How are you charging it? Plugged into the wall or via USB?
ALso, how drained is your iPad? If you're charging from 10% it will obviously take longer to charge than if you're charging from 30%.
Are you using an iPad charger? the cable will fit into an iPhone one, but iPhone chargers only put out half the power of the iPad chargers so it will take longer.
Some more details can help to determine if there's something wrong with your device or if it's simply a 'how' you can change to make it charge better.

How are you trying to charge it? It's best charged using its supplied power brick plugged into the wall. If you're trying to charge it via USB your results will be mediocre at best since most USB ports don't put out enough power. Same results if you are using an iPhone charger for your iPad.

Converted HD movies for Apple TV are not more than 2.5MB stream in HD. Apple TV gen 1 wa capable of 5Mbit with less FPS, but not newer once. Where did you get 6 and 8Mbit from?
There is no need for that fast stream (sorry buddy but I work with streams quite a bit).
The problem could be not a speed, but crowdeed networks. If one uses WiFI on 2.4 GHz then in crowded areas you have issue of too many overlapping WiFI networks and time sharing channels. Only three channels in WiFi band 2.4GHz do not overlap, but there are still shared by neigbors.
That is the reason I run 5GHz Wirless-N as the only one in my neigborhood. No channel overlaps, no choppy network, no choppy movies.
That may not be an issue of stream speeds. Just ADSL 3Mbit would be fine. Trust me as I had that for long time with Apple TV before I switched to FiOS.
Apple TV is equipped with enough memory to buffer almost entire H.264 encoded High Definition movie so only start could be delayed if network is slower, but not by 8 hours.
Another possibility is that Apple network is busy which I experienced quite a bit in the past especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. Rentals that time were menace.

iCloud does not sync media and only backs up apps. Why do you believe it is taking 4 hours to sync? Does the device actually say it is syncing?
Is the device plugged into external power during this time? If it is not, Wi-Fi is turning off and the device is reverting to the slower cellular network.

It shouldn't.
If internet playback is fine it's likely a problem with itunes or security software on teh computer as good internet playback performance would suggest the LAN is ok.
If you're seeing a spinning icon on AppleTV restart it, itunes andf your router - doesn't alweays work but often does.

What is your internet speed? The update is approx 3 GB and took ~ 27 minutes on my 10 megabit connection. This has a lot to do with how long it takes to download something. Network traffic will affect this as well. If too many people are trying to download the same thing at the same time, throughput will slow down. If the download is taking too long, possibly start it before heading to bed.

Why is it taking 3 hours to download trial version of photoshop, elements 10?

I am trying to download trial version of Photoshop Elements 10 and it saya it will take 3 hours to download. Why does it take so long? I thought the days of long downloads were like the dinosaurs, a thing of the past.

I am the author of above post, and I want adobe to be aware that I have uninstalled their product and will not be considering any products to be purchased from them. I spent several hrs. last night and all day today watching hour after hour of tutorials on the elements program and was still unable to complete a single project. I phoned support. Their return call was 3 hrs later than they said it would be and then they hung up before I even spoke to a CS rep.or support tech. You want the money, Adobe, but ypou don't want to put a user friendly program on the market, nor do want to make sure that sufficent support is out there for those of us brave enough or stupid enough to actually try to master your products. As I understands it - This has nothing to do with Your iMac - Any Mac would take the same time.
May be OS and support on the Window-PC platform handles this better.
• .avi - is no specific codec (file format) but a container and the codec in this might not be one that iDVD can directly use (encode to .mpeg2 as on DVD disks)
So either it just can't do it - or -
iDVD has to back-encode to an usably codec - THIS IS WHAT I THINK HAS HAPPENED
This back-encoding can take serious time - AND the final result usually is far from Good.
I would
• find out in what codec the .avi file is (I use QuickTime and in this inspector to read what codec .avi contains) (.mov is also a container)
• import it into a program that can transcode to a better codec for iDVD - streamingDV or AIC (I GUESS)
• then use this in iDVD

It shouldn't take this long. Close your iTunes and remove the device.
Try this,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
After restarting, you may get a prompt to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and Sync and see if it is working now.

Why is it taking 6 hours to start conversion??

I figured that since it says that subscribers have priority over trial users I would subscribe...but there is no improvement in the service after I paid! Tried converting 2 files yesterday on the trial, it sat there for almost 24 hours and nothing happened. I need these files today, and after paying, I see nothing different than I saw yesterday. I don't HAVE 6 hours to wait for this!! What is going on???

I have done that, and as of yet received no response. If I can't get these files converted by the end of the day, I have wasted the ten bucks. I used this service a while back (trial, even) and it started right away and worked beautifully, no idea what is going on.
