Why is ITS ignoring its' own documentation? explicit woes..

Hi all,
I need some help with submitting a feed into iTunes.
The feed in question is originating from an automatic server platform, which autogenerates both the audio content as well as the RSS feed. The problems are caused by the inability to manually edit the RSS. Let me explain.
The server platform hosts hundreds of podcast feeds, which all have exactly one kind of header. So far all the other podcasts have been "clean", ie. there has not been any need to supply an <explicit> tag. But now there is a new podcast that needs to be marked as "explicit". So how can I do this?
After studying the (apparently outdated) podcast authoring guideline documentation, it suggests that if <explicit> tags are omitted from the RSS, I can supply the explicit status info manually while submitting the feed into ITS. However this does not seem to be the case. When I try to submit the feed into ITS, it defaults for "explicit: clean" in the "submit a podcast" dialog even though it is supposed to let me specify this manually!!! What gives?
Any help would be really appreciated! Like mentioned above, I cannot edit the RSS code manually.
TIA

  • My iphone 5c shut off by its own and its been about two hours and it will not come on even when I charge it, why is this?

My Iphone 5c has been shutting off and coming back on, on its own since I got it in December of 2013. I don't know why its doing this but now it did that again and it will not come back on. Even if I put the charger on it.

Do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.

  • Why can't I turn Airport on in my iMac? It turns off on its own.

I have an iMac with leopard and an intel processor. Airport (the hardware/software responsible for my Wi-Fi) seems to turn on and off on its own.
Sometimes when I log on, Airport is on. Sometimes after it goes to sleep, Airport is on. But sometimes, Airport isn't on, and there's nothing I can do to turn it on. It appears that this is an issue other users are having, but I can't find the resolution. I am looking for easy steps!
I have gone to network preferences, and tried pushing that cute little "Turn Airport On" button. Nothing. I've tried deleting the locations and adding a new one. Nope. I've changed the order of the network devices. I've tried to turn airport on through that little icon in the upper right. It's hollow, and tells me "No Airport Card Installed". It's lying. It was there two days ago. System profiler tells me that there's no Aiport card installed, but it did *two days ago*.
I admit my ignorance of Macs whole-heartedly. I bought my first a month ago - I only spent 3 hours that first day getting it on my network. The next day I spent another 3 hours getting it BACK on the network. Now I have spent 2 days trying to get it to believe it CAN get on a network.
An Apple salesman convinced me how terrific Macs were, and impressed me with how easy they are to use. He made a crack about how inferior Dell was and how sorry he felt for me. I am writing this message on a Dell laptop. It is connected to my wireless network. It took me 3 minutes to connect it, and it never once has told me that it no longer has a network card. Neither have the other 3 PCs in my house.
Can someone PLEASE save a poor, helpless PC user. I clearly need assistance -I read somewhere that I can run a 'script' to turn it on - but I don't know this OS so I don't understand what that entails
If any answer involves taking my Mac into a "Genius Bar", then the "Genius" can keep it. I've never had to take an out-of-box PC to a "Genius" - because it doesn't take one to fix a PC. Please guys, save a PC user. This Mac cost more than the PC I wanted and it's worth a lot less to me right now.

Hi, sorry to hear that you are experiencing these problems, but sometimes a new machine (be it Apple, Dell, whatever) can be defective right out the box - its not unheard of.
If your machine came with defective hardware and is still under warranty (seems to be the case here) then you have nothing to lose taking it back to where you bought it and, if there really is defective hardware present I am sure they'll rectify the problem.
A small note: these problems are not manufacturer-specific - its pointless blaming the manufacturer as I can assure you this happens with ALL brands. Apple supplies quality hardware and software - I know of a user who has had a machine switched on since 1987 without problems

  • Why does my mac reboot on its own?

Why does my mac reboot on its own?

Oh den.thed...  I saw your post this morning and I was so excited....  ran to the Mac and got to Energy Saver, and...  the checkbox is already unchecked.
Long story, I'll make it short.  Just got the Mac back after having the HDD replaced.  (It stopped working after less than 500 hours.)  This rebooting thing has been happening ever since I got the computer in 2010, and I was hoping it would coincidentally stop happening after having this crashed HDD replaced last week.  No such luck.  Still doing it, even after getting the computer back from Apple.  Two of my kids have macbooks, have used the cr*p out of them, and have had very few problems (nothing big).  I bought this Mac, to replace a dead Dell desktop that got very little use, and so far I am not sure I did the right thing.  Really wish I could get this "automatic" rebooting thing fixed.  (Reboots with no notice, while doing normal tasks - internet, word docs, etc.)  Thanks again for your help.  Let me know if I should try anything else.

  • Why is my iphone sending blank texts on its own?

  • Why won't InDesign open its own .indd file on iMac?

I have InDesign CS5.5 on an iMac OS 10.7.5 - I created an .indd file about a month ago on this machine, using this version of InDesign.  This machine is not networked, the file has no links in it, no images and is only 1.3MB in size.
InDesign won't open the file and this is the message I get when I try to open it:
"Cannot open the file "odes_PRINT.indd".  Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, o the file may be open in another application."
No other programs were open, the file was not open in another application and presumably, InDesign ought to support its own file format and not require special plugins to do so. No one but me has been in that file.
I've tried restarting the program and the machine, deleting and replacing preferences and renaming the file.  It seems like this happened to me once before a few years ago with an earlier version and I believe I had to scrap that indd file.  I could rebuild this file as it's just all text, not that big and I have the text in a plain text file BUT I want to know why this happens and what to do about it. I make large files for clients, this is a small client file that I can easily rebuild but some I can't and can't afford to have this happen again.
I've been googling this problem all evening and I'm out of ideas - anyone else got any?

