Why is it possible to scroll horizontal when there is none?

Hi there people,
I hope some of you can help me out with this little problem. Put lots of effort in my new portfolio but there is one irritating thing I can't get on with. The option to scroll horizontale is constantly enabled while there is nothing on the side; just blank! Maybe this is because I put images in the header and footer in the master. I want these images fixed in the middle and to be repeated in the browser. How can I do this? Is this a bug or just inexperience?

Hi,
It sounds like what you're looking for is to have the images as background fills for a rectangle. If you set the rectangle to have no background fill or stroke then set these images as the background for them you can tile (horizontally, vertically, or both) the image and you can set the rectangle to be 100% width. That way the rectangle will always be the same width as the browser and the image will be repeated, or set in the middle of the page and you don't need to tile the image.
Anytime you have an object outside of the browser area in Muse the page will scroll horizontally, so the easiest way to achieve any effect that you want to be 100% width will be to use rectangles, text frames, and any other object that supports 100% width.

Why does iTunes report 1GB of photos when there are none?

My iPhone was running out of space so I imported all photos to Aperture and deleted them from the phone after the import.
If I now go to the photos app I see that it is empty, but iTunes reports 1010 pictures occupying 984,9 MB of space on the phone.
I've tried factory resetting the phone and restoring a backup, but that didn't help.

Have you rebooted your iPad? Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple and it reboots. See if that helps.
I know with my hotmail it downloaded a bunch of old mail and I had to go through and 'read' it all to get it to be unread.

How can I prevent Magic Mouse from scrolling horizontally when I don't want it to?

I recently purchased a Magic Mouse to go with OS 10.6 Snow Leopard. It's a great mouse but it causes 2 problems:
If I leave it on "Scroll with interia" in System Preferences/Mouse, it scrolls horizontally when I don't want it to. Since I mostly work in Word documents, I often lose my place in the document this way. On the other hand, checking "Scroll without inertia" makes vertical scrolling, which I do all the time, a lot harder.
The mouse seems to cause what I think of as "fractures" in Word documents--words and parts of sentences will disappear or get crunched together , then reappear when I select the place where they vanished. They also reappear if I scroll vertically to get the problem area off the screen and then return to it. This wastes a lot of time at best; at worst, I'm afraid I'll lose work. The problem occurred once in a while with a Logitech bluetooth mouse I was using, but not as bad and not all the time.
I love the mouse's ergonomics and would like to keep it, but if I can't solve this problem, I'll have to return it. Would be very, very grateful for any tips! Thanks.

Always nervous about recommending sites I have no personal experience of. On the plus side it doesn't relate to any of the bad sites I am familiar with and it appears to be the developer's site ... but there is no contact point for you to ask questions. You said in your initial post it was to go with Snow Leopard but this version says it is meant for 10.7 and above. Did you notice that? I also notice several other references to Word and mouse and one person found the solution lay in the updating of word 2011 to its highest level. I can offer no more.

Up to now I was only mildly disappointed at the process of rebuilding mom's aging iMac. Basically, she needs to throw it away, sparing any subsuquent user the hassles I've endured 24/7 for the past 8 days or so... So, now I have a great, and utterly simple question which every single advanced user should know how to resolve. "Jean" -the main and only named user, is not an Administrator, and evidently it wants some other password to enter the space that would enable us to go any further.
I can firewire the drive, doctor it from my REAL Macintosh, and I can blank it out for a third time and start over, but eventually the motherboard is going to catch fire, that's a certainty. This brings into question the entire validity of rerstoring "Permissions"alltogether.

This may help:
Restore admin user status.
If your admin user loses admin status for whatever reason (and it has happened to a few people), and you do not have a second admin account, then try the following:
Boot into single-user mode. At the prompt enter:
mount -uw /
nicl -raw /var/db/netinfo/local.nidb -merge /groups/admin users your-username-here
Press RETURN after each command. To restart in OS X enter:
reboot
I recommend you write down these commands in a monospaced font. Be sure to carefully note where there are spaces in the command line.

When reading emails sent in html, I'm unable to scroll horizontally.
The only way I can read these emails is to press 'reply' or 'forward' and then scroll through the text.
Does anyone know of a better solution!?

That can be caused by Firefox releasing memory and doing garbage collection.<br />
If you start scrolling or moving the mouse on the page then Firefox needs to rebuild the DOM and that can take some time on complicated pages (e.g. tables or many nested elements).

Possibility to edit datasets, when there is already a maintenance view?

It was usual for me, that in the transaction SE16 don't allow that.

Depends on the setting for "delivery and maintenance" in SE11, should be set to "allowed with restrictions" for the underlying tables of the view. Also check the very good F1 help for this field.

How to correct the envelope indicator at the top of the screen that shows the number of messages to be 3 when the message & email inbox is empty? I have tried shutting the unit down but it still shows 3 messages and there is none. Help, thanks.

