Why is it that after installing Lion, touchpad will not scroll

I installed Lion yesterday with no apparent problem.  The only thing unexpected is that the scroll function does not work on the touchpad.  The outer functions seem to be fine.  The mouse scrolls with no problem.  I have restarted a couple times with no result.  I am trying to adjust to using the pad but have to go to the mouse everytime I need to scroll up or down.  How can this be corrected?

Check to see if Scrolling is turned on under universal access in system prefs. System Preferences>Universal Access. Click on trackpad options and turn on scrolling with or without inertia.

  • Why is it that directory server and IAS will not install through a remote Terminal Services session??

    Hi,
I think this can be done in Unix, using telnet, you may log into the
    system and install it.

  • My touchpad will not scroll with the current version of foxfire.

The screen in foxfire will not scroll with the sliding of my finger on right side of the touchpad on my lenovo thinkpad or the navigation button. It does work with all other programs including windows explorer and google chrome.

OK, this is the original poster again. The trackpad scrolling problem has been sporadic. Now I have realized that I have this problem (in Firefox 7.0 and 7.01) WHEN THERE IS A PDF DOCUMENT OPEN IN ONE OF THE TABS. When there is a .pdf open, trackpad scrolling works fine in *that* tab but not in any of the other Firefox tabs that are open. When I close or move away from the .pdf file, then the scrolling function returns in the other tabs. Is there something about the Acrobat plug-in (ver. 9.4.5) that isn't working correctly in Firefox 7.x?

  • After Installing Lion, Ical does not work.  I cannot print, I cannot add an event, etc.  How do I reinstall?

Since installing Lion OS, iCal does not work.  I cannot add an event, print calendar, etc.  How do i reinstall?

    You can use Lion Recovery
Before you do that, go to ~/Library/Preferences
Move the com.apple.iCal.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac.
See if you can print or add an event now.

  • After installing Lion mail does not receive emails

I have just installed Lion and Mail is not longer receiving mails. These are arriving on my Blackberry and iPad. How do I resolve this problem?

You most likely need to open Mail>click on the word "Mail" in the Menu bar> click on "Preferences">click on "Accounts">now enter the correct information from your ISP for the Incoming AND outgoing Mail Servers, that your ISP provides you with>also enter your user name, email address and password for your ISP email account.
    Hope this helps

  • After installing windows 7, will not connect to my router

I installed windows 7, 64-bit on my macbook late 2009 model. After installing, it would not connect to my router. However, it did connect under Mac OS X and it also worked with my roommates laptops, but not my macbook running windows 7. I searched everywhere and could not find a solution. Tried updating drivers (updated to bootcamp for windows 64 bit, 3.1 and then 3.2). Tried setting it up manually. Also, did not work. Does anyone have any solutions for this? It seems a lot of people are also having this issue.

For wired or wireless if you have not already done it,
    1) Remove router cable from Modem,
    2) Unplug Router power,
    3) Unplug Modem power,
    4) Wait a few minutes
    5) Replug Router power,
    6) Replug router cable to Modem
    7) Replug Modem power
Also router may in combo with more modern (if wireless?) PC have security (password setup) requirement.

  • Error message after install-now iPhoto will not open

After installing iPhoto, a message asks to upgrade the library. Soon, a message says
There is a problem in your iPhoto library folder. In the finder, select the iPhoto Library Folder. Then choose file > Get Info. Make sure you have Read & Write permissions for the folder and then apply this setting to all the enclosed items.
All you can do is quit after this message
Easy prompts, that I have followed, and now I do have read and write permissions selected, without any change. Iphoto sill will not open.

    Metal Ox
Whats most likely happened is that permissions on one or more of the pics have become screwed up. Try the following:
    Download BatchMod from
    http://www.macchampion.com/arbysoft/
and copy the settings shown here:
    http://homepage.mac.com/toad.hall/.Pictures/Forum/BatChmod.png
inserting your acount name as needed.
(Credit to Mr Old Toad for that one).

Welcome to Discussions - which model iMac do you have? No G5 iMac takes more than 2.5GB of RAM. If you have an intel, try removing one of the sticks and see if that helps.
    Please post back with results,

  • After Installing Lion I can not restore the latest iOS because I seems that I do not have the rights to do it

haven't you have problems trying to upgrade to iOS 4.3.5? I installed MAC OS 10.7 and now I'm receiving a message saying that I don't have the rights, however I can sync it without any problems.

Sorry to be so late getting back to you. My furnace died and I was a week without heat. Everything's ok now.
I was able to grab an old firefox from an external drive (thank God for backups!) and I used that along with the link that you sent me for older versions and I was able to download the version before the current update.
    Thank you for your help.

  • After installing Lion, Safari is Not Working

Problem:     Trying to access my website  http://www.johnrollow.com I get this error message.
       Not Found
The requested URL / was not found on this server
Apache Server at www.johnrollow.com Port 80
I get the same error message from  both Safari (5.1.1) and Firefox (7.0.1).
I installed OSX 10.7.2 (Lion) about two weeks ago and had not tried to access the website since then.
Hostgator confirms the site is accessible.  From myWindows netbook, which I rarely use, it is also accessible.
What is causing the browsers on my MacBookPro to fail?

Third-party system modifications are a common cause of instability and poor performance. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions -- they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
Launch the Terminal application, copy or drag -- do not type -- the line of text below into the window, and press return:
    kextstat -kl | awk ' !/apple/ { print $6 $7 } '
Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.)
Next, do the same thing with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk ' !/0x|apple|com\.vix|edu\.|org\./ { print $3 } '
That's one line, not two. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
    Next, this command:
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk ' !/0x|apple|edu\.|org\./ { print $3 } '
Again, one line. Finally, one more:
    ls -1A {,/}Library/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Sta}* 2> /dev/null
Important: If you synchronize with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address will appear in the output of the above command. Change it to something like “[email protected]” before posting.
Remember, this is all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer -- no typing, except your password.
    You can then quit Terminal.

  • Is there a way to darken the dates (numbers) on ical. After installing Lion I can barely read the dates of the month in ICal

Is there a way to darken the dates (numbers) on the ICal calender. I can barely read mine after installing Lion.

I should note that the time stays on the left of the event name when I re-enter the text (which I had to do all the time before I found the "show event times" button) so I feel like there's a way.

  • Using Windows 7 after installing Lion.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate using Bootcamp in my iMac. Will it be safe after installing Lion or will it get corrupted?

    Will not be safe.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3199099?tstart=0
It may, but it could also present unable to boot back into Windows, it may change the partition number and require editinig BCD or just boot from Windows DVD and repair if possible and lucky.
I would install Lion to another drive, which is possible. It will need to erase the entire drive. Then clone the OS back if you want - or just run Lion off external and test it for a few days.
