My configuration: iMac 2007, 10.9, OS 7.0.3 on all devices, iPhoto directory on external Firewire drive.
It's always taken a while for my devices to complete the "Importing photos" step of the syncing process - maybe 2-5 minutes.
Since the iOS 7 update, and iTunes 11.1, that process is taking up the 30 minutes! I have a very large iPhoto libray (260 gb and over 49,000 items) that is stored on an external Firewire drive. All that is set to sync are several relatively small photo albums that rarely change, and a smart album consisting of "Last 3 Months." The sync takes forever, regardless of whether any new photos have been added recently. I'm seeing the same behavior on my iPhone 5 and iPad Mini.

That show that your original library is damaged and needs to be repaired. Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Hi, very important emails have taken 12, 14 and 10 hours to reach my inbox. Therefore it was too late for me to carry on with my action regarding them.
I noticed that the last one was actually sent to me at 9.50am and I received it at 7.50pm !!! I should have received it within a few minutes.
Can anyone help me? as it is very important that I respond to these emails within an hour of them being sent.

If they are that important, then I would suggest that you use an alternative e-mail service. If these e-mails are business related, then you are not allowed to your BT Residential account for business use anyway.
BT Business, and other commercial e-mail systems, are guaranteed to deliver mail quickly.

My iMovie is taking Ridiculously Long to Import Videos

I am going to start from the beginning here.
My iMovie has been taking unbelievably long to import movies, and I do not know why. My movie is recorded from my Hauppauge HD PVR, a recording device used to record the screen of my Xbox360. When the movie is done recording, it is saved in whats called a .m2ts, an unreadable file by iMovie and QuickTime. I have a converter that allows me to put that into a .mp4, which allows me to view them through QuickTime. When I tried to import the movie into iMovie, it shows a time estimation of 2-3 hours completion, and the file is only 6 minutes long. I find this very odd, because when I have used iMovie before, I was able to upload these videos, sometimes even longer ones. I dont know why this is taking so long. I am using a previous project that I quit, would I have to start a new project and select a different frame rate or something? The movie is in 720p, recording at a variable average of 9 thousand kbps, and with a connection of 1280x720x60 fps. I am not sure why its suddenly taking very long to import, but once it starts I can't even close imovie, and I have to force shut down my computer holding the power button.
My Macbook has the following specs:
Version: 10.6.8
Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Due
Memory: 2GB 1067 MHz DDR3

You have to install them, so you would know if you have them.
An anonymizer is supposed to hide your identity so your surfing
cannot be traced back to you. I don't think it's foolproof. The
Virtual Private Network service encrypts everything so it is a lot
harder for a hacker to read your wireless transmissions at wireless
hotspots. Both of these items are in between you and the website,
and the extra stopover slows things down somewhat. I think that's
how they work.

For a test, I just downloaded Illustrator CC 2014 (1.6 GB), and the download completed within 13 minutes (and I am 10,000 km away from the Adobe download servers).

Why is it taking so long to back up on my external hard drive?

I have a WD 1TB 3.0 USB external hard drive & im transfering 200GB of data.
Why is it taking so long to back up all my data onto my exernal hard drive using time machine?

Yes, I was able to finally download two out of three of my applications. I waited three hours to get two pieces of software, and I still need to download one more application.
While talking to the customer service department in India, I was told that I could not get help in bypassing my slow Internet connection. Even though I have been a loyal and law abiding customer for thirteen years, Adobe's customer service department treated me like a piece of crap. All I wanted to do is get my applications on cd, so I can bypass the buggy and long downloading periods. I tried desperately to explain: (1) I have been a loyal customer for thirteen years, (2) I bought and committed to a yearly subscription, (3) I have followed Adobe's legal rules since day one, (4) I have no problems with the software's DRM, and (5) I love and support Adobe products.
Regardless about how much I sympathized with Adobe's position, I could not get your customer service department to 'care about me'. I walked away feeling depressed and defeated.
As a result of going through a horrible customer service experience, while also struggling with the change to cloud, I started to think about a change in career. Why do I want to be a graphic and web designer? I spent a crap load of money on an education, so that I can become a slave to the industry's dominate software maker. If it was not for the fact that Adobe's software is the industry's standard, the recent events with your customer service department would have made me walk away.
It sucks that your company has a 90% strangle hold on the industry I love.

What does download iCloud mean? You don't download iCloud. You download the content that is in your iCloud backup to your phone. If you have a great deal of content in the backup, it can take a good bit of time.
Define "so long". That doesn't mean anything to anybody here. It's a relative term and we have no idea how much time "so long" is to you.
