Why is Mozilla doing buisness with Cisco Systems Inc., a known U.S. miltary contractor who helps the U.S. government sps on everyone???
Mozilla claims that they are dedicated to protecting our online privacy, rights and freedoms, yet they are apparently doing business with Cisco Systems Inc. Cisco is a U.S. military contractor for the U.S. Department of Defense (D.O.D.). They work with the N.S.A. and help them in their efforts to illegally and unlawfully spy on everyone. So why are they installing their OpenH264 "Video Codec" on our PCs as an add-on without providing us a way to remove it? I've already "disabled" it and "turned off" the automatic updates, but that's not good enough. This is SPYWARE and potentially MALWARE. I want this garbage off my computer COMPLETELY. How do I remove it? Disabling spyware doesn't actually disable it. Complete removal is the only solution.
Hi JOHN_DUH,
Thank you for your question. It is possible to disable the codec and remove it with these instructions:
# From the Firefox Menu click on "Add ons"
# Click on "Plugins" on the left column
#Next to the Codec click on "Never Activate"
This will disable the codec as well as the plugin. If you would like to double check the about:config entry:
In order to change your Firefox Configuration please do the following steps :
# In the [[Location bar autocomplete|Location bar]], type '''about:config''' and press '''Enter'''. The about:config "''This might void your warranty!''" warning page may appear.
# Click '''I'll be careful, I promise!''' to continue to the about:config page.
#Search for 264
#Toggle '''media.peerconnection.video.h264_enable''' from true to false.

A recent update of Firefox included the OpenH264 Video Codec. This software is made by Cisco Systems Inc. They are a known military contractor of the U.S Department of Defense, who helps the U.S. government spy on everyone. Every single piece of software that comes from this company is suspect and should be considered malware and spyware. About a month ago I posted a question asking why Mozilla was doing business with them and asked how to remove it completely from my computer. The only response I got was a bot response explaining how to disable it, which I made clear was not enough. There was no no explanation given as to why they were doing business with a company like Cisco. I'm sure that if more Firefox users were aware of these facts they would be just as concerned as I am. I'm still waiting to hear back from Mozilla on this issue. They apparently consider the issue close. I do not.
Guess I'm royally screwed since my Cable Modem is made by Cisco. Anyway, they are using it to play HTML5 videos encoded in H.264 on operating systems that do not have the codec: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenH264
Might look at this thread for how to get rid of it: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2888681 -
why not invent a tablet with a i5 or i7 reader, DVI, USB ... who would wear the name of ipac or imad
Not sure why a tablet would need a Core i5 or a Core i7, particularly given that it would shorten battery life dramatically, but you can submit your suggestion to Apple here:
http://www.apple.com/feedback
The current iPad can output via DVI (using an HDMI to DVI adapter), by the way.

Hello everyone,
Working with numerous Apple Pages documents at the same time, I am looking for an efficient solution to switch faster from one document to the other. Integrating all them in a single framework, for exemple by switching from one to the other with a system of tabs would be of great help. Does anyone knows if such a possibility exists?
Thanks in advance,
Jean-Baptistejbp- wrote:
Thanks. It works and is very efficient. Not as much as a real system of tabs, but is allows to switch very fast between different documents. Only regret I would have is that it doesn't work with a document which is on full page mode. But that's already very helpful!
You're very welcome but Peggy really gave you the answer already.
With regard to the full screen apps, I don't think Apple have yet worked out how to make them elegantly coexist with other apps. The closest you can get is the four finger swipe gestures you may use on a trackpad if you have one (Mission Control and App Exposé).
In fact nowadays I use the App Exposé (four finger swipe down gesture) more often than I use Command-Accent to move between documents in the same app (when not in full screen). It also as the advantage of showing you thumbnails of recently opened documents below the ones already open within the app. If you haven't tried it, I suggest you give it a whirl.
I can't remember now but I think the four finger gestures are not enabled by default and you must switch them on in System Preferences > Trackpad > More Gestures. -
Cisco Systems vs "CSIRO" 802.11a and 802.11g infringed upon the '069 patent
Hi,
any news about Cisco Systems and the "CSIRO" 802.11a and 802.11g infringed upon the '069 patent ?
http://www.buffalotech.com/products/wireless/
Dear Customer
As you may be aware, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation ("CSIRO") sued Buffalo, Inc. and Buffalo Technology (USA), Inc. ("Buffalo"), for alleged infringement of United States Patent No. 5,487,069 ("the '069 patent"). Subsequently, CSIRO also asserted its patent against the entire wireless LAN industry, including, Microsoft, Intel, Accton, SMC and Netgear.
In it's lawsuit against Buffalo, CSIRO claimed certain Buffalo wireless networking products compliant with IEEE standards 802.11a and 802.11g infringed upon the '069 patent. Buffalo believed at that time and continues to believe that there are no grounds for CSIRO's allegations of infringement. The United States district court, however, found Buffalo to infringe the '069 patent and enjoined the importation and sale of Buffalo's IEEE 802.11a and 802.11g compliant products.
CSIRO's lawsuits are against the entire wireless LAN industry and could affect the supply of wireless LAN products by any manufacturer, not just Buffalo. The entire industry is resisting CSIRO's attempts to enjoin the sale of wireless LAN products. Recently, Microsoft, 3COM Corporation, SMC Networks, Accton Technology Corporation, Intel, Atheros Communications, Belkin International, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Nortel Networks, Nvidia Corporation, Oracle Corporation, SAP AG, Yahoo, Nokia, and the Consumer Electronics Association filed briefs in support of Buffalo's position that injunctive relief is inappropriate in this case.
During the period of time that the injunction is in effect (10/1/2007), Buffalo cannot offer for sale, sell, import, or use its IEEE 802.11a and 802.11g compliant products in the United States. A list of the products covered by the injunction is attached here . The injunction does not prohibit sales of pre-existing inventories of products by Buffalo's customers. In addition, Buffalo has secured CSIRO's agreement to permit the replacement of defective products under warranty. None of Buffalo's other products are currently affected by this injunction.
While Buffalo believes that it will be successful in reversing the district court's decision and will obtain a stay of the injunction pending a decision on the merits, the Court of Appeals has not yet issued a decision. Should the Court of Appeals issue a decision staying the injunction, you will be promptly notified. After the stay is issued or a favorable decision on the merits is obtained, Buffalo will be able to resume the supply of IEEE 802.11a and 802.11g products
Please rest assured that Buffalo continues to stand behind their products and will continue to support all of our loyal customers as it relates to product warranties, technical support and the like without interruption.I suspect after reading the patent and the litigation that you mentioned above, that the US District Court decision will be reversed as the patent appears to be very vague in its contsruction and verbage. Furthermore, the intent to hold the IEEE hostage on the ratification of 802.11n will not bode well in the court's eyes. If in fact the case is reversed, I believe that the members of CSIRO will be in danger of lost profits litigation from Buffalo. Stay tuned to this bat channel.

