Why is it that past purchased songs do not show up on my ITunes?

Songs previously purchased over the years are not showing up in my purchased or are showing up as albums not currently in US store. I am assuming as I changed e-mail addresses through the years they used to follow me and would continue. I should not have to pay for previously purchased music.

Content acquired via iTunes is permanently tied to the Apple ID it was acquired with.
If the email address associated with the Apple ID was simply updated, this should be a non-issue.
However, if a new Apple ID was created, there are no past purchases from previous Apple IDs associated with it.
Sign in with and authorize the computer for those old Apple IDs.
Download the content purchased with those old Apple IDs.
STOP creating new Apple IDs simply because the email address has changed.

  • Purchased Songs Do Not Show up in iTunes or on iPod

I switched my iTunes Library from a PC to a Mac using this method:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329?viewlocale=en_US
Before I added songs to my Mac, I bought some using iTunes. I then added my songs from my PC using the link above. When I went back to look up all my songs, the songs that I purchased on my Mac before adding my new songs from the windows were not there. Does anyone know why this is or how I can fix or retrieve my songs?

Did you follow these steps from the end of that article?

  • Family Sharing setup on both phones but the purchased songs do not show on member's device

So I set everything up with both my phone and my wife's iPhone.  All the devices are updated to iOS8.  I set up Family Sharing, my wife accepted it.  The family calendar works perfectly.  BUT the music in (iTunes Purchased) that are listed on my phone do not show up in the my wife's phone. Everything is accepted but when I go to Music in her phone, I do not see the items I have purchased. I can see the 155 songs she has purchased, but I do not see my 255 songs that I have purchased and appear on my phone.  Seems like I'm missing something here.    Any thoughts ?

Also, when I go to Purchased in the iTunes Store I do not see any family member (wife) for me to browse their collection.

  • Purchase Songs But Not Showing Apple ID

Recently I purchased around 14 songs in iTunes for PC. But what amusing is, while i open 'get info' from songs I purchased, I didnt see apple id which I use for purchase songs or apps.
Can we solve it? I just curious, just because in early this year, I also purchased 4 songs, but while i open 'get info', I can see apple id which I use for purchase.
    sorry for bad grammar.
    Thanks for your solutions.

(sigh) you always seem to get the kinky ones, Casey. (weren't you one of the folks with one of those horrible itunes 5.0.x versions of the iPod Service Error?)
it's kind of strange that it isn't showing up in Disk Management, even when it is in disk mode.
let's check one more thing with the drive letter confusion possibility (before we start looking at weird database file issues and other exotica).
while the ipod is disconnected, try doing a files and folders search for an "ipod_control" folder on all your attached drives.
it's normally a hidden folder on the ipod, so you may need to get your PC to show hidden files and folders. in My Computer, go "Tools > folder options", and click on the "View" tab. "show hidden files and folders" is in the advanced options.

  • HT203164 I have purchased several books on tape via my computer and now want to sync them to my ipod....I can't find the appropriate buttons to do that.  Also though I have receipts for books purchased they are not showing up on my Itune purchased list.

I have purcase several audio books via Itunes and they are on my computer however I have been unable to figure out how to transfer (sync??) them to my Ipod.  Also I have receipts for several Itune audio books but they are not showing up on my purchased list. Help!!!

lizdance40, audio books are NOT available for redownload. Books with words areavailable for redownload.
    See:
    http://www.tuaw.com/2013/04/03/audiobooks-are-not-backed-up-by-icloud-can-only-b e-downloaded-o/
In the future please do not post incorrect information
    lizdance40 wrote:
If iTunes still carries the books, they ARE available to download from the cloud, either to the computer or your iPod Touch directly.
Open iBooks on the device and tap on 'purchased'.
    download.
iTunes does not garentee to carry a book forever, a serious flaw.  If you can't find the book in iTunes anymore and didn't keep it on the computer, or backed up, it may be gone.
    To add audio books to the iPod;
you have to check the box at the bottom section of the Books screen that says, "sync audio books"

  • Several of my purchased songs are not appearing in my laptop itunes

I purchased them via itunes app on my iphone, but many are not appearing on my laptop's itunes program. I have synced my phone and laptop several times. Any idea how I can fix this?

