Why is Itunes asking me to authorise certain songs that I have just purchased?

I have just purchased an album from Itunes. All songs seem to have downloaded successfully into my library, but I am only authorised to play 3 of the songs!?! When I try to listen to the others I get a message saying "This computer is not authorised to play '.........song title........'. Would you like to authorise it?".
Ok.... so I type in my apple ID and password, click 'Authorise', and I get another message telling me "This computer is already authorised"!?!
Please help!!! This is very frustrating as I feel like I have just been robbed. Why can't I listen to the music I've just bought!?!

iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone “Stefan’s iPhone”. Go to the Summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings.
This is the message that appears when i connect my iphone if this helps.

You need to plug your iPod back in and copy the songs from the iPods memory onto your MBPs hard drive, and then import the songs into your iTunes library from there.
I'm guessing that before you were simply clicking a song from your iPods memory to play it in iTunes, so whenever you tried to access the song without the iPod plugged in, your MBP couldn't find it.

You can do it with Leopard but it depends upon the iTunes version which you did not reveal. Also make sure you are looking in the right place for purchases.
Consider buying a backup drive so you do not need to do this again. If you are going to run old hardware and software you need to live differently because yes, at some time you will find your version of iTunes no longer works. You're lucky it still works with Leopard. As you can see, some versions still work with the iTunes Store but not for repeat downloading.

The files that weren't inside the media folder on the original machine need to be copied over to exactly the same paths as they had on the source machine. See this thread for an ongoing discussion of a similar problem. See also this post on migrating the iTunes library.

Same issue. I complete one purchase and on the next one I get stuck in an endless loop of it asking for my password over and over. I have to close iTunes, reopen and it's fine, but that is ridiculous to do for every purchase.

All of a suddent it keeps asking me to authorize my computer to play certain songs, when I do it says the computer is already authorized but it kicks it back to the authorization log in screen when I click on the song I want to play. I have deleted Itunes, redownloaded, cleared caches and done pretty much what every one else has said to do but I still can't get them to play.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

Why can I not play certain songs which I have just downloaded?

I recently download 10 new songs and only 3 of them work and play out load whereas the other 7 do not .If you tap them they only skip to the ones working.my new songs also do not appear on my laptop (not an apple product). Some of the non working songs have faded out the song title and artist.

This sounds like your music is not stored locally on the device and accessing your purchases in the cloud. There is a new feature in iOS 7 that shows all purchased music and requires and Internet connect to play this content. You can download any missing media via the steps in the first article below. If the media is located in your iTunes music library, you can sync the media from your Mac to your iPhone. If unfamiliar with the process, I have included the steps in the second article below.

Itunes 11 is not showing the songs that i have on iCloud

I don't have itunes match but when i downloaded itunes 11 my music that was not in my computer with an album artwork with a cloud had dissapeared. My albums had clouds and now neither those albums appear same as the cloud. How can i make them visible again?