When I type in searches I don't want a box to appear under the search box trying to predict what I'm going to type next. Can I disable the system(prediction box) or erase the history list or both?
Thanks for the suggestion, but no effect, when I right click on the search bar all I get is; select all (which does nothing), add keyword to this search (which is the opposite of what I want) and add dictionary (again adding something). Do you have any other ideas? :)

I am not typing this on the computer on which I experienced the problem. Consequently, the list of plug-ins noted under the list of additional system details here is incorrect. I am running Firefox 3.6.9 on all three of my computers. The netbook on which this occurred is running Windows 7 Starter. Both other computers are running Windows 7 Home Premium.
It is not Personas that are being blocked, it is version 1.6 of the Personas Plus add-on that has been blocked as it was casuing many problems. You can still use Personas without that add-on. If you want the add-on, you can install version 1.6.1 which has fixed the bug in 1.6, available from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10900/

Ever since iOS 7, my iPad has been deleting all of my notes in "Notes". This is so frustrating because I need my notes for homework. Why is it doing this??
What exact model/year is your Mac? Please post the model identifier by going to the Apple > About this Mac > System Info (or more info - don't remember the dialog on the older system) > your hardware. It should look similar to this:
This info is needed as I don't think you can run 10.7 (as indicated in your profile) on a 9 year old Mac. -
Hi!
I try to configure a Cisco 5508 Wireless controller and 25 Air-lap1041 to use as VoIP and data. I read documents, manuals, etc, but the AP doesn't charge the configuration, or not conect with the Wireless Controller, why? No Radius server present, only WPA security.howto, please...
I try to put a static ip in the LAP, with lwapp or capwap command, (LWAPP/CAPWAP ap ip address direccion mascara) and the AP returns "You should configure Domain and Name Server from controller CLI/GUI." and i can't change the name of the AP (Command is disabled).

Hola:
I buy a gigabit switch. I connect the service-port to gigabit switch, and laptop to gigabit switch. I used 192.168.1.x ip address (192.168.1.157 to service-port and 192.168.1.233 to wired port on laptop, well, the laptop has two ip adress, 192.168.1.233 and 209.165.200.2, and the laptop works ok. Ping to 209.165.200.230 -ip address of management interface- and ping to 209.165.200.203 -ip address for AP, is assigned by DHCP of WLC. And i connect the ap to gigabit switch, and the wlc assigns well an ip direction.
I post the run-config and sysinfo log. The gigabit switch is tp-link model tl-sg1005d, no configuration.
Before the logs, I see this message from AP:
*Apr 19 23:10:20.211: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: This AP is not supported in controller
version 6.0.199.4 ---->What's mean that? Is it compatible the ap with the WLC? ¿Es compatible el AP con el WLC?
Hola:
He comprado un switch gigabit.
*Apr 19 23:10:20.211: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: This AP is not supported in controller
version 6.0.199.4 ---->What's mean that? Is it compatible the ap with the WLC? ¿Es compatible el AP con el WLC?

