, but when I delete them and choose to delete them from iCloud as well, they are gone from my iMac iTunes account, but are still on my iPhone via iCloud.  I have read other posts and people have suggested going into Music and Video settings and choose not to show all music or videos.  Well, this option prevents me from seeing any music or videos I have in the cloud, so that doesn't help.  I just want to get rid of songs or videos or movies from the cloud that I no longer want any more and don't wish to see or listen to in the future.

  • ICloud ID is different on iPhone than iCloud Apple ID on computer

I just upgraded to iOS 7 and did not realize iCloud on my iPhone was under my old Apple ID and password. I'm attempting to sync the accounts but when I try to delete the iCloud account on my iPhone, as directed, it asks for my password (for the old account) that I do not remember.
I cannot reset it because when I go to my computer to reset, it only gives me the option to reset my NEW Apple ID which is my new iCloud account #.
I cannot find a way to reset from the phone.
Has anyone had this happen and did you find a fix?

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account.  You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then  on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

  • Why does iCal look different on iPad than on Macbook and iPhone?

Is there a way to get my calendar in my macbook and iPhone to have the same visual interface as the calendar on my iPad? Is there certain software I need to download? I just don't like the format of the iCal on my my computer and iPhone, and finally they have a good format but only for one of my products.

I have no answers for you on this one, but I agree. I enjoy the layout on my ipad, but it seems that iCal is falling behind in its formatting. With a new iLife out there, and OSX Lion out in the open, you'd think they could make the interface a whole lot better on MacBook if they are offering it on iPad.

  • Calendar colours are different in iPhone than what's on my iCal

Why is it that the colours that I assign in iCal on my computer is different than the colours I see for the same events on the Calendar in the iPhone?
Say, for example, I set an event for MISC for a whole day for today, and make it Red in my iCal - when I look at it in my iPhone, it's Orange. When I set it as Green, then it's Blue. When I set it to Black, it's Red. When it's Blue, it's Purple. And so on.
Is there something wrong with my iPhone, or is there a patch?
    Thank you

    "It's not a bug, it's a feature."
You can't easily fix this - only Apple can do so! They've released a kbase article with the explanation excuse that it is normal for the calendar colors not to match.
There is a workaround, although it is something of a pain. The iPhone will apply calendar colors in the following order: red, orange, blue, green, purple. (If you only sync one calendar, it's blue).
Depending on the colors you want, you first need to create 'blank' calendars in iCal to 'use up' unwanted colors. Then, you need to sync the calendars, one at a time, in color order.
Go to the Info tab (in iTunes with the iPhone connected and selected in the devices list). With the Sync iCal calendars box checked, UNcheck all the boxes and sync. Then, check the box for the calendar you want to be red. Then sync (if you look on the iPhone at this point, that calender will be blue, since it's the only one). Then, check the box for the calendar you want to be orange, then sync. Repeat for blue, then green, then purple.
For example, if I want to have two calendars, Home colored blue and Work purple, I would create three new calendars - empty1, empty2, empty3 - then check the boxes in the following order, syncing between each: empty1, empty2, Home, empty3, Work.
You only need to do this once (as long as you don't delete the empty calendars in iCal) - after that, iTunes 'remembers' the colors and maintains them.
Also, you can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

  • Order of iTunes Playlists different on iPhone than Mac

Upon upgrading to iOS 5 a little while ago, I noticed that the alphabetization rules had changed for my Playlists on my iPhone, yet remained the same on my Mac. I have a number of playlists that would remain at the top of the list of Playlists (ie ".Essentials" or "_Recent Additions") because of the punctuation before them. iOS 5 changed the way they are ordered, so that Playlists are ordered by letter ("A"), number ("2"), and then punctuation ("_"), rather than the reverse. iTunes on my Mac still follows the original rules. Is there any way to change these rules? I know it's a nit-picky thing, but it drives me crazy to have to call the playlists I want at the top "AA--Recent Plays" in order to keep them up there. A simple ".Recent Plays" is much cleaner. I saw someone had this issue when they upgraded to iOS 3.0 a couple years ago, but got the wrong answer.  I had iOS 3 yet didn't have that problem. I don't know why Apple arbitrarily would change this but the fact that in iOS 4 this issue didn't exist gives me hope there may be a solution. So, Apple nit-pickers, can I change the alphebetization rules or will I suffer through playlists that start with double A's ("AA")? Please help!

It IS a NANO issue, and I think I have found a temporary solution. It works for me, anyway:
    1. You have your smart playlist that works in iTunes but gets messed up on the Nano... in this case let's call it "Recently Added."
    2. UN-check this from the Nano sync list. Do not delete the playlist, keep it in iTunes, but do NOT have it updated in the Nano.
    3. Make a new smart playlist. The one and only rule should be: Playlist - IS - Recently Added.
    4. Name this playlist something slightly different, such as "Recently Added for Nano."
    5. Have iTunes update the new smart playlist into the Nano.
This works for me as long as I don't have the original sync'd.

