Why is it that my ABP does not block the advertisements?

Why is it that my ABP does not block the advertisements?.. because it did not work I removed Firefox.. then downloaded a new one.. which came with a ABP.. I thought it would work but it doesn't work some one suggested some kind of subscription and where to find it but it was not there.. please help me if you can.. I had my fill of the adds that I do not want. thanks for any help Stan.

The software that you choose does not match the Selected Printer

Hi Friends,
I am trying to install a network Printer suing my Win Xp SP3 PC.
Since there is no drivers installed in this PC, I tried to select Have Disk option in the Bonjour Printer Setup Wizard and selected the INF file provided by the Manufaturer. When i select the INF file and click ok, It prompts with message "The software that you choose does not match the Selected Printer".
But the Manufaturer name is listed under the Manufacturer Tab and nothing on the Model Tab.
Any idea why i am getting this error message. Please help me if anyone is aware of this.

I haven't seen Apple use a "shared secret". and believe this must be a message from the magazine app. I suggest asking the magazine, as this appears not to be an Apple problem.

That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!
Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:
/Library/Application Support/Conduit
/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
where / is the root library on your Hard Disk.
If you are running Snow Leopard you should also look here:
Library/launchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
Library/Application support/conduit plugins
Also, as mentioned by Gilli2000:
Library/Receipts - If you read it, it has information in it at the bottom referring extensively to "CT" and "community toolbar".
Maybe it is harmless, but trash those items anyway!

You're submitting a Newsstand app, right? This error is still under investigation, but the current workaround is create SD (1024x768/768x1024) cover images for your HD (2048x1536) folio renditions and try again.

Why is it that my powerbook does not recognize when i insert external hard drives through the USB 2.0 port

when i insert an external harddrive through the usb port, my mac doesnot recognise that its even there but when a flash disk is inserted, it recognises it perfectly.

Michael is on the right track. Some external hard drives lacking their own power supply simply cannot get enough power from a single USB port. It is most noticeable in the "name brand" drive that the office supply and computer superstores put on sale every other week. Their chipsets seem to be better optimized for Windows than Macs.
Flash drives work because the don't have a power-hugry motor that must turn.
There are two easy and inexpensive cures that allow you to keep your current drive:
get a "Y-cable" that let you connect one drive to two of the computers UWB ports. Example:1 Meter USB 2.0 A to 5 Pin Mini B Cable - Auxiliary USB "Y" Power Design for external hard drives.
get a self-powered USB hub. It has a separate power supply that boosts what goes to the drive. Example: Macally TriHub - 4 Port Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Hub for Mac & PC
If you need the computer and drive to work together in an environment lacking a power source for the hub, and the y-cable isn't an option because you have too few available USB ports, then your only option is to replace the current drive with one better optimized for Macs, like these:

We have mac os X 10.5.8 we tried to upgrade with the new firefox 4. it removed our old firefox and replaced it with firefox 4. Now we get a message that our system does not support the new firefox. All our bookmarks settings are gone. Please advise.

Many of you have had problems with Spotify for Mac OS X 10.5. We no longer support Spotify on this operating system which we announced back in November here as a "heads up".
However, we've noticed that many folks have been updating regardless which should not be the case. Our intention was to let anyone using Mac OS X10.5 continue using a "legacy" version of Spotify. In any case, the folks who were using 10.5 were updated, and in many cases these customers have experienced crashes with the newest version of the application (Spotify version 0.8.8. at the time of writing).
To make a long story short, we messed up in updating folks who should not have been updated and we're sorry. We plan on fixing the problem of Spotify updating to the latest version for Mac OSX 10.5 users and we're working on it as I write this. If you're a person who has already upgraded and the application is crashing, we're looking into a solution and we hope to have an update shortly.

Why is it that awt.canvas does not show in javafx

I wrapped an AWT canvas using a JPanel as a SwingComponent in JavaFX in order to use jvlc to view a video. When calling this JPanel from a JFrame it renders fine and I see the video which is sent there. When I put the SwingComponent on a scene in a stage, I only seem to see the Panel, I don't see the rendered video on the canvas, I got no exception and I can hear the audio. I don't understand why the canvas doesn't render. Does someone have a solution or an explanation?
Has anyone succeeded in using jvlc with JavaFX?

Several people asked how to use it in JavaFX, nobody gave a usable answer...
One of the answer (from me...) concludes that mixing heavyweight component with a pure graphical scenegraph is probably not possible (at least for end-users like us), particularly if said scenegraph is drawn using OpenGL or DirectX.

I have a mac mini-snow leopard. I recently bought an external HD. I want to use part of the HD to back up my mac via Time Machine. The other part I want to use to store my Itunes and other media such as movies with VLC so that I can take the HD and play it back thru my windows XP laptop. The problem is that my laptop does not see the part of the external drive that has my mac info stored on it. Only sees the drive ( as drive E ) with zero data that was created by me when I partitioned it on my mac. I partitioned the drive in two. One partitioned under GUID for mac. The other part under exfat for windows. Any suggestions on why my XP laptop cannot view the mac info on the HD. Thanks.
