Why is Mac App Store so slow in China?

Accessing the Mac App Store is extremely slow in China. It is so frustrating.
It is slow when loading, searching, downloading, etc.
Is it possible for Apple to set up some servers in China so that the users here can have better experience?

Apple is not here. Apple does not answer questions here. This is a user to user forum. No one here knows Apple's future plans.

  • Mac App store running slow in lion

Since I install Lion (clean install) on my Mac Pro 2009 the Mac App Store in very slow and each time I click on an item I see the beachball. Everything aside the App Store is running fast and smooth. Anyone with the same problem ???
    Thanks !
    Olivier

I'm guessing it's because the MAS has been seeing increased traffic since Lion came out. I'd imagine that tens of thousands of people downloading it every hour is putting a strain on the system. I myself am seeing the same problem.
If the problem persists for you, contact Apple Technical Support.

  • Why the mac app store(Germany) doesn't sell a lot of popular Games? (For example: GTA San Andreas, or Call of Duty 4) ?

Here in the mac app store in Germany I bought me the Game GTA Vice City then i saw in the Internet that the app store has got the Game GTA San Andras but not for the app store in Germany. Why ?

Apple sells the apps in the stores that the developers wish to have them sold. This developer perhaps does not want to sell this app in Germany at this time.

  • Why use mac app store

ok so I have been looking for an article as to why one would want to use the mac app store as oppsoed to just finding what you want online.
im guessing the app store is safer... you cant get a virus from an app downloaded from there.
And it updates through the app store... but sometimes I see apps that dont update on the app store but DO update on the website.
I also wish app store had an 'related apps' bar under the app you are currently viewing so you can see other choices of similar products and their ratings.

You are correct that downloading from the App Store is safer. Apps in the App Store have been "cleared" by Apple, and they also have to abide by strict sandboxing restrictions (which limit what the apps are able to do). Although that's not a guarantee that an app couldn't do something sneaky, it certainly does limit the possibilities and makes it very unlikely that this would be a concern.
Because App Store apps are limited in capabilities, you may from time to time need to download something from a source outside the App Store. When you do, as long as the app is created by a developer who is registered with Apple, and the app is "code signed" by that developer using a certificate issued by Apple, then you will be able to open that app as well. (Unless you have changed your Gatekeeper settings to only allow App Store apps.) Such apps cannot be guaranteed to be safe, but if a developer is discovered to be distributing signed malware, Apple can simple revoke the developer's certificate and the app will no longer open.
By default, you will be prevented from opening apps that are not signed, which present the highest risks.
For more information on this sort of stuff, see my Mac Malware Guide.

  • Mac App store very slow

Mac App store takes ages to load up, then open or search for any apps. It works fine but just very slow. It wasn't always like this, just recently.

From your Applications folder move the App Store app to the Trash. Empty the Trash.
Now open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left then open the Library folder then the Caches folder.
Move the com.apple.appstore and the com.apple.storeagent files from the Caches folder to the Trash
From the same Library folder open the Preferences folder.
Move these files Preferences folder to the Trash: com.apple.appstore.plist and com.apple.storeagent.plist
Same Library folder open the Cookies folder. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
I know you already installed the v10.6.7 combo but you need to do this one more time. If you still have the original .dmg file, move that to the Trash.
    Reinstall new:  http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1361
If that didn't reinstall the App Store app, follow these instructions.
    Get Pacifist
Pacifist is a utility that can extract files from a .dmg folder.
Open Pacifist after you install it. In the Pacifist window click Open Package.
Navigate to the MacOS XUpdCombo10.6.7.pkg. Select that then click Open.
In the next window click the gray disclosure triangle where you see: Contents of manual
Then click the triangle next to: Contents of MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.7.pkd
Then click Applications, then right or control click: App Store.app
Then click: Install to Default Location. That will reinstall the MAS to your Applications folder.

  • Why does Mac App Store log me out in the middle of a download of Lion and "resume" won't work?

I have previously purchased a copy of OS Lion and have been loading it onto each of three Macs in our home network.  This worked fine for an iMac G7 and iMac G5, but is failing for a White Macbook (running Snow Leopard 10.6.8).  Other apps have been successfully downloaded on the Macbook, so the problem seems to be only associated with Lion (which is a 3-4hr dowload).
When I log onto my Mac App Store account and select "Purchases", my prior purchase of Lion is there as it should be.  I then select "Install" and it starts to download as expected.  Then about 10 minutes into the download, it pops-up that it is going to log out and offers me the option to click "cancel" (within so many seconds) to elect not to log out.  If I select "cancel", it continues to download normally until about an hour later when the same thing occurs, and so on.  If I do not select "cencel", then it logs out and when I log back in "Resume" doesn't work in App Store.  It shows that zero GB have been downloaded when at least 1GB have already been downloaded.
So, unless I sit there vigilantly watching the download for 4 hours to select "cancel" whenever it pops up. I just can't download the software this way.  With a capped data plan, this has the potential to be very expensive.
Btw, I have tried the simple thing of switching from a WIFI connection to cable, but this had no impact on the problem.
    Can anyone help?

but is failing for a White Macbook (running Snow Leopard 10.6.8)
Launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer.
    Try again.

  • Why is the app store so SLOW?

Whenever I bring up the App Store application, it takes ages to load.  I just closed App Store and started it again, and it took a full TWO MINUTES for "featured" items to come up. Whenever I try to download something, it takes way longer than any other major download site I use.
I live in Japan, use the Japan App Store, and am on a 30mbs connection.  So why does the App Store take so long to load and download?