  • On my Mac, why do websites display differently with FireFox than Safari.

I have been using FireFox on my Mac and prefer it over Safari, BUT recently, some, not all, websites are not displaying correctly! When I use Safari all the content is there and the websites display as they are supposed to. (I tried to insert a screen shot but unable to do so) I have the most current FF version installed, unless FireFox is not happy with my older MAC OS ??

Thank you for the info!! Attached are a few screenshots to show the problem - I now know how to do a screen shot! thx.... anyway note on the Ancestry shot Safari shows a male or female head whereas Firefox show a simple symbol for male/female. I spoke with Ancestry and it is supposed to be the male/female head icons that are displayed. In the Yahoo shot Safair displays the icons and names for reply, delete etc but Firefox has some icon that only if you hover over it will it then display the name or what it is. this is very perplexing as I really prefer Firefox over Safari... any help will be appreciated! thank you

  • Email is different on iphone than computer

hey all, i am new to the iphone 3g and i have a hotmail account, when i delete an email from my iphone it doesnt delete it on my computer and vice versa, can someone please in lamens terms tell me how to fix this?

That is working exactly as it should. It's done that way on purpose on that type of email account. And you WANT it that way. THere will be times that you will not be able to read your email on your iPhone, and you will want a copy on your desktop. Similarly, there will be times you might want to keep an e-mail on your iPhone that you don't want on your desktop (especially if people e-mail you internet links down the road for your iPhone).
That's the way it's designed to work with POP accounts.

  • ICloud mail sync between iPhone 4S and Mac Book

I am new in the Apple world. I have a brand new Apple MacBook Pro right out of the box and an older iPhone 4S, using a Pop3 mail account (and for various reasons I do NOT want to change to IMAP, e.g. storage space issues on the server). I do not use Gmail or any other of these services, but use my own e-mail via my website provider. I download e-mails via POP3 onto various computers (but leaving e-mails on the server for a period of 4 weeks).
I can send and receive e-mails, no problem on my Mac nor my iPhone.
To sync between both (esp. with regard to sent mails) I have created an icloud account which works fine for synchronising my contacts, for example. But it does not in any way synchronise my e-mails between the devices or show any e-mails in icloud mail (in icloud or on in Mac mail) at all. The folder is there, it's just empty.
I changed over from Windows after being frustrated by performance issues (although I am starting to miss Outlook already). But in the Apple world I am already overwhelmed by the feeling that I do not have the slightest idea of how to set up things here...I am aware that I might not get the simplest basics, but I have no one to ask (since all friends are Microsofts-addicts).
I use three e-mails accounts (work and private) and now I am already stuck with getting to run one and sync it over the devices, let alone three.
    Thanks for any help!
    Stephanie

Apparently you must be very narrow minded. I don't want to develop an e-mail client from the scratch.
I would implement the sync the following way.
Assuming I use POP3 on both my iPhone and my MacBook. On my iPhone mail client I am downloading e-mails and reading them from time to time and replying. There is an ended set of what you actions you can do with your e-mails. Every e-mail has a unique ID / fingerprint - you can recognize it with 100% accuracy. I'm also downloading e-mails on my MacBook mac mail and performe the same ended set of actions on this e-mails. So the system architecture should be as follows:
    1. MacBook mail client queues all the actions I have performed with my e-mails on my MacBook.
    2. iPhone mail client does the same - creates a queues with actions I have performed on my iPhone.
    3. If I have the syncing turned on on both of my devices and I'm logged in on both of them with the same Apple ID both devices process the queues to my iCloud, compare it and update status of my e-mails according to the actions in each queue.
So I will rather wait until Apple will do this simple solution.

  • Icloud not syncing between iPhone, ipad and mac

    Hi all
Have numbers synced on my imac, ipad and iphone 4s.
This morning i done a lot of work on my iphone and now im home to work o the mac its nnot synced. Nor has the Ipad?
The imac has t2 documents that keep trying to load but when they get to completion they go back to start downloading.
Everything ive done on my iphone toad needs syncing to both ipad anfd mac. To much work to lose
    Please help anyone
Heres a screenshot of the mac trying to load

Go to the Apple menu >> system preferences >> icloud.  Make sure you're logged in with the same apple ID as you are on the other two devices.  If you're already signed in, you can click on Account details to verify that.
Then, make sure you have safari checked off in the icloud preferences.  If you already do, uncheck them for a minute or so.  Then recheck them.
    See if that helps.

  • ICloud sync between 2 iPhones and a mac

    Hi,
I have 2 iphone 4's (iOS 5) and a macbook (Lion) all under 1 iCloud account and 1 iTunes account.
Yet apps and songs I install/download on 1 iPhone don't show up on my other iPhone nor on my Macbook.
I'd expect them all to sync automatically with these downloads showing up in all devices simultaneously.
Do I have something wrong in my settings?
    Thanks