    Hello, cimartin.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This could be a result of Automatic Downloads not being enabled.  The best option would be to download the missing music via the steps in the second article below.

  • TS2753 a purchased song does not show my name on the info

I purchased a song thru I-tunes and I cannot get it to play.  If I look at the info, it does not show who it was purchased by.  All of my other songs do and they play fine.

The 'Purchased' music is just a special Playlist. You can create your own and drag the links into the 'Purchased' PL.
Using the command CMD-J you can add the Purchase date to your list view - sort by date - drag the tunes to the 'Purchased' PL.

  • My purchased ringtones are not showing up on my iTunes account?! Where are they??

The screen on my laptop has an internal crack so im using my mom's laptop for now. When I connected my iPhone to the computer, I couldn't do anything without syncing my phone which meant everything got erased! I wasn't too upset because I backed up everything on iCloud. Well for some reason, it didn't back up anything and I lost all my media. No biggie. I added most of the songs and apps back. I tried to add the ringtones I've purchased from iTunes but they're not showing up under the "purchased" section of my iTunes account. I don't know why they're not showing up. It's at least 20 ringtones that I've purchased at $1.29 each! Please help!!

I purchased three ringtones on my iPhone 5. They installed quickly and I was easily able to assign them to contacts. The next time I connected my iPhone to iTunes on my computer the ringtones disappeared from my iPhone. They were still showing in iTunes ringtones section on my computer. They showed up on my iTunes accounts page as being purchased too. I tried everything suggested on the forums to get my purchased ringtones to show on my phone again, with no success.
I started trying different things out of desperation and finally lucked upon a solution. I opened iTunes on my computer. Under the Library section I opened Tones (left side of screen same section as music, movies, etc.). When the tones section opened it showed my three ringtones. I dragged the three ringtones to the desktop. I then deleted the three ringtones from the tones menu. It asked if I wanted to delete them from iTunes completely or just from the tones section. I chose to delete them from the tones section only. Once they were deleted From the tones section i went back to the desktop and dragged the three ringtones from the desktop back to the tones section. The computer automatically synced to my phone and VIOLA! the three ringtones appeared on my iPhone again.
Extra suggestion. I have been using an app from the iTunes Store named Ringtone Maker Pro. It takes songs from my iTunes library and converts them to ringtones. It does a great job. There is a video attached that shows exactly what to do step by step.
    Hope this helps.

  • All Purchased Apps still not showing up even after iTunes Update

Even after getting lates iTunes update I am only see 88 of my purchased app versus 2134. Is anyone else experiencing a proble see their purchaed apps in iTunes?

Yes, I am using only one Apple ID. The problem, since iOS 6, is the App Store purchased items screen just shows a spinning wheel until it finally crashes or gives the error message 'can not connect to Apple store'.
I can see my purchased apps on the Mac iTunes but not on any on my devices that have been updated to iOS 6.

  • My purchased songs do not show up in my 'purchased' page on the itunes sotre.

I've purchased a number of songs from itunes, and upon reformatting my computer I lost all of them. I followed all the steps I could find on the apple website, however my itunes (at the current version) seems to differ from what support on the website tells me; See the link below.
    http://i.imgur.com/T25VU.jpg
    I contacted support, and I recieved an email telling me they had "posted the missing items to your download queue and they are waiting to be downloaded at your earliest convenience." Now, the problem was that upon redownloading the songs, my computer suffered another critical failure, which resulted in needing to be reformatted again. The problem presented itself, so after trying all steps I could to get my music back, I contacted support again. I recieved an email containing the following;
"I looked at your account and saw that on 09/14/2011, the iTunes Store made an exception and allowed you to download your purchases again. However, because your songs gone missing, I have decided to make a Second--and Final--exception for you.
Please note that Apple does not offer protection for the loss of data from your hard disk, so I recommend that you back up your iTunes library as soon as possible and thereafter on a regular basis."
    This seems to be the opposite of what the itunes website tells me, see the following link;
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
    Additionally;
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1103
I feel very disatisfied with this contradiction between the iTunes support and the iTunes support website, as well as extremely decieved if I am in fact unable to download my purchases.

