Why is it that the new Macbook Pro processor upgrade option only offers up to 2.8 Ghz boosting to 3.3 Ghz with Intel Dual Core i7, when back in Sep 12 I bought a 2.9 Ghz boosting to 3.6 Ghz Intel Dual Core i7 Macbook, is the new one tuned somehow to go much faster anyway, or will the new one be slower in fact? Or does the solid state drive compensate for the lack of increased processor capacity?

The CPU's come from different Intel 'families'. The older ones are 'Ivy Bridge' and the newer ones are 'Haswell'. Numbers alone will not determine the efficiency of CPU.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

Check to see if you have an old phone number associated with this person in your address book. When you call someone on Facetime it calls ALL numbers/emails associated with that persons contact sheet! This was my problem, this stranger has my husband's old phone number!

My guess is, it would be if you leave it sitting in the sun just because dark colors tend to absorb more radiant heat. But that does not say the internal heat would be affected as long as it isn't exposed to significant external heat. However, given the variety of reported heat conditions of the computers, I suspect it is as much a matter of how well the machine is taken care of as what color it is. This computer went from 10.6.8 and jumped to 10.7.3 and I had to split the RAID 1 array it started on to get the installation to restart and complete. Hints from the installer that some features would not be available (autorecover drive) didn't hit it would leave a folder crucial to operation of Apple's own software inaccessible.

Why was that folder not accessible except to system? and hidden in the normally hidden /Users/X/Library for fun? with a nearly useless error?

As far as I know, the AutoSave feature as it is treated by iWork apps is unable to work on networks.
You must work on the local machine then copy the document to the network.
I guess that this annoying feature will strike until the delivery of the lond waited major upgrade.

I dont understand why apple has chosen, to keep the 3GS going, for $0.99 on AT&T, i understand that the iPhone 3G was discontinued around 2011, but why couldnt they still make lite versins of the firmware, for example 4.2.1 lacks some features. They could have very well done that wirh 4.3.3 and 5.0.1

The processor is too slow and there is not enough RAM in the 3G for iOS 5.

Yes it is installed, yes it is enabled, yes I have restarted Safari.
It still doesnt recognise that flash is installed. We had this problem with another website whilst I was testing software before I retired, the problem was that the website was NOT correctly interrogating the browser to ascertain its installation. I suspect that or the fact that the website URL changes when the test is being run from 'diagnostics.bt.com' and Safari is rejecting the web site as not authosrised.
No request to allow access is ever presented when running the test BTW.

Why is it that the iMovie project is less sharp than the individual clips?

Hello everybody,
I must admit that I'm new to digital video taping, but I'm pretty sure that I'm not hallucinating. The problem I'm seeing is that the HD clips that I'm shooting and importing in 1920 x 1080 resolution (in either 60i or 30 fps) are very sharp when I view them individually, but once I assemble them into an iMovie '09 project, the resulting video is much less sharp. I'm using a Canon Vixia HF100 camcorder.
Is this some expected behavior or is it a bug? More importantly, is there anything I can do to fix this?

Have you rebooted the Mac. Give that a try.
If that doesn't work you could reinstall Fusion but if Fusion opens and you can get to the Library windows of Fusion I think your VM OS is toast.
I make a habbit of copying the VM to another internal, yes I have 2 internal drives in my MBP, and to an external drive. I do this about once a week. That way if the Mac screws something up I have a backup I can use to overwrite the one that does not work correctly.