Try my script in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/934429 -- it will tell you if it's an InDesign file or not.
If it tells you it is, the file must be internally damaged beyond repair. (And then you've lost it. Yes, it happens.)
If it tells you it is not, then ... well, then it is not a native InDesign file. At that point you need to retrace your steps: what did you do when you thought you were "saving" it? (As it is, in fact, impossible to use "save" in InDesign and not save 'as' an InDesign file.) What other file type could you have used? Do you ever manually or automatically rename files?
Needless to say, if it is no longer an InDesign file (never mind what the file extension says), then you cannot open it in InDesign anyway. But if you know what type of file it is, you can open it with the appropriate software (e.g. a JPEG viewer or an RTF reader) and see what's in it.

  • Why iPhone 5 not charge with its own charger but will with iPhone 4 charger

why iPhone 5 not charge with its own charger but will with iPhone 4 charger. Thanks to the member who posted that fix.

It sounds to me like the charger that came with the iPhone 5 is defective, or the cable is if you've been switching the cables when you switch the chargers.
    Regards.

Why hasn't apple created its own USB or USB adapter for their products.? Since an iPhone or iPad make traveling and doing school work or on the job work, why not create a USB to make transferring information easier too.?

In some folks' version of the world, you have plenty of ways. YOu have the aforementioned services, you have iCloud, all you need is an internet connection and you're good to go. And that works perfectly...if you always have the internet.
If you want more non-internet dependant ways, then the best way to let Apple know is to send them feedback. They don't monitor or respond to this forum (Beyond removing rule breaking posts) but they do at least log feedback. However, the lack of a file manager will always be an obstacle. There are some apps out there that have at least a pseudo file manager - as in the ability to move documents into multiple other apps. I have Readdle Docs which I can use to download and move things around with, but again, back to the internet or wireless.

  • Why has Apple not addressed the problems with its own software?

Since I seem to have made the fatal mistake of upgrading my lovely iMac to Snow Leopard, most of my iLife 09 products have ceased working. In particular iDVD, where as before on faithful Leopard it did its job 100% it now decides to crash whenever it feels like it, leaving me with a third party application to use. Myself, along with approx 2000 other users have the same problem, so come on Apple, why the problems with your own software?? and why are we still waiting??

    Hi hipster36
Welcome to apple discussions. Question for you: Is your mac intel based?
If not, what's the objective in upgrading to Snow Leopard as opposed to continuing to work perfectly within Leopard? What added features were you considering to upgrade to? Are there any benefits in doing this for your own mac (even if it is intel based)?
It's wise to approach all upgrades with caution (meaning always back up your current / working HD).
Frankly, the way I upgrade is to clone my existing hard drive and then boot to the clone. Thereafter, I install the latest upgrade or OS (assuming it works well on the clone). I guess what I'm saying is to never upgrade without backing up and performing a test drive of the latest OS before you opt to alter your main hard drive. One can't assume that the latest and greatest Mac OS will continue to work fine on a mac which didn't first ship with this particular OS.
This latest Mac OS /Snow Leopard is a bold step forward for apple. It's bold step forward in that it excludes all non-intel based macs.

  • Why does the brightness turn up to max on its own?

I have an iPhone 5 with ios 7.1
I dont have auto brightness turned on and keep my brightness around 40% so I dont drain my battery and its as bright as I need it.
I noticed the brightness turning up to full brightness by itself whether im inside or outside and cant figure out why or how. Its very annoying.
I also turned it onto auto brightness to see if it would help but it is still doing it up to max by itself. Can anyone help please?

Exiting FULL screen is triggered by one of three things.
    1. Pressing "ESC" on the keyboard - a "user input".
    2. Clicking the "toggle" on the player interface, which placed the video into FULL screen - again, a "user input".
    3. The page refreshing or new content loading in the page - can be "user input", or something like a javascript or ad in the page.
Since Chrome uses its own "proprietary" plug-in, which functions independently of the ActiveX (IE) and Standard Plug-in (Firefox), you can uninstall and reinstall all day long and it'll have no effect on Chrome. You can't download or update "PepperFlash" from here.
If you go to the Chrome Settings:
    Click "Show advanced settings..."
    and click "Reset browser settings"

my laptop will shut completely down on its own why?

This may not be a Firefox question
    * it is overheating, is it on a soft surface blocking ventilation whilst running video ?
    * the battery is flat and the power cord is removed
    * it has power saving features and is turning off the computer, or the screen etc

  • Why is my InDesign document drifting to the left on its own?

When I pull up a file it immediately starts moving to the left of the screen...sometimes disappearing to the point that I cannot work on it.  Even if I go to the bottom of the page and move it back, it just moves back to the left on its own.   Why is this happening?  What can I do to make it stop and follow my direction.

I found out the problem.  It was a mouse malfunction that only reacted to my InDesign files.   When I switched out the mouse, the problem went away.
Thanks for your suggestion though to restart.   That quite often works.

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.
If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.