Has it always been like that?

  • Why my mac app store show in chinese?

The night before, I update my MacBook Pro to Lion and installed Mac-os-x-update combined and Lion-recovery-update from Software update. Nothing strange. When I opened the Appstore the evening after ( the 6th 0r 7th time since updated), the five words in the top row ( feature, top, categories,.., downloaded) are in chinese not english like ever before.

Open the App Store then click the round flag icon bottom right corner of the window then select your country from the next window.
You may need to quit then relaunch the App Store for changes to take effect.

  • Why is the apps store so slow to download? I Am waiting 10 hours!

is there an issue at the moment with the App Store as I have been waiting for 10 hrs. The App Store message says " Try Later"

Has it always been like that?

  • Enabling OCSB/CRL in Keychain Access slows down Mac App Store

Today I wandered why the Mac App Store on my Macbook Pro is much slower than it used to be, clicking on "Purchased" tab even froze the Mac App Store and I had to force quit of the App Store. Then I remembered that I turned on OCSB/CRL in Keychain Access because of the Comodo security breach. I turned off this feature and instantly the Mac App Store worked as fast as a few weeks ago.
My question: this security feature is very essential, even after the Comodo story. And I don't think that I am the only one who uses this feature, I read several articles about this after the Comodo incident. Will there be a fix for this problem? Will there be a Mac App Store that remains usable with OCSB/CRL enabled?
    Marcus

    I know it's not real helpful, but that's a little better than my 164 KB/s AT&T DSL.
If other sites are loading faster and at the expected speed, then you might try later when there are less user's accessing the App Store.

  • Now, my iMac doesn't display the Mac App Store properly! What's up, Apple?

Okay, I mentioned that my MBP was not displaying the Mac App Store properly... now its my iMac! Stupid blue boxes and unloaded tiles are the problem. Before anyone asks, my Internet connection works well. Anybody else having this problem (see photo)? What's up, Apple?! I'm tired of reloading the page and crossing my fingers. Fix your junky software!
Oh, when you added OS updates to the App Store, that's when problems started. Thanks, Apple!

Well, there's nothing wrong with my ISP or strength of my wi-fi signal. As you can see from the enclosed photo, the signal is very strong at the top of the UI. The picture was taken several minutes AFTER waking from sleep mode and after a page reloading (the Mac App Store actually displayed more icons, prior to the refresh). Additionally, the Mac App Store is slow as heck to load. I don't have any of these problems with any other Internet connected application, including the App Store on my iPad 2! All of the problems are localized around the Mac App Store. Ironically, the app store on my Windows 8 Pro virtual machine runs without a hitch!
Mac App Store icons don't always load correctly w/ strong wi-fi signal
No problem with the Windows 8 store running on a virtual machine using Parallels Desktop 8 (see, no ISP issues!)

Just a reminder... this happens to BOTH of my Macs (MBP & iMac)! My PC, Ubuntu, and Chromium virtual machines run Internet-connected applications without a problem. I hate the Mac App store!

  • Mac App Store download speed very slow...

I have been trying to download the App Store updates OS X Update 10.10.3 and OS X Yosemite Recovery Update to my iMac for the past several days.  When opening the Mac App Store, I click on updates and they appear.  However, when I select 'download' my download speed slows to the point of less than 1 MB per minute.
I seem to remember this happening when Yosemite was first released, but after a few days, I had no problem downloading Yosemite from the App Store.
This only occurs when trying to download from the Mac App Store.  When I download iOS App updates to iTunes I do not have the same problem so it seems to be only affecting the Mac App Store.
My internet speed is fine.  I can download fine from other websites, just not the Mac App Store.
After searching online, I found one solution that looked promising:
Finder->Applications->Utilities->Keychain Access->Preferences->Certificates->Certificate Revocation List- Changed from Best attempt to OFF.
Unfortunately for me this had no effect so I changed the setting back.
I then looked for a way I could download the files from outside the Mac App Store & found this:
       Apple - Support - Downloads
When downloading from Apple Support downloads page, my downloads were very fast.  The Yosemite 2 GB Combo update took about 15 minutes, a far cry from the App Store which would have taken hours.
Is there some setting I need to change to increase the download speed from the Mac App Store or is it just overloaded servers?  Why then can I download the files from the support page and not run into the same slow speeds?  Updating iTunes was also giving me very slow download speeds, so again, I went to the Apple Support Downloads & clicked the link to download the latest version of iTunes.  The file downloaded in about a minute.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Apple servers are overloaded. Instead of using App Store, use safari to download the updates manually from apple websites.
    Here's a link for OS X 10.10.2 Combo Update.
OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Combo Update
I had the same issue and downloaded manually from this link. It took me about 30-40 minutes. I'm using a 5mb connection. Your 40mb connection should be faster.
As for the iOS updates, you will have to download them from your iOS devices, because there are no standalone updates for iOS. Alternatively after you update your Mac, use iTunes to download iOS updates by connecting your iOS devices with your Mac. That should be faster than downloading through your iOS devices.

I bought The Djay app, for iPad, but I can't download it on the Mac App Store, whitout having to pay the 20$ why is that

Because the developer needs to create and maintain the two versions separately and has chosen to charge for the Mac OS X version.

If you go to System Preferences > Network do you see other networks listed on the left panel?  Is the lock in the lower left corner closed?  If not, highlight your network, then close the lock so you block other networks.