During the upgrade process of our CUCM 4.2(3) to version CUCM 4.2(3)sr4b the database replication between our 2 servers (1x pub, 1x sub) failed. After fixing this via dbhelper tool (everthing´s green and smiling again) service seemed to be ok.
But now Cisco Bars does not work anymore. The backup process of the publisher fails with "Error=[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL-Server connection." So it looks like some kind of database setting for bars is misconfigured after the republishing process.
Yesterday I tried to reinstall BARS (now in the newest version 4.0.150000), but the same error message occured. Now I get the message "Could not find Cisco Unified database on this server" when I try to configure the Backup source within BARS.
Curiously the backup of our second CCM (sub) works as expected (but without CDR and TFTP Data). The "BackAdmin" User exists and is not locked (and wasn´t changed manually at all).
I am runnig out of ideas... :-(
Any hint or idea on how to fix this is kindly appreciated
best regards
MichaelMike,
I don't have anything definitive here but I am wondering if there is a discrepency between the database names. In SQL Enterprise Manager, you can go to the Publisher and see what the current database name is. It will be the one being replicated and will take the form of CCM0300 or CCM0301 or CCM0302. You should see more than one. Anyway, take note of the name.
Then on the Publisher launch regedit and go to HKLM\Software\Cisco Systems, Inc.\DBL\
Look at the values for DBConnection0 and DBConnection1.
It will be something like DSN=CiscoCallManager;Server=;DATABASE=;Trusted_Connection=yes
Does the in the DSN match what you expect?
Also, going to back to SQL Enterprise Manager, check out the permissions on the database (Right Click->Properties, go to Permissions tab).
Another thing to check if you think it is permissions related is the AdminUtility.exe (c:\program files\cisco\bin\). This can be used to resync system account passwords.
TBH, I am just shooting in the dark here but these are things I would check.

Work group bridge with cisco 3500
Hi,
We have few cisco 3500 ap's which is to be used as work group bridge. I am not very sure but i think we need the ap to be in autonomous mode to make it a work group bridge. Currently it is running lwapp/capwap image.
Is this correct, please help with suggestions.sh ip int brie

Issues with cisco 1242 aironets
We are currently experiencing and issue with the 1242 AG Wireless Access Points. We have have them configured as 1 Root Access point and 3 Repeaters. The repeaters seem to be experiencing frequency interference issues. The Root AP is using antenna model 2506 and the repeaters 1728's.
What happens is when the repeaters are first started up, they see / communicate to the root access point fine, but within 5 minutes they stop communicating. If we manually set the channel to something different, they see each other for 5 - 10 minutes then eventually disappear and cannot be ping'd or seen with a sh cdp nei.
We have tried various combinations of settings so far. Have tried channel 1 - 13 and the least conjested frequency mode. It usually settles on channel 8 when we put it in that mode. But it is the same sceneario each time. All 3 repeaters show up almost instantly after a channel change, but slowly disappear in less than 10 minutes.
Here is our config:

We are wondering if you have any tips to get around this.
Also, should these access points be able to handle ~200 clients? How close to the root access point should the repeaters be placed? I basically just go until my signal gets low and put a repeater within that range. Could vary from 30-60 meters away.
ThanksAlso, should these access points be able to handle ~200 clients?
APs, in theory, can handle >1,200 clients. In theory. In practice, Cisco recommends between 12-25 clients. Imagine if you have, say, 50 clients and they are trying to access the network on a 100 Mbps FastEthernet connection. That slows them down, right? But consider wireless as a broadcast. One talks and the rest listens. -

Hello katyhale,
I found a couple of articles that might help with the issue you are experiencing with the iTunes Store.
If you are getting a white screen when accessing the iTunes Store and using a Windows computer, I recommend reviewing this article:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123
If you are still not able to access the store, I recommend the following article:

Thanks & Regards,Hi,
See this:
Table A-8 1400 W AC-Input Power Supply LEDs
LED
Meaning
INPUT OK
•Green—Source AC voltage is OK. (Input voltage is 85 VAC or greater.)
•Off—Source AC voltage falls below 70 VAC, is not present, or the power supply is turned off.
FAN OK
•Green—Power supply fan is operating properly.
•Off—Power supply fan failure is detected.
OUTPUT FAIL
•Red—Problem with one or more of the DC-output voltages of the power supply is detected.
•Off—DC-output voltage with acceptable margins.
Note For proper operation of the OUTPUT FAIL LED, systems with single power supplies must be configured with a minimum of one fan tray assembly and one supervisor engine. Systems with dual power supplies must have a minimum configuration of one fan tray assembly, one supervisor engine, and one additional module. Failure to meet these minimum configuration requirements can cause a false power supply output fail signal.
