Why is my audio cutting out in Final Cut Pro X?

All the elemnets in the timeline now have random sound cut outs. Any ideas as to what may be causing this? Happens in playback and when rendered out.

What audio is this? Camera audio? Something else? Comrpessed? MP3? AAC? AIFF 48k?

Have deadline. Didn't see it on any forum. Help!! Thanks!!

Seems like a weird thing to not be able to do since it's called final cut PRO...
Bagging on Final Cut Pro for OMF? HA! OMF has been around LONG BEFORE FCP was introduced. It isn't an FCP issue...OMF technology is VERY old. Over 20 years I believe. I used it on Avid...and it always had a 20GB limit.
You cannot deliver 1 track via OMF. You can ask the audio person. I know that Avid now allows you to export an AAF...but FCP doesn't do AAF. For embedded audio I think that OMF is the only way. SO you have to work within the limitations of that format.

  • Exporting out of Final Cut Express

I just wanted to know if someone could tell me the suitable frame rates, options etc for best results out of Final Cut Express to then go into idvd to create a dv pal dvd.... thank you, any help would be great.

You don't need to do anything special to go to iDVD.
Use File>Export>QuickTime Movie (not QuickTime Conversion.
Select the destination where the export is to go.
    Include>Audio and Video.
Leave the Make Self Contained box unchecked. This creates a reference file (small and quick).
    Hit the Save box.
Drag this exported Reference file to iDVD.

  • No audio track anymore in final cut pro timeline

    Hi everyone,
God I feel dumb but somehow i shut off audio tracks in my final cut pro.  I can see the previous ones down that I laid.  But if I try to bring anymore clips into the viewer and then slide them down to the time line there is no audio that comes with it anymore.  What button do I click to allow audio to pull down with the video on to the timeline.  Weird.

Make sure you have the audio tracks targeted by using the patch panel at the left of the Timeline.  Also make sure that the tracks aren't locked.

  • Transcode in Media Encoder Straight out of Final Cut Pro. Possible?

I have a Finished Final Cut Pro Timeline shot and Edited in 1440 x 1080i HD
Is it possible to come Straight out of Final Cut Pro 7 and right into Adobe Media Encoder to Encode it as HD 1440 x 1080i?
Will my Chapter Markers go with it?
If not, What would be the best solution for this? I want to Encode it as HD 1440 x 1080i to be used in Encore to make it a Blu-Ray Disc.
    Thanks in Advance

One solution would be to export, self contained from FCP, bring into Encore and re-create your chapter markers.
Another is to export self-contained and bring into Premiere to re-create chapter markers.
You can use XML to transfer your project into Premiere
    http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/145/869656
Based on what appears to be your Creative Cow question, you simply have to correct the image width for the problem clips using the Effects Controls / Motion panel. Or importing the clips individually and re-editing into the sequence may corrrect the pixel aspect problem.

  • Soundtrack Pro and Audio already altered in Final Cut

I'm just getting my feet wet with Soundtrack Pro. I have a project that was edited in Final Cut Pro, including keyframes to adjust audio levels in specific places in the audio tracks. When the project is sent to Soundtrack Pro, the changes that were made in Final Cut Pro seem to be ignored. Is there something I'm doing wrong here, or are audio alterations made in Final Cut Pro not passed on to Soundtrack Pro? I'm using Soundtrack Pro version 2.0.2 and Final Cut Pro version 6.0.5.

    Hi Lorenzo,
I haven't encountered this problem, however it sounds to me as though the waveform editor is sensing that the incoming signal is too hot & is automatically pulling down the gain to compensate and overcompensating to the point where the audio is barely intelligible.
What I would suggest you try is:
Select All Command (Apple) A then
Shift Command L. This gives you a window that allows you to boost the level. As the signal is so low, try 100%. If the signal is still too low do the same again. The Adjust Amplitude Filters will appear in the Actions List to the left of the Waveform. This is a nondestructive process & each Adjust Amplitude can be toggled on/off by unchecking it so that you can do a before & after comparison.
    All the best

  • Upgrade from Final Cut Express to Final Cut Pro

Is there an upgrade path from Final Cut Express to Final Cut Pro?

Why do you want to upgrade?
Are there some features you particularly need?

