Why is it that my browser always crashes in iOS 5.0.1?

Every time I open Safari on my iPad 2 16GB Wifi running iOS 5.0.1, it always crashes. No matter what I do or try, the browser always dies. It's unusable.

I've done seven or eight hard resets.  I've tried clicking links within emails, and as soon as Safari opens – two minutes later it crashes. As soon as I touch the address bar upon opening Safari – it crashes. I swear if I look at Safari the wrong way – it crashes.
iOS 5.0.2 please come ASAP.

  • Why my Firefox v6.02 browser always open *.csv (comma delimited) file in another tab rather than downloading a file? I do not have right click option to save this file.

My Firefox v6.02 browser always open *.csv (comma delimited) file in another tab rather than downloading a file? I do not have right click option to save this file. My OP is windows XP sp2.

    Hi mha007,
    Go to this site "http://www.nseindia.com/content/indices/ind_histvalues.htm"
Select any Index type and from dates select just one day or any number of days. Click "Get Details" button. This will open tabular data on loaded page (with link CSV file link at bottom).
When I click this link, it opens CSV file in new tab (in Firefox browser) and does not open download window (just as in case of other file formats like *.zip, *.rar or *.xls).
Right-click of link does not give "save as" or "save file" option.
Firefox is my preferred and default browser.

surprisingly, When I do same thing in IE6 browser, data-table page shows 2 options below table, i.e. (1) download file (2) open file.

  • Safari browser is crashing on iOS 7 platform

My iPad is updated the latest iOS 7.
Following web address I was browsing when I found the safari crashes. While crash, there were only one application was running behind and I was browsing thru wi-if network.
    https://locate.apple.com/in/en/sales/?a=Bangalore&pt=3&x=22&y=13
Taped on Next tab for 2 times on this web page. 3rd time when I tapped next, Safari crashed.
Then I oped the same web address on my iPhone 3GS which is on older iOS version 6.1.3. No crash found while browsing.
Also, the Reminder app is not at all working on my iPad since I have upgraded to iOS 7

Check, can you reproduce this crash on your pad?
What you need to do is: open the above apple web link, tap on sales option, type Bangalore and choose iPhone from the drop down context menu and tap to Go.
Now find a Next tab. 3 to 4 time you tap on Next button and you can reproduce the safari to Crash.
Also I found Many more apps are also crashing on iOS 7 platform. TuneIn Radio app one of them. Whereas these apps are quite stable on iOS 6.
Stability is the only key point Which I like from apple but unfortunately, gradually apple's product are no longer stable.

  • Why is flash player (11.5) always crashing??  This is really becoming cumbersome.

Plus i never seem to get any help from Adobe??

I understand your frustration.  If there's an issue with the product, we'd like to fix it.  Unfortunately, there's not enough information here to be actionable.
There are a couple things that would be really helpful to know:
Do you see the same stability problems with Internet Explorer or Chrome?
(Each of them have significantly different implementations of Flash Player)
The last few crash logs from Firefox would be interesting
In the Firefox address bar, type about:crashes.
Click each link, then copy the resulting address.
If you get a message about throttling, just go back and click the link again.
    Thanks!

  • Why does my App Store app keep crashing in iOS 6?

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 and my App Store launches and as soon as I scroll and check out apps, it crashes. Any thoughts? I typically only have one or two Apps open at the same time. I close apps when I don't use them. Could it be a memory problem?

Sign out of the device/store and then sign back in.

  • Constant browser hanging/crashing (Safari, Firefox, and Camino)

    Hello everyone.
Lately my browser has been hanging/crashing on multiple websites. It doesn't matter what browser I use which is the odd thing! A browser always crashes at around the same time (about a second or two into loading). I am constantly force-quitting browsers and restarting them. I feel like it has something to do with Flash because the crashes occur whenever I visit Youtube, Myspace music pages or other sites with Flash applets on them (such as my blog where I have embedded videos).
Here are a bunch of sites my browser hangs on. Maybe you can find something in common with them all?
    http://www.myspace.com/bbeyke
    http://www.youtube.com
    http://justinmarclloyd.blogspot.com
And of course, everything runs smoothly when visiting sites with basic HTML, Javascript, etc. I can search Google, use Wikipedia, use Flickr, go to my website at http://justinmarclloyd.com, go to my business website at http://www.theblacksea.org, browse apple.com, use this forum, etc.
I've tried updating and reinstalling adobe flash player, restarting my computer, repairing permissions, using software update, etc. Restarting actually temporarily fixed the problem but within a few hours of browsing, it started happening again.
    Any ideas?!
EDIT: I was able to go to http://video.google.com/ and successfully watch videos there. Now I'm even more confused.

