Why is iCloud sending iCal invitations in German?

I am running Lion set to English and iCal set to English. iCloud is configured for English.
Why is iCloud sending iCal invitations in German???

I think I solved it. My Macbook was set to delete items after 60 days.  Grrrrr....

I am using iMac .When I send ical invitation, it shows a message that I need to open an account in Address Book.I already added my contact details in address book.why?what is the solution

    Ni Shameer,
In addition to the suggestions by MadisonP, open Address Book, find your card and make sure that you choose Card>Make This My Card.
If that is unsuccessful, delete and recreate your card, making sure to once again choose "Make This My Card."

    Greetings,
    Questions:
What happens when you put in an email address in an event? (Make sure the email address is also in your addressbook (Macintosh HD > Applications > Addressbook)
Are you using calendars that show up under "On My Mac" on the left hand side of iCal or are the calendars under a different heading?
    Troubleshooting:
Make sure that you can send / receive email in the Apple Mail program.
Make sure that the email address in Mail > Preferences > Accounts is also on your Addressbook card:Go to Addressbook > Card > Go to My Card -- The email address you are using to send receive messages on your computer should be on this card.
If that doesn't take care of it:
    1. First make an iCal backup:  Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
    2. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
    3. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
    4. Launch iCal and test.
    If the issue persists:
    1. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
    2. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
--- NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
    3. Launch iCal and test.
    Hope that helps!

  • Problems sending ical invites to gmail addresses?

Problems sending iCal invites to people with gmail. Is there a fix?
Many of the people I invite who have gmail, never get the invite even though they have an iPhone.

Has she looked in her junk folders? Has she made sure your address is in her contacts in Hotmail? Has she made sure your address is not blocked in Hotmail? The problem is obviously on her end as your emails are not getting through to her Hotmail account. Good luck.

  • How do I send iCal invites on OS 10.6

How do I send iCal invites on OS 10.6

Seems Apple is making things more difficult with every OS update. Back in the day you used to be able to organize your applications instead of having them all in one folder. You used to have a lot more freedom. More and more it is just easier to use a third party app. So I'm gonna install Thunderbird until Apple comes up with an easy way to fix the mail app. it seems that eveything in help says you just gotta reinstall the system from scratch. I would rather just use an open source product that I can put into any forlder I want without having to worry about it screwing itself up. Had similar experience with Safari now it seems like it is time to get rid of Mail.

  • How to send ical invites to outlook

When I send an ical invite to outlook user, some users ok to accept and others return mail.dat file attachement?

    1. I didn't replace my [email protected] login with my [email protected] email. I only changed my email information to my [email protected] email. I still login with [email protected]
    2. The me card in both my local address book and the addressbook on iCloud only contains my [email protected] email.
From what I've read in other threads, changing the apple id email means deleting my iCloud account and starting over with a new login email. Apple officially says that it's not possible. But others seem to have succeed with it.
Do you know of any other solution?

  • Sending iCal invites with Scripts

    Hello,
I have created an Applescript to open a website for an iCal event and invited my boss. However, when he receives the invite, he does not receive the script (nor does his iCal show an alarm if I have set one on my end either). Is there a way that iCal can automatically set the alarm for both myself and the invitee (in this case, my boss)? And, can I have the invite sent with the script attached? Without having to send a separate email, then going onto his computer and setting up the invite he has accepted?
In this example, I created an iCal event to open ebay at a certain time in order to bid on an item. I want him to have the script (or the event alarm) sent to him when I send him the iCal event invite. Hope this is clear.
    Thanks!

Is there a way that iCal can automatically set the alarm for both myself and the invitee?
No. The invitation does not include alarm details.
Can I have the invite sent with the script attached?
No. You have no control over the contents of the email sent to the attendees.
Why not just send him an email with the url at the appropriate time? You can use Andreas Amann's Mailscripts to schedule a message for delivery - and since now it is your message, if you really want the complexity you can send him an applescript attachment.

