Why is IOS 8 making decisions for me?

Today something came in to my mind, after having a few days with my iPhone 5 running with the new ios 8, and at first i thought it was just a thing of "new features " as they always do. But then it got me thinking and i came to realise that something is wrong with this world.
With all the technology advantages that we as normal people are used to live with, i'm thinking where is going my privacy? where is my choice to tell or not to tell anybody "what my location is".
I live in Mexico City, i know it's one of the more dangerous cities in the world, but to be realistic there's violence, and kidnappings, and extortion all over the world.
Now, it seems like "someone" wants us to always be available, always be transmitting our location. Why would i want this? Why is it a good idea to have my iphone/ipad GPS applications always transmitting my location EVEN if i have them running on the background?
And what is worst, if i go in to my System Preferences, to try to switch off this option and then i go back to my GPS app ( Google Maps / Apple Maps / Waze ) they just don't work.
I don't know what is wrong with the ios developers, but maybe people should start to protect themselves against all the vulnerability world we are living in nowadays.
Can anyone help me understand this?

Any app you have on the phone you have to give permission to use location services. Anything that is using it is because you gave it permission. If you do not want to take advantage of location services, then as WiseJD offered, you can turn location services off. However, you will not be able to use certain functions of the maps, as you have already learned.

I tap Write a Review, it asks for my password.
I write my review and submit, it asks for my password. And again. And again. And again.
Once before, and four times in a row to submit it. Why?
My passwords are generated for me, and I change them regularly, so sometimes I get them wrong while typing them in. This has been happening on iOS 6, and still on iOS 7. (This is the App Store app in iOS on an iPhone, just to be clear; not the Mac App Store or the iTunes Store on OS X. I haven't tried either of those, so I may or may not have the same problem there.)

Entered incorrectly?
Can go to Appleid.Apple.com and select Manage Apple ID - try to sign in, if you are unable to then what is being entered is incorrect.
Reset Password is the next option.
If you are able to sign in then first on your Computer in iTunes go to Store and Select Sign Out - Then Sign back in.
iOS device - Settings - iTunes & App Store - View Apple ID - Sign out / Sign in
That should work for you - however when downloading/purchasing Apps you will most always be prompted to sign in.

Something was being entered incorrectly, passwords do not effect OS's.

Why was iOS 5 released for iPhone 4 when the bugs were still so bad?

My music plays fine for a day or so, then all of the sudden iTunes shuts down, and the iPod will not work again until I reinstall iOS 5?

Randomly while playing music the iPod software shuts down. Then when I try to open it again I get a white screen and the program hangs, then closes. I've done the whole uncheck music then sync, then recheck music then sync, but that only temporarily fixes it.

You know, I am getting pretty damn p-ed off that (1) I cant fix this and (2) I looked online for a week now and haven't found an answer...
I have Windows 7 (64bit) and several Adobe Creative Suite programs including Premiere Pro (CS4). For the last, I dunno 10 YEARS with XP & Vista, I have never had a problem importing digital video. You plug the camera in, an auto-play menu comes up and asks me where I want to import the video to and I go to work. Never had a problem. Now I installed Windows 7, got all of my programs and files transferred over and I am ready to import some more video....
All of a sudden (1) Adobe Premiere decides to open up when I didn't ask it to and (2) I don't get the auto-play menu asking me where I want to import my video to. Um..... wtf? I have never imported videos to my computer THROUGH Premiere... I've always used to auto-play menu, it's faster, easier etc. So I go to the control panel and discover that Adobe Premiere is the designated option for importing Digital Video to my computer. I switch it to "always ask me first", aka: the auto-play menu I want, and SAVE IT as my preference. Easy fix, right? Wrong.
I plug in my camera and what do you know? F***in Adobe Premiere starts up again and the auto-play menu is nowhere in sight. I go back to the control panel and discover that, somehow, Adobe Premiere SWITCHED MY COMPUTER'S SETTINGS BACK TO WHAT ADOBE PREMIERE WANTED! Excuse me?!?!?!?!
Anyone know how to fix this?????

You cannot put folders inside folders. Newstand is technically a folder. Don't panic.

quite surprised it suggests that iPhone 3gs s more powerful than the iPad1? iphone 3gs is supported. something is fishy. i don't want to fall out of love with apple products. looks like it's a business decision to cut support for iPad 1 - not technical shortcoming. if apple cut support for 3gs they will upset customers who just bought 3gs before iphone 5 was launched.... tsk tsk tsk.. i'm not from US. hope to see a class action suit by US peeps to resolve this...

What you are thinking about is QA10, not QA40.
QA40's criteria for making the UD is based upon the order status. I.e. the three radio buttons in the screen, orders completed, technically complete and confirmed.
The idea is once one of these statuses is reached, you wouldn't have any more testing. Also, it is not unusual to have out of spec results during in-process testing. In many industries that would be the norm, not the exception as often times a step in the process has a test repeatedly perform until a certain result is achieved. % water or % solids for instance.
03 lots also do not control stock. So it's not as critical that tests be in spec at this point to perform the UD.

Apple would have to strip so many features out of iOS 7 to make it work on your iPod that about all you'd have would be iOS 6 with different icons. So as the others have said, this is not going to happen. If you want iOS 7, you'll need a newer iPod.

This app offered great features such as the ability to format your pictures and journal and, add comments and context.
It's disappointing to be forced to migrate away especially when this is a paid app ($4.99). Many other companies may stop supporting paid apps, but at least you can still use the apps.

The basic frameworks, that support image editing apps and any graphics apps have been completely replaced by newer frameworks, for example PhotoKit. Also, the Photos.app and its library are very different, with the Camera Roll being replaced by the "Recent Activity" album.
iPhoto used "Photos" to access all photos on the device and did not them separately. The code would have needed to be completely rewritten. Probably, Apple did not want to develop iPhoto a second time, in addition to the new "Photos", but is relying on the third party developers to supplement Photos with extensions:

Developers can enable their photo apps to edit photos directly in the Camera Roll without having to import them first.
Photo Editing
Developers can embed their filters and editing tools directly into the Photos app. So you could apply third‑party effects to images without leaving the app where you view your photos.

The apps are free with iOS 7 if you purchased a new device after September 2013. The apps do not come free just because you are running iOS 7 now. Did you purchase or receive a new iPad recently?
If you did, are you using the same Apple ID to get the apps that you used to activate the iPad? If you are, sign out of your ID, restart your iPad, sign in again and go back to the App Syore and see if the apps show up as free.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad and go back to the settings and sign in again.

Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on each device and make sure only the phone number for that device is checked.

There are plenty of apps still compatible with iOS 4.2.1. Not a majority, necessarily, but they're still out there. If the app you want requires a newer version, find another app the accomplishes the same thing.
Of course, it may be too late for that now, since you chose to hack/jailbreak your iPhone, and it is currently a brick. As varjak paw stated, this forum will not help you with your hacked phone.
