Why is it everytime i open itunes i have to log in

everytime i open itunes it has reset and i have to log in again and then change the view. i.e. show sidebar?

Also, I assume it's the username and password for your home page, which could be Gmail, Yahoo mail, or another secure site you want to visit that requires a login. Is that right, or is this request coming out of left field?

  • Why do I have to enter my password everytime I open iTunes?

Why do I have to enter my password everytime I open iTunes?
The only time I don't have this issue is if I open up iTunes within a few hours of signing in. If more than 10+ hours, I have to sign in with my password.
I can't see an area in the preference panel where I can bypass this step.
It makes sense if I'm in the iTunes store and purchasing a song, but not if I simply want to listen to an existing playlist.
    Any help would be appreciated

Actually, the only thng that will do is set the frequency of requiring the password once it has been entered the first time. The default (I think) if restrictions are NOT turned on is fifteen minutes. Regardless of this settings, the AppleID password will need to be entered at least once (more if there is a substantial amount of time between purchases.

  • Multiple Apple ID sign-in request everytime I open iTunes?

This has been going on for years, now I'm really fed up!
    Everytime I open iTunes I get this, 3 or 4 times...always.
After the first time, why on Earth does it repeat the request? Twice, or 3 times?
I don't understand. Is there something I can do?
I have changed Apple IDs and passwords and iTunes has obv. changed during the years, but this issue has never gone away.

    Thank you. Nick

Okay, we'll try the technique from the following post. Be sure to be logged in to your usual user account when doing so. (Otherwise you'll be editing the wrong set of HKEY_CURRENT_USER keys.)
Re: How do I turn off the compatibility mode for ITunes.
Does that clear up the compatibility message?

  • Everytime I open itunes I get a message saying itunes has stopped working and windows is looking for a solution

Everytime I open itunes I get a message saying itunes has stopped working and windows is looking for a solution

I have the same issue. An iTunes help page (iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues - Apple Support) suggested I hold down shift and control when clicking to open iTunes, which opens iTunes fine for me. That would mean the problem is in the third party plug-ins that work with iTunes. However, the help pages did not say what to do with the plug-ins once I knew that was the issue. The pages said to find the plug-ins and move them to the Desktop, which I did. That's where the help pages stopped, which is ridiculous. Does anyone know what to do from there?

  • I clicked the iCloud symbol in the top right corner of a tv show's artwork and it began to download the duplicate of that episode. I deleted the duplicated episode but everytime a open iTunes it begins to automatically download again. Help

I clicked the iCloud symbol in the top right corner of a tv show's artwork, wondering what it does, and it began to download a duplicate of that episode. I deleted the duplicated episode but everytime a open iTunes it begins to automatically download again. Help

It sounds like you may have hidden it, in which case you should be able to unhide it : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases. (You can't turn off the hiding of items.)
But you should be keeping and maintaining a backup copy of all of your downloads and not relying on being able to redownload them - any item could be removed from the store by the rights-holders at any time, if they do then you won't be able to redownload them (nor will be able to do redownload items if you move countries).

    Hi there slp1175!
It seems like your iTunes library is not pointing to the location of your iTunes Media folder. I have an article for you that can explain how to make your iTunes library source from your iTunes Media folder location, no matter where it is. That article can be found here:

This is a know problem with the Sony Vaio.

There is some preloaded software that causes problems, I believe it can be configured to exclude the iTunes folder.
Sony have released a software update for some models of Vaio but I don't have the link to hand. I guess you could look on their support site.

  • Is there any way to permanently delete the downloads in tunes that start everytime I open iTunes?

is there any way to permanently delete the downloads in tunes that start everytime I open iTunes?

    Ziatron wrote:
With Snow Leopard if you delete a file (put it the trash) and then do a secure delete it's gone.
The OP is adressing SSD's in particular. Neither Snow Leopard nor Lion have the ability to secure erase an SSD of a single file by user action. This because SSD's write data in pages, but can only delete in blocks. Secure emptying of the trash on an SSD is no different than a non-secure erase, as the controller will not permit erasure of blocks until the entire block is freed, which is almost never the case with even group file deletion. Erasure is simply the re-writing of the "allocation table" that the pages are no longer in use.
SSD's are only rendered "erased" of previous data after an indeterminate period of use, and re-use that would eventually free blocks for re-write, and then actually over-written.
TRIM helps speed this process, but does not alleviate the block versus page issue.
    Some additional info.

  • How do I stop the application check everytime I open itunes?

How do I stop the application check everytime I open itunes? I have 200 apps and to have to click 200 times for every app to confirm I do not want  to replace my newer version with an older version is a serious bug!  Is there something to click off the check, I have already told the preferences to stop checking for new software!

I have resolved the problem. Steps to resolution:
    1. Deleted all applications inside the folder "Automatically added to iTunes," many of those apps were also inside the Mobile Applications folder.
    2. Next, I uninstalled iTunes, and downloaded the latest version of iTunes.
    3. Restarted the computer.
    4. Installed the newest version of iTunes.
    This repaired the problem.

hello, I use windows xp, everytime I open itunes, it keeps telling me << to help protect your computer, windows have closed this programme, any idea?

try to select the computer cd/dvd autorun off.
I had the same problem, then Kaspersky software found a conflict suggesting me this solution.
Itunes now works...even if it always asks to set the cd/dvd autorun on when lunched.
