Why is load status bar appearing on startup?

I just downloaded and installed Yosemite on my MacBook Air and Macbook Pro 13 inch notebooks.   Everything is working as it should.  But I noticed something I have not seen on previous OSX installs once the install is completed.   On each successive startup I see the Apple logo on a blank screen, which is normal.    But in addition to the logo I am now seeing a status load bar underneath the logo.  Usually I only see this status load bar on initial installs when components are being unpacked, configured and installed.   I am wondering if Yosemite is not installed completely and keeps re-loading components on each boot-up.  Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

I have exactly the same problem - grey screen with progress bar before computer fully opens. My wife has also installed yosemite - but her machine has the spinning wheel still before it fully opens. Two different laptops with yosemite behaving differently. Also my laptop finally opens - very sluggish in safari - whereas my wife laptop works fine. Something is not right!!!

  • Why does my status bar shows GPRS?

I recently updated my iPad 3 to iOS 7. Why does my status bar shows GPRS and not 3G?

No service refers to the availability of cellular service. If there was no Wi-Fi signal you would see only a dot instead of the Wi-Fi fan symbol.

  • Why is the status bar/ add-on bars missing ?

I recently refreshed my Firefox after 37 installed and crashed every time after. Once I loaded I added Status-4-Evar and the Bar is not showing up.
So I tried loading two other add-on bars Zero and I know several of of my add-ons use that.
YES i did the rename the localstore.rdf and xulstore.json and tried that step I tried also to disable extensions too to see it it would help and nothing.
So anyone know how to solve this?

    <blockquote>
If you '''are''' using Classic Theme Restorer ''(as shown in your first screenshot)'', you don't need any add-on bar extensions and S-4-E really isn't needed either to get the Add-on Bar back.
All you need to do is enable the Add-on Bar via a right-click on the Titlebar or in View > Toolbars from the Menu Bar.
CTR and S-4-E so work together quite well, but not sure about installing any other Add-on Bar extensions with either - probably going to create a conflict.
    </blockquote>
Yes I tried disable then and removed them but the Status bar does not show.
Funny thing it does show when starting up Firefox and Closing they appear for brief moment. And it does show many of my add-on on the bar I need to use. :/
is there something blocking them or about:config option I need to change?

  • IE browser loading status bar

When attempting to load the following page using IE (v6), the
SWF loads fine but the status bar at the bottom of the browser
    indicates "1 item remaining....."
    http://lakeplacid.com/flash/f/map/lodgingmap.cfm
The status bar will eventually complete, but it's not an
    accurate alert.
The movie is fully loaded once the first frame is displayed.
    Has anyone encountered this before?
This isn't THAT important, but I've had some complaints from
    clients regarding the "misleading" information.
    Thanks!

Some of the early workarounds for the recent Internet
Explorer changes (regarding active controls) cause the appearance
of incomplete loading. Flash 8 and Dreamweaver 8 now have officlal
updates that create new JavaScript and HTML publishing code, so
that pages containing SWFs load completely on all browsers, and
don't create the annoying warnings on IE.

  • Why is the status bar purple with a microphone icon?

My status bar at the top is now purple with an microphone icon.  Why is this?

This occurs when you pair your iPhone to your in car audio system and start siri. If you look at the purple header carefully you will see the siri style mic logo on the right.
To get rid of the purple bar:
    1. Disconnect your iPhone from your car audio
    2. Invoke siri
    3. Switch siri off again without doing anything and the status bar should go back to normal.

  • OSX 10.10: Is it normal to have a loading progress bar at each startup

My MBP-13 (Mid 2010) has become very slow on startup and each time I start (from cold or re-start) it has a "process bar" as if an update is loading, on the Grey Screen where previous to the update there was just the Apple Logo. This began when I upgraded to Yosemite. Admittedly, my hard drive is a bit full (51 GB remaining) and that could be partly to blame for the slower startup, I feel like something is not quite right since the update. Earlier today on the left pane of my finder window, there were 5 versions of this MBP under the "Shared" column (5 versions of itself!). I thought this was strange so I did a restart and while it did take care of the 'ghost' shared versions of itself, it was still slow to startup again, and the progress bar was there again during the grey screen part of the startup process, as it is each time the computer starts.
    So My questions are:
    1. Is it normal to have that progress bar during startup with Yosemite when it was never there before the update?
    and
    2. What would cause this computer to show what I like to refer as 'ghost' versions of itself under the shared column on its own finder window left pane?
Thanks in advance for any wisdom you may impart.
    Regard,
    Capt Ron

    1. Yes, the progress bar replaced the spinning gear. Haven't a clue why, but might be to mimic iOS devices ( I don't have any, so can't check).
    2,  Can't answer, since I share nothing.

  • Where is the refresh button and where is the bar at the bottom of the page that gives the loading status of the page? Why did you mess with something that was perfectly fine??

I updated to firefox 4 and it's not as good as the former version. There is no refresh button, and I use that a lot. There is no loading status bar at the bottom of the page and I liked the tabs BELOW the page address.
Why do you keep changing things, just for the H**L of it...

In Firefox 4 by default the Stop, Go and Reload (Refresh) buttons are combined and attached to the right hand edge of the location bar.
When you are typing in the location bar it will show the Go button. When a site is loading it shows the Stop button. At other times it shows the Reload button.
If you want separate buttons, right-click on a toolbar and choose Customize, you can then drag and drop the stop or reload buttons and place them elsewhere. If you place them in the order "Reload-Stop" on the right hand edge of the location bar they will be combined again. Ok I've finally got a dzen bar to appear.
In my xinitrc where i normally start xmonad
    I now have the line
    exec xmonad | dzen2
But nothing appears in the bar I've tried several examples and it doesn't seem to work.
    Is there something I'm missing?

  • How do I view the Horizontal Scrolling bar and status bar at the bottom of the screen. I can only see the top menus, toolbars and vertical scroll bar?

Before the most recent upgrade, the bottom horizontal scrolling bar and status bar appeared on my screen. Now since upgrading, I cannot see the. Anyone ideas how to restore them?

If you haven't already, you could force-quit Quicktime by using the menu option from the desktop (finder) and choose Quicktime.
Not sure what you have frozen on the screen, be it a failed movie, or some unusual screen shot. If you can find by date (created) you may be able to look for .mov or quicktime suffix name or other video file content to delete it.
And you may have to restart your computer and perhaps run repair disk permissions from Disk Utility's first aid on the hard disk drive in your computer.
Not sure if all that would help now, but it is something a few days late...!
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Grey start-up screen with status bar freezing and shutting down

    Hello
I have a 13.1 MBP running 10.8.1 that is about 18 months old and when starting it up, it makes the traditional apple "ding" and then starts up with the little spinning wheel.
Then the status bar appears reminicent of when you install a firmware update and after 23 seconds, the MBP competely shuts down.
I have reset the PRAM, tried to start up from the disc, tried to start in Safe Mode and everything in between.
Nothing seems to remedy the situation.
Any thoughts would be most helpful!
    Thanks!

Actually, you should hold the C key to start up from a Mac OS X install disk. Holding the D key boots into Apple Hardware Test (assuming you've got the right disc in). If both of those things fail, resulting in identical behavior, then it's likely to be a hardware issue.

The status bar appears at the bottom corner of the page, covering up ongoing info at the bottom of my pogo game page. If I hover the cursor over top of it, it moves to the other bottom corner....very annoying to have it pop up like that.