I had anchors scrolling to the left. I fixed that problem but now it scrolls back and forth horizontally.
I made all the images 100% width but I do not understand why it still scrolls back and forth, I tested it on all browsers.

Why doesn't my screen scroll up when typing after updating to 8.3?

What am I doing wrong?
After updating my iOS to 8.3 on an iPad I have been unable to see my curser once it progrsses down the screen behind the keyboard. The screen doesn't scroll upward to show the cursor.
This is very annoying since Id like to know where I'm typing and if I collapse the keyboard and touch the screen to move the cursor, the keyboard pops back up and hides the cursor. This typing feature works fine on my iPhone 6s with the upgrade but not on my iPad.
Any help would be appreciated on this matter

You enter "A". The exception is thrown. The "A" is not consumed. It calls nextInt on "A" again... and again... and again...
If you do nextLine, the "A" and the newline are consumed.
Even on good input, I don't think nextInt consumes the EOL.

Global Navigation - Sites (no longer offers the 'scroll' option when there are many sub sites)

Hi, just completed a test migration (database attach method) to SharePoint 2010 from MOSS 2007. We have many subsites in the SiteDirectory and in MOSS2007 they would all show when you mouse over the 'Sites' TAB on the page. In 2007, when the list was too
long for the page, you would get the little down arrow triangle and you could mouse over this to scroll the list down. I can see that in 2010 there is a new option for 'Maximum number of dynamic items to show within this level of navigation', and here you
can set the number of items to be 'returned' for this view. The problem is that it doesnt give you the nice little down arrow so you cant scroll to the rest of the items (as you could in 2007)! Now, forgive me if I am a little blunt here, but what the heck
is going on here when some really great and simple functionality is removed when you change the Visual Upgrade settings to v4 (i.e. 2010) and you cannot scroll up and down you list of sites now!
I hope someone else has seen this and can offer some help/ideas to get around this limitation.

No, never found an answer back then... We opted to create a 'site navigation' page, and included the different webparts to filter/show the subsites etc.

Why we are using SID in DSO when there we are using star schema in BI

can anyone answer me why we are using SID in DSO also, i mean what is the need of SID in DSO?

The reason basically is that the entire query api in BW is based on SIDs
If you look at a sql of a query that is generated when you run a report you can see this
Example..
If you put a selection of period = 02.2009
In the SQL you will not see "where period = 02.2009" you will see "where sid.period = '000100001010" or something like that
The whole query is like this for Infoproviders of DSOs and Infocubes
Yes it is annoying - but that't the way it is..
So if you have a DSO you wish to report on you need the SID for the SQL to fire..!
On an operational daya to day side - if my cubes are 1:1 granularity with my DSOs then I prefer to put SID activation on the DSOs - two reasons
1. so the cube load is quicker because the SID generation has already taken place (is this important? never sure but I always do it)
2. future use of the DSO as a reporting object (this was before the days of the operational store as part of a LSA structure)

Netflix iPad app: Can't scroll seasons when there are more than nine (9)

Using the latest rev of the Netflix iPad app, I go to watch a TV series like South Park or Top Gear (UK). If I want to watch episodes from another season/series, I tap on the appropriate dropdown. Since the dropdown only shows nine seasons, and South Park and Top Gear both have more than nine, I need to scroll to see the rest. However, when I attempt to slide my finger up/down on the list of seasons, it does not move/scroll.
I've made sure I'm on the latest rev of the Netflix iPad app, I've deleted the app and reloaded it, and I've reported this issue to Netflix. Netflix claimed they have not heard of it before.
I'm on the first iPad (hardware), for what it's worth.

Just called netflix and reported same issue. Son is trying to scroll down to seasons past nine on south park and family guy and only scrolls screen in background and not drop down menu of seasons. Reported this to netflix and was told they have never heard of it before
Went on to explain I tried this with my iphone 4, wifes iphone 3 and my sons ipod touch. All with the same result. Both daughters also have iphone 3 and will check tomorrow, but i'm sure the same result.
Workaround is to go to website and choose season and episode there which then opens in the netflix app. Huge pain though. Disappointing they still act like this doesn't exist.

Why does my iPhoto Library say 32gb when there's only one photo in it?

I am trying to figure out why my MacBook Air is running out of space, and am finding out that Photostream isn't photos in the cloud, it's photos in the cloud that it stores on my different computers hard drives or storage. So, I turned off Photostream, and deleted the pics as Disk Inventory X is telling me that my iPhoto Library is taking up 32.7gb of storage, despite there only being one picture in there that is no special picture. I deleted all the rest. There is ONE picture in the whole iPhoto Library, I deleted all the rest! What is taking up 32gb of my HD???

Have you rebooted since the deletions. That will empty a number of caches and may restore the freed up space. Also open the iPhoto Library package with the Finder as shown in this screenshot
locate the iPod Photo Cache folder and delete its contents. Make no other changes to the contents of the iPHoto LIbrary Package.
