Why is it blank when i type and only when my move over what i have typed I can see the words in a violet bloc?
I cannot see the text I type on my newly installed pages 0.8. When I move with the cursor over the text I get a bloc in violet showing the text I just typed. But I only have a blank screen as I type, regards danny

I have Windows 7 and for some reason I cannot install Adobe Type Manager onto my Computer. I need ATM to install the DIN font but am having no luck what so ever. I can see the DIN font in my Dropbox but it is showing up like this:- ._DIN-bold, no file file extension. what am I doing wrong? is it Mac?
(1) Adobe Type Manager (ATM) is not compatible with any version of Windows beyond Windows XP (32-bit, only). Attempting to install ATM on any newer version of Windows may actually disable Window's capability of rendering Type 1 and OpenType CFF fonts, requiring a reinstallation of Windows.
(2) There is no need to use ATM to install any fonts under Windows.
(3) The file name ._DIN-bold is indicative of a MacOS font. These fonts cannot be installed on Windows systems.

I have problems with my films that become slightly jerky after I have imported
and edited them in iMovie and then burned them onto a DVD using iDVD.
I can see the weak jerkiness when panning in both laterally
and vertically.
I shoot with a camcorder Canon Vixia HF10. The camera has been set to deliver HD quality (1920x1080). But I have accidentally filmed with a frame rate of 60 (?).
When I import the films in iMovie I have been asked if I want to change to frame rate 30 (instead of 25). I have chosen 30.

Firefox will not show links to flv files. I get the error message for each flv file: "File not found. Firefox can't find the file at http:// (path) .flv." Any mov and swf files in this same path will show. I can see the videos in Safari so the paths are correct.
Is this a webpage that contains a link to a flv file? Please post a link to the page and tell us which link(s) are the problem flv files or else post a link to the .flv file itself.
Alternately, click on one of the sample FLV File links on this page and tell us exactly what happens:

Depending on how you have Firefox set up, clicking on a FLV File link will either save the FLV file to your computer or Firefox may open it automatically in an external application right after downloading (Firefox may ask you first). Firefox itself can't play FLV files so you need a "helper" application (or a plugin for flv files, if ther is one. You can see if Firefox is already set up to download or open FLV files by going to Firefox Preferences and looking in the Applications list. Find the FLV file type in the list and, if the action is "Open with", it should show the application that can play FLV files (e.g., VLC Media Player or Perian). The same thing happened to me. I purchased the Trilogy but it only downloaded the first movie.
Also i looked at my accounts "purchased items list" and it didn't show that i purchased anything.
When i went back to the store to look at the trilogy order page, it didn't say that i purchased it.
It just had the "buy" button.
I will wait a few days to see if i get an email from the iTunes store to see if Apple finds out that
they made a mistake. If i don't get an email, i will have to email iTunes support to see if it can
get this problem fixed. -
Has anyone else encountered this? I want to save a 2 colour logo (CMYK) as a print ready PDF but when it opens in Adobe Acrobat the black is missing or the green is missing. I can see all the colours there in preview and if I open the PDF file in Photoshop, all the colours as as they should be!!!
No.. sorry.. it does not seem possible effect .. if you can write you must be able to read..
Are you using the TC with user profiles?
What security are you using for disk access?
What happens if you do turn on full guest access to read and write.. ?
When the Mac that can save but cannot read does drop the file onto the TC,, can the other Mac's see that file? In other words is the file really there.. has it copied correctly. I still think if it has copied and you cannot read it back there is some permissions issues.
Try creating a new user on the Mac that has issues.. and see if the new user and read and write correctly. Make sure the new user has at least equal rights as the users on the Mac's that can read and write without issues.
Your intial question suggested this problem was spread over more than computer.. your second reply has reduced the issue to just one computer.. logically the issue is not the TC.. it is that computer. Ironically I have found logic for computer troubleshooting falls well behind voodoo. -

I have been playing duo and montotone images into indesing with no trouble. Then all of a sudden as I placew them they go black and whitre. I have tried everything from re saving, re making in photoshop and differant colours et5c. But nothing seems to wrok. The images already in my document arew fine it is just new ones. If someone could help that would be greatCan you start a new document and then load one of the duotones known to be good in the working file and have it correct? If so, try one of the duotones known to be bad in the working document in the new file. Does it work?
If no to either suggestion, can you share one of the images known to be good and one known to be bad? ZIP 'em up and upload to dropbox and plop a link here. Or, to keep the file sizes down, you can quickly make a new set and provide those.
As well, the ID version and OS info would probably be helpful.

Blue background when I type and typing not shown on google
Entry boxes turn blue when I type and when searching on google I can't see what I am typing at all. The subject line on Yahoo email turns blue but I can see what I am typing there.
Uninstalled Constant Guard. Was afraid I'd lose Norton Security Suite, too, but that remained. Blue box in Google problem went away. Can't say it's forever, but for now it's better.

Most videos on the internet are played using the Adobe Flash plugin.
Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash update and/or a malfunctioning browser plugin such as Real Player.

I don’t know why but I create a WEB site and my friends who use a pc windows, have a lot of trouble when they open my movies. The other friends who use Apple, they don’t have problem. I have iMovie11 and my extension file is .m4v. Is it because the extension .m4v is bad for windows ?
No web site expert here but I would suggest changing the .m4v to .mp4 and ask one of those friends if they still have problems. .m4v is something I always associate with iTunes and don't really see it used elsewhere.

When I open numbers, my spreadsheet appears blank. yet, when I moveacrossa row, data appears in the formula bar. How can I fix it so I can see the sheet?
I had the same issue for several days (and several reboots). During that time I found I could print the spread sheet as a pdf, though I couldn't see it except cell by cell.
Suddenly the problem disappeared. I never did know why the problem appeared nor why it disappeared.
In the interim I ran the disk utility several times and repaired permissions twice. That may have helped, but I don't know. -
OK..this forum help me locate my iPhoto so HOPEFULLY ya'll can help me w/ 1 another issue. When I open an event in iPhoto...I can see the pics but when I click on the event itself a HUGE exclamation mark pops up and not my pic. Its really weird that I can see the pic but cant open it. Hopefully we can correct this issue. Also, if anyone has the energy....pls tell me how I can export from my iphoto-I want to place all my pics on CDs or my external hard drive and when I try to export it says.."unable to export.." I dunno!

AmandaThe two problems are related.
The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
And that's why you can't export as well.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