This seems to be very misleading. When I looked for assistance regarding my downloads and iCloud (see the two links I posted) I found nothing saying it was exclusive to the US.
    http://www.apple.com/icloud/
    When I found this, I still struggled to find any evidence that it was US only, until down the very bottom of the page;
"Some music features of iCloud are available in beta now in the U.S. only and require iOS 4.3.3 on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 (GSM model), iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation), iPad, or iPad 2, or a Mac or PC with iTunes 10.3 or later"
I feel extremely mislead. Especially given in my initial correspondance with iTunes support, nothing of this nature was mentioned.
    http://i.imgur.com/YUgab.jpg
Indeed, in my second response form iTunes support, I was still not provided with any information regarding why my store page and profile differed from that of the apple website.
    http://i.imgur.com/YUgab.jpg
Had I been given this information immediately, I would have been able to make different decisions based upon that knowledge, and saved myself a great amount of time and hassle.
Now I find myself asking why I would bother buying music on iTunes at all? As a student, I have an extremely tight budget and bought songs only when I could REALLY spare the cash, if I found the artist exceptionally good. I'm wondering why I would even buy music on iTunes, if it doesn't provide basic the download managing software that it implies, and even outright says that it does (with an exception that I struggled to find).
While I do understand that this mainly my fault for not digging through dozens and dozens of web pages (well, I did, but not the right ones apparently) I feel extremely disatisfied with how I have been decieved and wasted money I otherwise wouldn't have spent.
From this point on I'll only be buying music CD's and DVD's, or buying from online retailers that DO offer proper download management and redownloading.
Thank you for your quick response, roaminggnome. At least from this point I can make much more informed decisions. I guess my next question is if it is possible to refund my purchases from iTunes, so I can purchase some form of media that won't become corrupted when my computer decides to throw another fit : \
Just an additional side-thought. Isn't the act of backing up (copying) music against the law in some areas? Doesn't it fall under piracy laws in some countries? I'm probably wrong there, but for some reason that rings a bell for me, given it's the reproduction of digital media.

  • Purchased songs do not show up under "Songs"

So I purchased a few songs on my iphone today. Two of them showed up on the phone fine. The last two have some issues. They show up in the artist category in my phone, but not under the songs section. I can search for the song in the songs category by typing out the title, but then that's it, after the song is done music stops playing, and I prefer to have my music on shuffle and I prefer searching for my music by scrolling through titles. I tried syncing to my computer, taking the songs off then syncing, adding them back on and then syncing, but none of that has made a difference. Is there a way to get the songs to show up in the songs category?

I am not an iTunes Match subscriber and do not have that setting on on my phone.

  • My purchased movies do not show up in my itunes

I only see 2 of my 30 purchased movies in my iTunes store, how do I get them to appear. I also do not see my icloud anywhere to check. Thanks

Whether you can redownload films depends upon what country that you are in, and if you've moved countries since buying them. If you can redownload them then they will show in the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes, or you can go into Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac) and on the Store tab tick the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' and they might then show in the Movies part of your library with a cloud icon against them for redownloading. If not all films show then check to see if you've hidden any of them : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases.
But ideally you'd be keeping and maintaining a backup copy of all of your purchases, any item could be removed from the store by the rights-holders at any time

  • Why won't my ipod nano 6th gen not show up on my iTunes or on my computer?

I have gone through all of the steps to make it work, but still no luck. What should I do? It has never done this before.

    Hi riciatay42,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The article below should help you with this:
iPod not recognized in My Computer and in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1369
Usually the resolution is updating the Apple Mobile Device Driver.  See the section labeled Verify that the USB Drivers are installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.
If this does not resolve the issue, you may need to remove iTunes and all of its components as outlined in this article:
Issues installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows

I hope this information helps ....