  • How to create My Card so that I can send ical invitations

    Hi,
Am trying to send out invitations on iMac OS X and get the response that I must set up a personal card in contacts first.
Ive done this, the advice from past support groups is to mark the card as 'My Card' however there is no option to do this.
By the way does it matter if My Card is on iCloud or iMac address book?
Finally, since synchronising my iPad with iMac and backing up to the iMac Ive lost the 'Invite' option on my iPad calendar.
    Any thoughts?
    Many thanks
    Denise

It is probably not possible to re-subscribe because FormsCentral is retiring soon.
We have created an import tool that can keep your questions and style to JotForm

  • Cant send iCal Invite to myself or alternate email address

I've been having a challenge creating an iCal event and sending an invitation to myself. What Im trying to do is add an appointment to my calendar on my personal Mac and have an invitation sent to my work email address so I can add the appointment to my work calendar also.
Apparently iCal will not let you send a invite to any of the email addresses in the "Me" address book entry.
I tried adding a new address book entry for just my work email address but that did not work either.
I had to REMOVE my work email address from the ME address book entry before the work address book entry would show up.

    Hi,
You can turn on text messaging notification in OWA to receive message notification, but the premise is that you can logon OWA. If you don't have access to OWA, you can create a transport rule to forward the messages you received to another user's mailbox,
and then set up his/her OWA to send text messages to your mobile device.
Hope my clarification can be helpful to you.

  • Is it possible to customise the email address used to send iCal invites?

    Hi,
I am trying to find out if it is possible to customise the email address used by iCal to send an invite.
i.e. each user would like their email address to be used rather than a generic one.
    Tks
    Ben

Sorry, that isn't possible. The email address is used as the account name. If you need to change it, a new account would need to be created.

  • Cannot send iCal invite

I tried to send an iCal invite but got an error message that said I need to create an address card for myself in OS X Address Book. However I already have an address card for "myself." How do I "tell" iCal that "I" already have an address card? There are no instructions for this.
    Thanks!

If you don't have your "me" contact darkened, in Address Book, select the contact you want to be "you", select the "Contact" menu, then select "Make This My Card"
    That should do you.

  • Send iCal Invite from Alternate Address?

My iCal invites in Lion keep sending from my .mac address (which I never use).  I want it to send from by 'send from' address, and I've changed that info in mail and iCal -- to no avail.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello all,
I sync Gmail account with iCal on my Mac, and with my iPhone and iPad. I can see all of my events on all of my devices without a problem, and can send calendar invites on everything but my iPad. Is there a way to add an event invitation option to my iPad's calendar application?
AFAIK MobileMe is the only way to send event invites. If you have a MobileMe mail account then a new 'feature' of iPad Calendar is activated which allows sending invites.
I don't know of any other way to do it.

  • How to send ical invites from another email address than the iCloud address

    Hi everyone,
I have set up my calendars in ical to work with icloud and everything is going great.
The problem i have is that when i invite someone to a meeting or reply to a meeting invite the invitation is send from my iCloud email address. Instead i want the invitation or reply to be send my business email account.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to select which account the invtiations are sent from?

  • Why am I seeing iCal invites to other peoples calendars after updating to Mavericks?

After my upgrade to Mavericks, using iCal 7, I am now seeing many invites that are to calendars I subscribe to (i.e. not my calendars) - even though these calendars are just being shared as "Public" and not ones that I should be able to edit.
Note: Clicking on Accept, etc on these invites does not accept the invite in other people's calendars.

After many months of talking with Apple Support, their engineers and multiple periods of the issue being escalated, Apple have now practically given up saying it's a bug (nice). There may be a clue where Calendar users who do not use an iCloud.com email address for their Apple ID may be initiating the error. With multiple users like this, it propagates through my Calendar into many invites to events that are nothing to do with me in the drop-down box from the top-left of the app (even though I get the correct number showing up next to my calendar title in the left-hand list).
Phhh... Exchange Server here I come, unless the next OSX fixes it (as it was all fine before Mavericks)