  • Final Cut Express to Final Cut X

I have started what is turning out to be the most difficult project ever in Final Cut Express HD. It involved using the logging and transfer function because there was AD video involved and AVCHD footage. I am thinking of getting Final Cut Pro X. It appears easier to use. Would I be able to transfer all I have imported to Final Cut X from Final Cut Express?

Did you mean to say unavailable from from final cut express if I want to use footag in final cut x

  • Final Cut Event and Final Cut Project

I am in the process of trying to clean up one space. While doing this I noticed the I have a Final Cut Project and Final Cut event  of the same name as you can see below in the screen shot below. Is the event part of the project. The project was created prior to my upgrade to Yosemite.
Everything was created in Final Cut Pro X

Hi. Please take a look at this Apple support doc. – particularly the two sections, "is media duplicated…" and "Can I delete…"
In short, removing the folders will remove clutter, but any additional space savings will be small.

  • Can I upgrade final cut express to final cut pro?

For some reason I'm having trouble finding the answer to this question. Can I upgrade my final cut express to final cut pro for a cheaper price then having to buy final cut pro from scratch? From what I've read, both final cuts are pretty similar so is an upgrade possible? I've found some posts saying you can, but they were from 2005 and not sure if that is still possible.
    Thanks

I remember learning that myself a few months ago and feeling kicked in the 'nads by Apple. FWIW, I've seen people selling their copies of FCE on craigslist. Not sure it's "supported" by Apple, but what choice do you have to reclaim any value? If you upgrade, FCE is essentially useless and redundant software to you.

  • Is Final Cut Studio with Final Cut Pro 5 still relevant and usable?

Is Final Cut Studio with Final Cut Pro 5 still relevant and usable? I bought it about four or five years ago and never started learning it, but would like to start learning editing now. Thanks.

That is the version I have. What formats can I work with in FCP 5.1. For example, can I edit movies from my Nikon Coolpix 7900 point and shoot that is about five years old? My Panasonic DV camera that is also about five or six years old? Will I be able to burn these types of footage to disc once edited and watch them on a DVD player. Thanks for your former replies.

I'm relatively new to FCE myself, so I'll answer with what I know. I'm sure the more experienced folks will either add to or correct what I say.
    1) For the Inconvenient Truth thing, I believe this would best be done in LiveType, which does allow you to do animations, and to work on individual letters and characters. Whether or not it could exactly reproduce the effects in the clip, I'm not certain, but I'm sure it could come very close.
    2) For the Crowd or the Cross effects, there are two things going on at once: effects on the text, and effects on the video. My gut feeling is that both FCE and LiveType can do these, with lots of work and patience, but I'll defer to other people to answer.
    3) The page peel is a transition built into FCE.

  • Does anyone of you use a HD-camcorder like Canon Legria HF G10 and cut films with Final Cut Express.

Does anyone of you use a HD-camcorder like Canon Legria HF G10 and cut films with Final Cut Express 4.0.1. I did not buy this product yet but ask before. Now I have 4GB RAM and i5 MacBooK Pro. Do any problems exist using FCE having made films with this camera?
I save the films als QuickTime films (mov) and create DVDs with iDVD.
Will the data be too many if I make films with such a camera (HD) so that 1 hour of film cannot be burned to one DVD (or if is not necessary to film with such a good quality because in iDVD the film looses its quality?).

I was able to find this info regarding the camera:
    AVCHD 1080/50i. 1080/25P (Maximum AVCHD 24Mbps)
    Recording Modes
    MXP 24Mbps / FXP 17Mbps / XP+ 12Mbps / SP 7Mbps / LP 5Mbps
The 1080/50i (interlaced) modes will work with FCE. PAL in this case. 60i is NTSC.

  • Compatibility issues with Final Cut Express and Final Cut Pro

I'm getting ready to edit a project and I was wondering if there are any compatibility issues with Final Cut Express and Final Cut Pro. I've never used Express put I assume I would be able to make cuts, simple effects and titles. Is this correct.
If I transfer project files from one platform to the other will i run into any issues?
Thanks for all and any help.

    {quote}
Although they operate in a similar fashion that are not fully compatible. You can open a FCE project in FCP, but once you've edited it in FCP you can't go back to FCE.