    HI,
Try resetting Safari. From the Menu Bar, click Safari/Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
If that doesn't help, try Open DNS Click the computer icon and follow the instructions.
Also try deleting this file. com.apple.safari.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.
Go here for information on background maintenance.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2319?viewlocale=en_US
Make sure you have available disk space. Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.
If none of the above helps, post the most recent crash log.
How to locate a crash log:
    1. Open Finder.
    2. Click "Go" in the menu, then select "Go to Folder".
    3. Copy and paste this path into the Finder dialog:
~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/
    4. Click the Go button.
    5. Finder opens the folder containing the crash log. Look for a the crash file with a date field that looks like the most recent.

  • Why does App Store always crash when I try to open the appliction?

Why does App Store always crash when I try to open the appliction?

You don't have the typical symptoms that I associate the following issue with (normally the error kicks in just when folks visit the Store), but just in case try gn_id's suggestion from the following post:
Re: iTunes 11 crashes when opening the store - no error message

  • Why does the App Store always crash

Why does the app store always crash when I go to use the app genius on my ipod touch, it does it everytime. It even does it ocasionaly when I search for apps. Whats going on Apple. Please look into this or tell me how to turn genius off if thats what is causing the crashes, I can't find how to turn it off in the settings.

The most usual explanation would be that you need to update or you have to many things taking up your memory

  • ITunes always crash when I press the browse button...

if I have opened the browse window in iTunes main window, and then start to play musics, at this moment when I press browse button to close the browse window, iTunes always crashes.
I don't know if it is a bug. Anyone can help me?
    thanks

    hiya!
Indeed, when crash happend it gave me a popup window to say that it has met a problem and have to be closed.
okay, let's try enlisting some additional technical help then.
we'll get a crash log from itunes, and send it to so someone who can interpret crash logs.
Typically, you'll need to configure Dr. Watson on your PC in order to generate crash logs. Windows start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return. At the prompt in the command line window that comes up, type in
    drwtsn32 -i
    And hit return.
This will create crash logs in Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\. There'll usually be a file in here called "drwtsn32.log"
prior to collecting the itunes crash log, delete any existing crash logs in there. (we want to make sure we send the correct crash log.)
generate the crash, collect the crash log, and send it to this email address
    in the email:
    (1) state the precise version number of itunes that you're using.
    (2) include the URL to this thread so that the person who gets the email has some context, but also give as much information about the context of the crashing as you can.
    love, b

  • Why is my Firefox 4.0.1 crashing and deleting my browsing history and bookmarks?

This is the third time in the past month and a half that my Firefox 4.0.1 has crashed and deleted both my browsing history and my recent bookmarks. It seems to delete up to about a week's worth of information.
In the past, my Firefox browser would crash, but it would at least retain my last entered information (but that was the older version of Firefox); so this is something entirely new. I updated to 4.0.1 about two months ago, hoping that this would be better, but these random, information deleting, crashes are driving me crazy! I'm hesitant to download the new 5.0 version for the fear that these crashes will get worse...but mainly because I love Hypertext too much and I don't want to lose it to the upgrade.
I had read that one of the options to identifying the problem is to post a crash I.D.; however, when I searched for my latest crash reports, it doesn't show either of the two crashes that concerns me. So I'm even more curious to what this problem might be. I can tell you some of the key behaviors before it crashes:
    * It begins to lag (slower than snail pace).
    * It's almost impossible to click from one tab to the other (even if I only have two tabs open).
    * My comp's physical memory spikes.
    * The browser window will sometimes freeze and shut down the whole program, but this time (today), the window closed on its own.
    * When I'm forced to close Firefox from my Task Manager, sometimes I actually have to restart my computer before I'm able to use the browser again.
    * The crash happens randomly. I haven't noticed a crash pattern based on websites that I visit.
I hope someone can help me. I would really like this remedied. It just sucks having spent so much time bookmarking research material, just to have all of it wiped away without a reason.

Try to update to the latest Firefox 12.0 version.
You can find the latest Firefox release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:
    *Firefox 12.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/gfx.color_management.mode
    * https://developer.mozilla.org/En/ICC_color_correction_in_Firefox
Caveats: The new QCMS color management system introduced in Firefox 3.5 currently only supports ICC version 2 color profiles, not version 4.
You can set the gfx.color_management.enablev4 pref to true on the about:config page and close and restart Firefox to enable ICC V4 support in Firefox 8+, but that feature is not yet fully implemented, so there may be problems in some cases.
    Test page:

  • All of my downloads fail instantly and when I close the browser normally, it says that the browser crashed and asks to restart. Please Help

Fairly recently I haven't been able to do any downloads off of my firefox client, they fail instantly. I am in desperate need to download my resume, as my resume file is also messed up (been using it for months but now it says its a read-only file), but that's another story. Also, when I normally close my firefox browser, the crash module pops up even though it was closed normally.
I also tried downloading with IE which failed, and saving a screenshot of the problem in paint refuses to save as well.
I built this custom PC this summer, and have just been getting one problem after another, so I would greatly appreciate it if I could get help fixing my firefox browser, as I have strictly been using firefox as my browser for the last 5+ years.
